The bike I started a ride with didn't work. Then the app errored out everytime I tried to end the ride. There is no way to contact support through the app while the ride is in progress either. There is also no phone support for Wheels on the weekend just a messaging service. The ride finally ended itself after an hour, with the bike going nowhere, charging me $22 for the hour. Waiting on a refund - hopefully their email support at least works on the weekend. Terrible experience.

I wish I never decided to give this app a try. It didn't end up starting the bike, but it still charged my credit card the fee for the bike. There is no customer service in the app, online, via email, or via phone for you to report a technical problem or ask them to refund you. It's just a bogus company that wants to steal your money. Stay far far away!!!

Third time using one of the bikes. Bike didn't work. I was charged anyway even though bike did not move. Not easy to figure out how to get a refund and in a rush. Got home and was directed to a web form to fill out. You need the bloody QR code from the bike in order to submit. Lousy experience. Not worth going all the way back to the bike. Deleting app and won't use again.

Stay far away from this company and app they are snakes all they want is your 89.99 if you need a repair they will not get back to you until weeks later, worst customer service I have ever had to indure. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GIVE YOU HEADACHES.

Edited review because experience matters and seems to worsen the more I encounter as a monthly subscriber. (Daily renters have it good.) 2 stars because you have a decent machine of an ebike. But the rest of your company is like a 13 year-old that still wets its pants! An infant company still growing its business, seems like. Keep growing, Wheels!! Best of luck!

NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. Trash app. You don't even get on the bike before they charge you for 30secs. A dollar a minute is extremely expensive. I couldn't end the ride after the bike wouldn't work. Customer service through the app is useless.

Worst Experience ever They Rather Suspend you then actually help. I made a account and they couldn't help fix there stupid verification process to have me become a transporter. I messaged them if I could create a new account and see if it works this time because of email issues with my current account. But instead of trying to solve to issue they rather ban you completely. I want a full refund NOW PLEASE! I barely went any damn where before your (thinks for itself) little bike kept deciding that it was apparently time 2end my ride for me?! ..4whatever insane reasoning algorithm it has programmed into it to nickel & dime people min by min just a little sooner here and a little shorter of a ride there, that, in the long run, sure adds up to hundreds of thousands of basically stolen money in the form of lost ride time for your unfortunate customers. Blaahhh!! Gross!

Always disconnects and won't allow to end ride, just stopping for a second and getting a drink and bike locks itself and app won't let end or add Nike back until over an hour of usage goes by. Please fix your app the bikes are great

It is the only option in DT Seattle that does not allow for multiple riders. We have 4 teenagers so it is a horrible app. All other rides like this allow group rides. It's unfortunate because these are the best "bikes" available. If you are on a date or with kids it's a waste. Also the app makes it hard to end the ride.

Junk. The bikes don't all work very well their brakes are sketchy and the kickstands keep falling down. Then when you want to park you have to ride a long ways away to be able to stop your session. It's ridiculous. Then they charge you a lot and even just to get to a restaurant $20 minimum. Really not worth it.

I speed rushed through and the application process and it was smooth all the way through. You can play music through it but I found it too difficult-rushing- to connect given that it didn't do it automatically through Bluetooth and it asked me to find my Wheels and I didn't know the name. Just fast enough and safe, even for a ten year old that may or may not have tried it successfully. Had a great time for 15 bucks for 1. Made our day. =)

As a transporter, it'd be nice if we had the option to put a broken bike out of service as needed. For example, last night I came across a bike where the brake line was visibly cut. I scanned the bike on the app, but it was showing no bounty, which to me sounds like someone could get on a bike with no brakes 🥺

The experience was terrible and created a dangerous ride. I'm an experienced mountain biker of 20 years. The bike stops in bike lanes and requires you to ride in the left lane! This is really bad. If it could go at traffic speeds it would have e been safer but it would randomly go between 4 and 12 miles an hour on perfectly flat ground. Do not ride these!

Simple to use and fun, it's a little expensive but it is cheaper than Uber at peak times. I wish the display on the bike was brighter and on all the time so you can see how much battery is left without having to scan and start a ride.

It's fun for the first 15 minutes of riding until you try and end it. Every 5 feet of Orlando is no ride or park area and continues to charge you while you walk around rolling a scooter for an extra 15 minutes to a random area. Use uber or any other service. Absolute rip off.

Couldn't connect to a wheels vehicle. The app kept saying that my Bluetooth was off when it was on and had permissions granted. Then the next day I saw it charged me about $25 for the vehicle that never connected.

Poor built. You basically have no access to help section or on-the-road help after you have activated the ride. I ran into a technical problem with one of the bikes, and it failed on me. I tied to make my way throught the app to seek help, a task which then was proved impossible to me. Their costumer care team seems to be a thurd party company which has delays of more than 4 days. Overall, a neve use app.

I absolutely love the wheels. From what I can tell it is the only scooter where you can sit down on it. On my spare time I pick up wheels sometimes even just walking and picking it up and even sometimes just moving across the street getting an extra couple dollars thank you Wheels I really appreciate it you guys are awesome!!!!

I really wanted to like this app but the user experience is absolutely abysmal, customer support is non-existent, the app and functionality of the bikes is riddled with bugs and broken in a way that will cost you money with no solution or way to resolve said issues, which are constant. Users can not reliably use this app

They have terrible customer service. Extremely difficult to find a human to help you plus the overcharge you making it ridiculous to find a place to.park. if you like virtually nonexistent customer service then this hustle is for you. I dont recommended. a monthly. Contract because if something goes wrong you can't reach anyone to help you. They need to be reported to the BBB. They ripped me off big time. As of this post no resolution from Wheelsco or refund my money renting me a bike that would

So far I'm loving it. But it takes some getting used to. I'm still adjusting to how this bike works, handles etc. Ive improvised, makin my own bike pouches/bags, phone holder, carry everything while delivering with this bike. But "pedaling" was hard on This ebike helps me to accept deliveries that are further away & I'm able to work more hours and more days. I've tried other rentals. This is the best!! My absolute Favorite!

This app used to be so easy to work with but now I can't even get paid because I can't get it to let me change the card it pays to. I can update the one they take my money from but not the one they pay... Funny how that works.

I don't know about renting the scooters but as someone who picks them up and take them back to be charged. (Or at least tried to.) This app is trash. They sent me out to some very dangerous places looking for these scooters. Most are stolen. Some crazy person threatened to stab me at one of the places they sent me to looking for a scooter. You need to call the police to get these scooters back instead of sending people out to dangerous places.

MOST BIKES THAT ARE SUPPOSEDLY THERE ARE NOT THERE WHEN I TRY TO PICK THEM UP IN LOS ANGELES. Your app needs MAJOR OVERHAUL. With all that money you are making from fees, there is no excuse. It is not even work the pity 3 to 4 dollars to find it let alone dock it into a hub, how about 7 dollars since you are making us hunt left and right for nothing?

The map that tells you where to find a bike is horrible. When I finally found a bike it was "out of service" - 2 bikes later and I found one that was in service. Got it to turn on- the bike moved forward a couple of feet and then stopped --- nothing I could do would make the bike go forward. After a few minutes of struggling to get the bike to work I shut it off. I was still charged for that time- waste of money and time.

This was my 1st time to ever use one I wasn't too sure on how the pricing worked team worked and i wrote it and it told me i had like so far that i could go and it died on me so i ended up having to push it back to where i got it and it wouldn't connect to the bike because it was dead so i had to park it wasn't a why isn't a fun 1st experience not sure if I'll have any funds left on my account to try it again

Rented one of these, cost $10.00 to go less than a mile, half of which I pushed the thing so I could shut it off. Said I was in no ride zone, wouldn't show or explain where I could go or even show where I was, had to guess to end payment, no help, no explanations, almost threw scooter into bay! DON'T DO IT!!! IT'S A BURN!!!

I tried to use the app for the first time, but it started the ride before the bike even turned on. The bikes weren't turning on or working so I tried to cancel the ride, but it said GPS error. I'm trying to find their customer service hotline, but suprise suprise it's basically impossible to find. I'm dreading the thought of downloading this app again just to see how much money they scammed me out of.

Fun and comfortable ride. Unfortunately slow and poorly charged. The Bluetooth connection was cool, though. Would easily be 5 stars if there was a faster mode/model for licensed users

Would give negative stars if i could. Only road about a half a mile in the middle of San Diego, a busy city. I literally had to walk to piece of garbage all the way back to where i picked it up because they don't allow drop off in front of a major convention center where there's literally dozens of bird scooters and they give no warning at all that you're leaving their non existent coverage area. Absolute garbage

This app/convenient mode of transportation, SUCKS. I've only recently (literally, less than 2 weeks) downloaded the app for, what I thought, was a "cool" way to make my long walk a bit easier. The 1st weird thing I notice is; I can use 'lime' the scooter app.(it cost more through lime) to ride 'wheels' too. Now, my BIG issue is; I can't activate a 'ride' now? It keeps saying "blah blah...try again later" i mustve tried 20x on 3-4 different 'rides'. GOODLUCK WITH $, APP and TIME. 4 THUMBS DOWN!!!

DO NOT US!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could not end the ride! Would say that my app did not have access to my GPS even though I verified that it did. Customer service was not helpful. They stated that they would have somone call me back to assist me. Called twice and the people who they said would call have not! The only way I was able to get it to stop was to uninstall. Then reinstall to make sure it ended. Please do not use!! Although other than the ride not being able to end, it was a fun experience.

App said bikes in my area. Reserved one. Went where the App said...no bike. Charged me anyway! Another bike supposedly available was off for maintenance. When got one to work, it tuned off in the middle of the street! Said entered prohibited area. Had to walk it back to get it running again. Description says it has nav. Nope. Couldn't tell me how to get around prohibited area. No nav at all. Wasted $20 and couldn't get where I was going. Had to call an Uber! (It was funny to ride, until...)

This experience was horrible. It constantly charged me before it showed me the bike had almost no charge. Why doesn't it show amount of charge left other than the intent of scamming people? It also shut down in the middle of riding with a full charge. Also slowed me down so much I had to use my feet like Fred Flintstone. Not worth using.

Always a "network error" when I have all bars on my cell service. What gives? Is the network crowded? Or are your servers screwed up? I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Force closed, cleared the cache. Toggled airplane mode, data, and bluetooth options. Even restarted the phone. There's no rhyme nor reason to when the bike will connect or not.

Terrible. Take them off the street bckz they don't work. I've used this on multiple occasions and the first time was terrible as the bike broke down midway. They recently came out with PRIVATE RENTALS which don't work so doesn't work customer service doesn't work you'll have a hard time even trying to find the number and even then they listen and tell you someone will call back and no has yet as of writing like tf. Do NOT pay for this. Incomplete app

DO NOT INSTALL DO NOT INSTALL DO NOT INSTALL I installed this today because I needed transportation to work. I paid 14 dollars in credit and for what should have been less than a 2 minute ride quickly turned into a nearly 40 minute infuriating dilemma. I couldn't end the ride because it couldn't "get a good GPS reading so I tuned it on and off a few times and it CHARGED ME FOR EVERYTIME. I LOST NEARLY 30 DOLLARS TODAY BECAUSE THE POS APP DOES NOT WORK. DO NOT INSTALL!

Too expensive. In Austin, Texas....$4 to start then $0.39/minute. 1) Uber is cheaper 2) the Lime brand scooters/ app is $1 to start then $0.29/ min. 3) Lime brand scooter I used was faster and had more torque for hills. I'm 250lbs. Had to walk the Wheels brand up hills. It's definitely fun if there isn't any other option. But there are usually way better options.

All wheels offline, slow, no battery, under maintenance...I'll stick to the Byrds. I tried about 15 bikes in La Joya. Customer support over the phone was able to help me recover SOME funds. Update Review: So I gave it another try in Austin thinking, "New city, maybe they take better care for them..." Same issue. This time they charged me $13 for immobile rides. Tried the ONLY 2 I could find in the area. This time support doesn't even work. It was EXTREMELY difficult to find online. Still no ref

All and all it's a great bike to ride around neighborhood all commute to work. My only knock is wish it was faster 25- 30 mph would be great!! Only goes 18-20mph. Also the speaker that comes with bike has low sound and bad connection. Especially when traveling at higher speeds. That being said it is worth investment. Cheaper than Citi bike and MTA

The bikes were loads of fun just two downsides of it first you couldn't tell how much battery was on the bike and when you get it if it has one bar of battery on it then that's it if you stop it and start a new one like you get charged for that bike that time don't think that's correct or Fair there should be a way to see what's up with the battery second we couldn't figure out how to get off the bike go look in a shop and then come back cuz when you do that it's like the bike won't start back up or something other than those two things loads of fun but really should do something about the battery because being charged two and three times is not cool

App delay ending ride. So I'm not stupid they put a delay in the app so when you're trying to end a ride it puts these little dots up as if it's stinking and it takes forever for it to end the ride it has absolutely nothing to do with Wi-Fi or cell service because it always happens and I check all bars for service. What's disgusting is they actually think we're too ignorant to figure it out and catch on.

First time rider. I learned to download the app and I found it to be a great experience! I have limited mobility and this Bike enabled me to ride around Austin and keep up with my able bodied friends! Super Awesome experience!! Please bring this opportunity to smaller cities like Sherman Texas! 💥🙌👍

Rode one once today and I followed the directions and the app constantly said network error even though I had 4G connection with all bars. The bike was incredibly slow on my (technically) second ride after cancelling before 60 seconds on the first one to increase the speed limiter. It goes 12.5mph and it truly isn't worth your time or your money, just ride a LINK or Lime Scooter, those are much more worth it, as those go around 16-17mph and you can ride them practically anywhere that has a road.

This is the first review I've ever written but I'd like to save people some time if they consider downloading this garbage app. It took ages to configure: have to take a 20 question quiz, doesn't sync with Google Pay or my phones saved Cc info, super slow interface at every stage, tried to sync with a helmet unsuccessfully (I could see the helmet right there) then when starting a ride I get a network error with no other insight than to 'try again later'. Same thing for 2 bikes. Absolute trash

Probably the worst decision I made last night was to install this app. I tried several different bikes 3 of which were dead, and the app wouldn't let me "end the ride". Further more when my wife tried to connect it kept telling her that it couldn't connect because her Bluetooth wasn't on but it was. When I finally found one that had a charge, it kept telling me I had to end my previous ride before I could start a new one which I had done almost an hour prior! LIME bikes app works MUCH BETTER

Every single bike was either down for maintenance or would not start. The GPS on bikes are not accurate either as it tell me I'm next to a bike (less than 50 feet at least) but there wasn't a single one in the area to be seen. Horrible experience with the app.

The only reason why not 5 stars is because there are not enough of these vehicles around especially downtown Los Angeles and also because i am supposed to be able to ride for free because of the government program but i always end up paying the dollar unlock fee for somereason but otherwise a great app and service!!

I tried connecting to a bike and my card wouldn't go trough so I closed the app and put in my card and then it started ride ans charged me for it even tho I wasn't even near the bike. So I stopped the drive and then had to walk a take a picture of the bike that was just being picked up by the people that work for this company. Then I used a different bike and it had no battery yet it still charged me. In total I spended like 6$ for something I didn't even used. I am hoping I can get a refund!

It was great to get around , but my battery was low, had to change, got an additional charged for the replacement that wouldn't turn on. Had to get 3rd bike that died eventhough it was fully charged. I guess I just had a bad day on the bike. There should be a way to see the life of the battery before the charge starts

Absolute scam with horrible customer service. Tried a monthly rental and they refused to deliver, even though I got it for my husband who can't drive (so can't pick it up). They said they don't start the subscription until you have the bike but they charge you the whole time even when they don't give you the bike. I have to dispute the charges with my bank because no one calls back, answers emails, or answers support tickets.

Tried to use the app, scooter unlocked, went 10 feet then died. Couldn't get anything done in the app, charged the full amount ($4 for a 100 feet 1 minute ride) then the app got locked at the "complete ride" screen. Skip wheels as a company.

in response to 2 of june review, with elec bike rentals usually a minimum ride time (or distance) or minimum charge applies. I was overcharged on initial ride which was remedied. with customer service issues, I wish I could deal with one person instead of multiple people on the same correspondence. also, after approval for transporter, I had some issues with the app, the option for transporter mode disappears after closing and reopening app.

App is bad, scooters are in poor repair. Tried to use 5 of the things, only 2 would even turn on. Of those two one was so slow (2-3mph) it was hard to keep it balanced, and the other had no drive power at all. Still got charged though, AND it's more expensive than Lime or Link. Save yourself some frustration and time and just use a different service.

At the end of my ride, the app did not allow to end the ride. It kept claiming that no GPS signal was available, even though it was (the app was showing the exactly right location in the map). I had to call customer service and wait by the bike for 30 minutes until they managed to end the ride. And if that wasn't enough, they ended up charging me for that time (!), I ended up paying 17$ and tanning 50 minutes for what should have been a 10 minutes ride. I wish I had walked... Never use again.

Horrible app Couldn't lock the vehicle and then the app logged me out and then wouldn't let me get back on for 20 some minutes. When I got bzck on it said I was in mid ride but didn't even show the option to lock the scooter. It was a nightmare and there was no support available. Out of some crazy luck it locked itself. 14 dollars for this whole ordeal but it guess that is better than thr meter running until the thing died. Immediately uninstalled the app.

Fun and simple, for the most part. A few times I've started the ride on my phone and the bike doesn't unlock. I still get charged and have to go through the process of getting a refund and whatnot. Still waiting on a few. They also don't make it easy to report in issue on a particular ride. You should be able to go to your ride history, immediately after you get done and click on that ride and have options to report issues or whatever. Fun little rides though, for sure! Thank you!

The app sucks. It's keeps shutting down. The bike keeps shutting off after a very short period of not being used and then you gotta reconnect and the app will say no internet service. Also I'm currently traveling and the app has messed up. So I uninstall to reinstall and now it continues to say I'm in a session and can't begin a new one. So I'm stuck with a e bike that doesn't work. The app needs better and more features and an actual way to contact help not just link back to the website

The most expensive and problematic things I've ever used. Speed controls were iffy. It ended my ride for me in the middle of my ride causing me to have to rescan and start another ride. Sometimes (for no apparent reason zone or otherwise) speed would be reduced to 5mph. They have zero power. I would have to kick my feet just to get it going. Will never use again. According to the rest of the reviews this seems right on par with their performance and I get the same apathetic response as everyone

DO NOT BUY CREDITS, WITH WHEELS, YOU'LL JUST LOSE YOUR MONEY!!! I've been trying to use my credits to ride but, instead of being able to pay with them, it just keeps charging my card, no matter what I do. I haven't had any replies to my inquiries, their automated hotline doesn't help, I've tried emailing support and haven't heard anything back (going on 2 weeks, now, with several unanswered emails), I don't know what more to do!! THEY JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY AND MAKE YOU PAY WITH YOUR CARD ANYWAY!!

My bike turned off just as I was leaving so I thought It obviously ended my ride, I just got home and I opened the app and it was still charging me, so I ended it and had to take a picture of my ceiling because I obviously dont have the bike with me and it still charged me for nothing literally. And the bikes turn off all of a sudden and everytime you turn it off again it charges you 5 dollars so if it turns off like 5 times that's 25 bucks plus what you rode it just gets me mad.

Terrible experience. Don't ever try this junk. It gave me a problem since the start, started the time at 27:00 for no reason. I wanted to cancel right away, but it won't let me end the ride due to the GPS probelm, but my GPS is working appropriately.

This is ridiculous!!! Tried to use multiple scooters in Venice beach and all of them malfunctioned and wouldn't operate but charged me for crazy amounts of time and then has different charges on actual account it makes absolutely no sense and I need a refund for all my charges I never got to ride one for more than a minute!!

Terrible experience. I hop on, and the Wheels bike barely works. My gf is zooming by me on an Bird scooter and I'm Fred Flinstoning it pushing it to barely go anywhere. Finally I give up and it won't let me stop it because I'm not in a designated zone. Like I'm supposed to drag this heavy non-functional bike right to the trash as a favor for Wheels? I uninstalled this app and walked away. Worse experience than the Metro Bike Share app which at least had the dignity of not functioning at all.

I tried to use this app recently as as another reviewer said, it was ridiculous. I tried 11 scooters in Hollywood CA and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them were "Under maintenance" or "Not working". Great that there were that many nearby but Totally Useless if none of them were working. My other most recent time using the app I tried a scooter & no matter what, it wouldn't move tho unlocked. So I got another one 1/2 block away, yet was charged for unlocking the 1st one too! Fortunately Customer Service helped out with that. Hit or miss app

It's not often an app is this deplorable. I used to love wherls befote the quarantinr, but now either every single scooter is broken and under repair orders or I'm shadow banned for reporting too many malfunctioning scooters, but that wouldn't happen in the first place if they weren't inoperable or had faulty breaks, etc. So long story short, don't use this app because the wheels stopped turning.

This review is for transporters. This company, by far, has the slowest payout turnaround i have ever seen from a gig app. Pretty much every other company has same day payouts or the option to cash out at any time. Not wheels. Not including the time it takes for your earnings to show being transfered to your bank, it takes almost a week to actually receive your money. Dont use this if you're looking for quick cash.

Okay experience renting and using wise. However the app constantly bugs out a lot. As well as unfortunately you can't tell how much battery is on the actual scooter until you rent it and it turns on. Which has led to multiple times renting the scooter that's almost out of batteries. Fix some of the crashing issues and show how much battery is actually on the scooters in the app and you've got yourself a solid ecosystem.

Decent product, horrible prices. The system is also really glitchy so sometimes it charges you more than it is supposed to and the prices are all over the place. It charges 3 bucks to start a ride each time but If you get on a bad bike then you have to end the ride and spend another 3 bucks which is an absolute scam. Don't make the same mistake I did and ride a bird or something. This app is terrible don't download.

GUTLESS WONDER! What a rip-off! I could have Ubered for the same price they soaked me for. These are not for Seattle! 4mph uphill is not only inadequate; it's also dangerous! I bike regularly and even I can't keep my balance uphill going this slow. My ride was on an 80-60% charge on a new unit with 8 miles on the odometer. On average, I was only able to go 6-8mph. It was twice as fast and half as much to use one of the rental scooters; even less for an e-bike. Immediate uninstall! Save your cash

So buggy. Have a hard time connecting to the bike. Or when it connects, now I can't disconnect. Or when it disconnects automatically, I can't connect back to the bike. Super buggy. Now the app turned off the bike and won't let me connect back to it because it says I already have a bike in use. Huh?

This app is so bad. Sometimes it will have no internet connection. I have to close out the app three times. The button for the lights never shows up. So other vehicles can't see me coming. The categories will sometimes do nothing when you need to select them. Now today the app is saying there's a network error everytime I connect to the scooter. But for $90 a month how dare you expect for a service to have good quality...

Honestly a logistical nightmare. all the way from picking up the bike, to actually activating it, to finding out your horn takes a whole second and a half to actually make some kind of noise, to finding out the battery only lasts one God forsaken hour. If you live in a city, don't rent this bike. If you live in a picturesque town, where you don't have to worry about time, traffic or safety all you buddy Otherwise stick with Citi bikes.

App is pretty but buggy. I scanned the code to start a ride. It failed but the App still charged me money. I also couldn't ride anymore other bikes and I HAD to fill a form on website to ask for refund. Also term and condition a0fter registration is super long and unreadable - I'm sure no one reads it, why not make it shorter and readable by regular people?🙄 Who has time to read T&C and fill another form ?

Edit: They refunded the ride after I contacted the support team. I'll bump my review to 2 stars because this should still never happen but at least they reacted correctly. Huge warning: they were unable to unlock their vehicle and even told me so in the app. There was no ride visible in the app even after multiple restarts but they still charged 32 minutes. They're literal thieves. I hope they refund it soon but this should never happen.

Terrible first experience, seen a wheels bike at the park and decided to take a ride. Downloaded the app and turned on the bike and speaker worked but bike wouldn't ride and said it was in the same place when I took it outside of the park area. On the app the time was going but bike didn't work. Now I owe wheels for nothing. Bike DGDS doesn't work if anybody runs into this bike don't use it don't waist your time and money!

Fix the DAMN APP!!!! If it wasn't for the horrible app and terrible customer service the scooter would get 5 stars, but because every day there is a connection issue or you can't start the ride from the app at all definitely lost my business. I don't think anyone should rent from here unless the app has it's bugs fixed.

Edit: Incorrect bill was addressed and refunded by Support. It's unfortunate that the app bugged out on me and that I had to contact them to get this looked into, but at least the Wheels Support has been great. Raising to 2/5 stars as the product still needs fixing before I would try again. AVOID. Instant uninstall and will talk to my credit card provider for being billed for non delivered services. I installed the app thinking the bikes look pretty neat. Entering my billing info didn't work properly numerous times at first, and the moment it did work after all, the app showed I was already riding for 40 minutes (and I had not touched a bike at this point yet). Cancelling or ending the ride didn't work as the GPS location didn't work. Still got billed. Still waiting for support.

Application is buggy, several retries were needed to end my ride. The service is not competitively priced; the same ride was 2.26€ with Dott and 4.16€ on my way back with Wheels. You are seated though but considering the bumpiness of most streets in Brussels, it felt pretty uncomfortable.

It was really awesome. The ride quality was also great. Unlike the standing scooter, where there is a slight bump in the road and entire system jolts like crazy. Only 1 thing is, privacy agreement was in Dutch, the language which i dont speak. But anyway who reads those, anyway you have to agree.

So Awesome...Just do it! I did the weekly rental, I live in Staten Island NY. I filled out the request form, made my first payment plus a $25 refundable deposit for the charger. The bike was delivered to my home three days later. I kept the bike for 7 weeks because I loved it so much. It was the most fun I have had on an electric bike. The only con is the seat is so hard. Upon returning the bike they came and picked it up exactly when they said they would be there.

The app is useless. I have been over charged multiple times now. As they have bugs that do not allow the ride to be stopped. They do not have a customer service phone line to get help. And 50% of the time you're unable to open scooters. Another 40% of the time the battery of the scooter dies in 5 min. The scooters itself are awesome. But the app is 1 big scam. Watch out, as they happily over charge you.

Had a terrible glitch that did not allow me to end my ride. The battery was dead, but the app continued to charge me. Emailed support to refund the 30 minutes-one hour in which the bike remained on. Signed on as a transporter for my first run and picked up 3 bikes and dropped them off at the service hub. 2 of the bikes had dead batteries so the bikes GPS wasnt registering at the hub. Per procedure, i took pictures of the bikes and the QR codes and emailed them to support. It has been over a week and not only have i not been been paid for the two bikes, i have yet to even hear back from support. This company is a joke! Don't waste your time working for them because you won't get paid.

Wheels suck, just another ovepriced scheme to take your hard earned money. I used it once and got charged 2x $5.00 and $3.49 the next. Only used the bike for not even a minute and apparently crossed into a no ride zone that is not even on the map while getting charge to drag this stupid bike until I unlock it away from the "restricted area" that is not illustrated on the map. Got 3 wheels scooters. They kepted pinging me in different locations and shutting off while continuing to charge me. Best scooters in orlando right now is spin and razer. Wheels suspended my account without advance notice and without explanation. I learned this when the app would not unlock a scooter, and this was prior to the coronavirus. When I contacted support, they said only that the account is suspended and refused to give a reason after I asked for one a couple times. I have no problems using Bird, Lime or any other scooter app. Several months later, still suspended without explanation.Very poor service.

Good Idea but, terrible customer service. You will be lied to and ignored. If your bike needs matainence, you will be charged $20 on top of your subscription fee for a replacement. Don't bother trying to contact customer support, they are just as bad. Also, the Website states that Wheels provides Helmets for its riders but that's a lie.

It could be great... but there are a few issues that need to be fixed. So the app doesn't show any of the no-ride zones. It crashes constantly. If you have a subscription with unlimited rides you still get charged for rides. Bikes don't say battery level before you turn on bike. Customer service could be better and faster too. Other than that, the ride itself is much better, faster, and safer than the scooters. I truly hope they fix these bugs quickly because if not they are done for...

This app has some great potential. However it definitely needs some improvement. My private rental delivery was delayed because they set it up on a day they don't deliver. I'm getting charged for rides even though I have a subscription. I am constantly having to use a second account because app constantly crashes forcing you to be stuck in a ride you can't use or end, but get charged for. You can't tell if a bike is almost dead before you rent it, but still get charged. Customer service is slow.

It has a lot of potential. It's actually very fun. Better seats would be great. Your behind ends up feeling bruised from all the bumps. Could be avoided with a bigger seat, rather than the slim one it has. And my biggest issue is having to PAY to unlock when 9/10 the scooter is either dead or doesn't work. I also kept getting Error messages for like 15 minutes until it decided to work.

I've used this a few times between November and February. My last trip using this was on February 15th. I was charged for that same trip 3 times with an additional $9.99 on top of that. When I reached out to have this mistake corrected, I received an email back saying that they cannot lift the BAN because I violated their policy when it comes to payment information. That was all the explanation that was given to me. I followed all instructions in the app and they screwed me over. DO NOT USE.

The app is not great, there is no way of knowing if a scooter is out of service or not, yet it appears as an available scooter on the map. On top of that there is no information about battery percentage, so good luck finding a fully charged scooter for longer trips. The scooters themselves perform pretty average, slightly underpowered in my opinion (got one with about 20 maybe 25% so might be because of that). Prices aren't exactly great either. Wouldn't recommend unless you must sit and ride.

Absolutely horrible experience. My first time trying a bike it wouldn't start. Couldn't figure it out because nothing is intuitive about the app. Finally found a shoelace caught up in the back wheel. By now I had been charged $2.74 for an unusable bike. I walked nearly a mile out of the way to get to a bike on the map. Scanned it and it says "down for maintenance." That would have been nice to know. I walked to another one, rode it for 10 mins (fantastic btw), then it turned off because I was in a restricted area. I was on the official bike route in San Diego along Harbor Dr. in a marked bike lane. I was 1 mile into the restricted zone before it cut off. Why not immediately? It wouldn't let me end my ride in the RZ! I had to push for 1mi!

First time user, willing to amend my rating but have to tell you the photo/park your bike or $5 charge is super misleading. Kept moving my bike around, thinking it was parked incorrectly. I would imagine that will turn off a number of riders right away. ESPECIALLY when it's like the first customer interaction, after parking bike. Smooth ride, nice bike, much safer I think than scooters. But REWRITE that $5 verbiage! Thank you.

Uhhhgggg!! Didn't work right. I tried this for the first time, the problem was when I dropped it off. I drove where I was going, pulled into a bike parking area with 10 Lyft scooters and turned it off. The app then told me it was a no stopping zone and I had to move it out of the zone. Ok 'Ill move, But, I couldn't started it again. I tried for 10 min. I finally gave up. If they charge me for more than my 3 min ride I will dispute this until the end of time No place to text or call.

The bikes are fun, the app and the service are both awful. After my first ride, which about 8 minutes, no receipt was issued and I got charged $9.99. When I emailed to resolve the issue, the service agent simply canceled my account and responded that they regretted to inform me my account has been closed. No refund given. The poorly designed app does not offer ride history or any other way to call for service other than the form. This joins the long list of crappy ride sharing apps

This app is damn near useless, and super frustrating. Most of the bikes you find are damaged; either brakes have been tampered with, someone has tried to remove the GPS locators or they cut the tires. OR you cant end the ride after. don't park anywhere near a red zone\city, bc it wont reset your bike connection. I spent 8 minutes of a 30+ minute ride trying to find a spot at least a blocks outside of the no parking area, just to get my paycheck. find another app, metro or get a bike.

Edit: I found out the hard way that Wheels now charges a "$2.99 minimum fare" fee which means my 3 minute work commute rides went from $1.75 to $2.99 now. Dropped a star for this and will be riding a lot less now. Both the bikes and app work as intended for me; however, I'm really disappointed with the bikes' speed as they are supposed to go 20 mph and I can't seem to go more than 16 mph tops. Also, the app really needs the ability to see the battery level on bikes plus a ride history section.

I never write reviews but this app is so shoddy that I feel compelled to. It simply doesn't work. I tried to unlock a scooter and it kept saying I needed to turn the bike on. So it didn't work, fine, but to make things worse, it hit my credit card with over 20 charges, adding more every hour or so. Ultimately, I woke up the next morning with over $40 missing. Customer support eventually helped me get refunded, but I can't recommend that anyone use this app until these glaring bugs are fixed.

Units are when trying to end and resume sometimes get stuck in a screen with flashing zeros and on the app it says on ride then you hit the red accidentally end button and says unlocked after and it's still locked in flashing zeros. Charging you and then someone else rides off after you tried to lock it and runs up funtime for whatever the time limit.

I would also vote 0 stars if I could. I've tried more then 10 times with these bikes and have only got 1 successful trip. That trip I rate 10 stars. Bike is fast, stable, and affordable. But all the other times, the bike didn't turn on, charged me 1 dollar for a bike that died in 1 minute, then now that I have 15$ credit on my account there is an error code after I scan the QR code. Please fix this, i really enjoy these bikes. If all the problems were fixed. Wheels.co would be the best.

If I was able to give 0 stars I would. I had a miserable experience my one and only time using Wheels. The bike I attempted to use did not work. When I attempted to end the ride where I picked up the bike it would not let me, so I took the bike to the nearest parking area some distance away. Transporter is fun, but the app is not! I was able to unlock a transporter easily enough, but immediately after unlocking, the app closed itself out to display my phone home screen. I rode it for less than 5 minutes, and the widget display was showing that I was still on a ride, but would not let me cancel the ride. App is great, it's really useful to get around, but the price hike makes it much less attractive compared to other e-bike/scooters. Wheels is the most enjoyable one around, too bad it's $0.35 a minute. I'd rate it 5 stars if it wasn't for the price hike and minor hiccups with activating bikes

I rode around all of downtown Atlanta hoping to find some bikes to return them back to a hub and I only saw 1... It was dissapointing mostly because the app showed so many bikes that needed to be brought back but found none. Im not sure if the GPS is off or if people are just bringing the bikes in their homes since you can just move them without pay. I'll give this another go at it during the daytime and see what happens.

So this has got to be the most frustrating app malfunction ever. I open the app and it immediately decides to charge me a $5 pre authorization fee which is to be expected accepted never unlocks of fight and refuses to put the $5 back into my account. I decide to submit a ticket but the website won't allow me to submit it. So other than this there's absolutely no way for me to let them know that they just stole 5$ from me

the bikes are woefully underpowered to go up hills. I literally stopped. I have no idea why the bike doesn't tell you the charge level BEFORE you unlock it. my first ride took 3 bikes before I found one with any charge. fix those 2 issues and this is a great idea. otherwise you might as well uber up any hills.

Don't bother being a transporter. I tried to locate 3 of the wheels and couldn't find them. It was not nice areas and I walked a 2 block radius. Unless they want you to go into people yards. Or the gps is sending you on a treasure hunt and you will come up empty. Also originally it was supposed to be $5 each. But it was only $3 each in Chicago. Fail. And deleted.

I tried Wheels for the first time 3 days ago and I tried scanning the barcodes on the vehicles but it never worked. After several attempts I gave up. Wheels charged me $10.85 for no reason, even though the vehicles never up and running. I wrote an email to their support address and never responded. That's how unprofessional this company really is. I still want my money back, I will be disputing the charges with my bank. This company is a fraud.

This app is completely unreliable! One day it works, next day it repeatedly freezes. Then crashes before I can scan the damn code to unlock the bike. The map is often wrong in locating bikes. The bikes could use bigger seats and bit more power, lots of hills in the downtown Atlanta area. It's usually hard to find one between 5pm - 7pm, or find one that isn't offline. I prefer the bikes over the standing scooters, a bit more fun. But I hope reliability and availability will improve. Until then 👎

As it stands, this ENTIRE service is trash. Firstly, there are never any bikes where they say they are located. Secondly, I tried to use the app today and it failed. Took my money and i didnt get to ride. So as of right now, i am waiting to see what customer service is going to do about my issue. Then i can rereview. This is very irritating and dissapointing.

Ended my ride at 18 minutes. App refused to let me end the ride. Kept telling me I was in a non-stop zone. Battery died trying to find an acceptable drop zone so I wound up having to push the bike. I finally found a place it would accept after 37 minutes. I was literally adjacent to other bikes and it wouldn't end the ride. Eventually after moving it inches at a time, it ended the ride. Horrible service.

It cost more but you get more. The brothers were right there is definitely a market for this vehicle. It's much safer than the stand up, higher center of gravity etransportation, and therefore ideal for those of us who are challenged in the *art of balancing well. And for all of those challenged in general the app is easy enough to use also! Ha!! Have a nice day! * contingent upon how many pops you have had -JAWS

Super fun to ride, and generally cost efficient. However there have been 2 times that I was excessively charged and even though wheels are the most fun to ride, I will choose them last every time because to me there is no guarantee they will end the session when I want. I have also contacted the company regarding these instances and there has been no response.

I've used wheels to ride around L.A. it's definitely a fun and enjoyable experience but there's some issuses. First issue is that I should be able to remove all payment options if I so pleased. Second, the bikes are clumped in a small section of L.A. and instead should be spread out more. Third, the app should display a bike's battery percentage. Other than that 👍.

So I signed up as a wheels transporter and for some reason either the bikes are missing or the app is not getting the right location of the bikes. I tried to find like maybe 5 - 6 bikes earlier and couldnt spot not one. I know they are around because it comes up on the maps now why I cant find them is the question. I have used the maps on my phone plenty of times, so I know it cant be the map itself?? I believe it is the bikes overall or maybe it could be the maps whom knows but I gave up....

After I contacted the support for refund for a bike I didn't ride due to an issue with their technology. Let's review what's going on ... People wake up this app and the ones like it are the biggest scam that this country has seen yet no one is seeing it. How so? These companies charge you up front knowing that not all their devices are working 100% they charge you and when the device doesn't work... Now you lost a $1 to unlock / plus time now even worse the app doesn't show ride history

It's a resource hog, especially battery power. When you are out looking for a device they aren't where the app shows them. The app errors out all the time when trying to navigate to a bike. They need to take some hints from Pecachu. The errors though, that is unexcusable.

First time ever using these. Great idea to rip around the city and for a fun alternative mode of transportation for vacationers like myself. My wife and I went to California for the first time and saw these things all over the place. Reluctant to download the app and actually give it a try my wife convinced me it would be fun....and it was! It's unfortunate some people throw them on the ground when they are done. This was a fun experience for my first time in L.A. Thanks

It was my first day being a transporter in the downtown Atlanta area. Besides the fact that most of the bikes aren't even where the map says they're at when I finally got done and found my hub to bring the bikes back to. I wasn't able to successfully drop off my bikes due to an unknown reason that the app won't help you out with. So I ended up wasting my entire days worth of stressful navigation and finding, only to drop off the bikes where this mysterious "hub" was supposedly. I worked for free

So like any normal person would i dismounted the device to look for one that hopefully would not have the same mechanicle problems as the first device. i prefer this to all the scooter apps, but it definitely has some work to improve the app as well as the bikes (a decent amount of them are falling apart). I would have rated higher but they just bumped the price up, no longer making it the best option from a pricing standpoint. Will be switching to JUMP bikes or metro bikes.

App needs a major overhaul. Scooter Location Icons are very inaccurate. The Icon is either a block away from the actual location, on the other side of the street, or the scooter is no where to be found. GPS is also inaccurate. You start walking and the icon the indicates you will stay stationary until you're a few meters from where you where then it goes from where it was to a few meters ahead of you. Also, please add a Report Stolen button. Couldn't find a scooter at all a few times already.

Do NOT be a transporter for this company. I literally just spent 2 hours driving around the city trying to be a transporter for them. None of the GPS markers were accurate for where the bikes were. I tried about 6 different times to locate different bikes around Los Angeles, and then the ONE bike I did find and scan, gave me an "error 403" message on my app. Wasted time. I wouldn't even trust them to pay me. Do not be lured in by the prospect of easy money. It definitely is too good to be true.

Firstly it does charge for unlocking it. secondly It stopped right in the middle of the street without warning. When I pulled it to the side and tried To end the ride it would not let me saying that i could not park it there. Had to walk all the way back to the zone while it was racking up charges. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! Never again, I'll just stick with lime.

uhhm wheels if your team is watching this comment i just want to say that there is a hack to get the bike for free, and you guys should fix it. i found out by my friend, but i believe it's wrong to hack. so to get it free you have to take picture of the code and then when the bike says open and it turns on he runs away far away, and after a minute he comes back and after 30 minutes or more it says that the cost was free. he had done it for a few weeks now.

I was very disappointed in my experience with Wheels. We did not get to ride the scooter bike because the battery life died so quickly. Had problems finding another one to try, and not even sure how much it charged for the few minutes that we did to be on it. Have been trying to find a contact number to speak with someone about the balance and to see if they also delete my credit card information. Of course have not had any luck with that. Be careful when trying to rent these scooters

I gave it a 2 star because the application is not accurate we spent more time locating wheels then expected. the availability of them are not correct and to continue located them was a bomber. then when we finally located them had a couple problems with unlocking as well as damaged bike so again we wasted riding time to locate new proper working bike. finally they need 2 display a map of the area we kept stopping and had 2 reactive several times

Beware of "Free" unlock. Every bike says "free to unlock" but they charge $1 anyway. App is so bare bones that you cant even see a rental history. Only after you get the charges from the credit company do you realize that youve been taken. Bikes vary greatly in quality so be sure to check out bike thoroughly before you ride.

It's a scam. Badly managed at the very least. Free to unlock, 0.35c a minute. Went for 5 minutes and turned off and took photo and got charged almost $20. Can't delete card. Can't close account. Feel scammed. No transparency. No record of ride or cost through app. No complaints process on app or website. No audit trail. They end up charging what you like. Uninstalled. Would not recommend.

Great ride but had issues beginning my first ride on 1 bike and after 2 minutes of trying to figure out it wasn't a user error but in fact a technical issue, "ended" the ride but was still charged. I immediately got another bike but during the ride the app malfunctioned despite still riding it. I was not able to "end ride" and could not verify if charges incurred or if the ride in fact ended. I will have to follow up with my bank to make sure I am not overcharged. Please add a "history" option.

Great bikes. Bare bones app. Wheels bikes are far superior to the other electric scooters. The app worked for me, I could unlock bikes and ride with no problems. It also worked well for my friends who all have different phones Location doesnt seem real accurate, there's just so many electric scooters and bikes in san diego that as a user you'd have to be blind to not find one. Could be a real challenge for transporters though. My main complaint is I can't get receipts with the app.

I don't say this lightly - shockingly bad. Doesn't indicate "lack of support" for your OS until you actually go to scan. Can't revoke your credit card information from your account because it "requires at least one card on file" which is a moderate security flaw. Unnervingly poor software all around. Such a sketchy first impression that if/when this particular card is compromised, I'll assume it had something to do with this app. EDIT: the copypasted developer response ain't a great look either!

Absolutely awful location recognition. As a transporter, I had picked up nine scooters with my pickup and attempted to leave them at available hubs. After being unable to deliver even one single scooter at any of the four hubs I went to, I finally gave up for the night. I was literally right on top of the indicated location and was told that I need to move closer to the hub marker. I felt that after driving all over town I had my $37 worth of earnings held hostage due to shoddy technology.

The markers are off so I rarely find the scooters I am looking for. Icons for available to sell scooters still show after others have claimed them. One instance I couldn't receive payment for one scooter because it said it wasn't near the hub and another time I couldn't even scan the barcode. One thing that could be added to help transporters out is having the last person who used the scooter take a picture of where they left it. All in all great potential but poorly executed.

Having suffered from arthritis for 17 years, this is truly an answer to prayer!!!!! I got to explore so much and it was just what I've always hoped for! The driver pickup needs a lot of work. 6 out of 7 bikes i tried to pick up were not there. I feel cheated because I did my part getting to the bikes, but the app was wrong about them being there. They need more updates on bike locations and a reservation system so you dont drive to a bike someone else is already picking up and waste your time. I made $5 in an hour and a half. All of that wasted on gas. I do not recommend driving for them

The actual bikes are great (San Diego, used during promotional free period), but the app needs some work. The main issue is, the map won't show you where to find them unless you're already in the area. For example, from our hotel in San Diego we couldn't see if there were any available im downtown, where we were headed. There's no way to see which cities have vehicles available from the map.

The idea is a great one and could have been a better service than bird or lime or razor but the apps execution was a complete mess and fail. I used these for a bit and got fed up with looking to find one and some homeless group using it as a charger or just not being anywhere near where it was said to be. Then I decided to change my payment method notcied no menu or ways to do so I figured like other apps in early stages I could just uninstall and re-install the app and redo my payment info just to come to find out theres quite literlly no way to log back in and I can't even attempt to use this service anymore. So to be honest great concept but your guys app sucks your buisness execution sucks and you have no support to contact to fix the problems so overall I would say I will never use this service again.

My friend tried unlocking a scooter a couple weeks ago in downtown San Diego. We tried for over an hour, with no success. It would say the credit card was scanned, but when we tried unlocking it would ask to scan our card again. And it would take forever to get it to scan the card again. It was the most aggravating thing ever! We live in the Gaslamp District, so we were looking forward to having free rides till the end of October. After seeing what she went through there was no way I was going to try it. Oh well... I guess I'll keep riding bird...

Another great way to get around San Diego, though a more Accurate GPS system on the wheels would be great because the location on the app seems too inaccurate sometimes. And an estimated battery indicator in the app for the scanned bikes would also be nice and will avoid paying for a dead vehicle.

There should be more than one barcode sticker to scan. If it just gets scratched some how theres no other way to start it up. App has some growing pains. Tried to unlock a bike just after install, but the bike must have had a bad or dead battery and wouldn't turn on. App locked me in a cycle of trying to unlock that un-unlockable bike. Had to uninstall to get out of the cycle. On second install, wouldn't let me login with my phone number (throwing errors that the number was in use) so I had to use a different number. I used this app for one of the scooters. When I went to end my trip, the app gives me an error that their network may be too busy. The scooter is disconnected and won't work now. There is no way to access anything else on the app while you're in a ride. I called customer service number on the scooter and nobody answered. I left a message and sent an email about the error. 6.5 hours later I've had no response and the trip is still going. I restarted my phone and the app, doesn't fix it. Now I uninstalled app and can't log in because it is only set up to create new account and my phone number is already registered.
