After being forced to purchase a new unit, directly from Viper, unit worked for 2 months. Then it stopped working. Found I was sent a bad unit. Got another new unit. Works perfect. Location is dead on. Now I have my peace of mind back.

The app is very good on my S21 ultra, especially it is lightning fast responds with the upgraded module. Unfortunately this app is not available for the galaxy watch series. They have it for apple watch users, why not the galaxy watch users? It would be very convenient for peoples who have the galaxy watch can start their car without taking out their phone, not just for apple watch users. For that I minus 2 stars, hopefully the developers can create one for the galaxy watch.

The app works amazing! It is very fast, not as fast as your traditional OEM remote and I think that might just be based on cellular sending and then receiving but the range you can use it at outweighs the millisecond quicker. Your OEM door fob may be, but if you're a inpatient man like me sometimes pushing the button and having to wait to watch the thing go around for one second is one second too long

Once my Viper system was installed it's so easy to lock, unlock, and start my car. I periodically check the status and location if my car...it's shows up on the screen.

Since the update I can't even login to the app on my phone. Left me stranded when I left my keys in the car. I also can't check my account info. 😕

I really enjoy this app but viper needs to get this app fixed. The notifications are delayed, the app says my car is not responding even when I know the device has signal, and I get random notifications saying my car is unlocked or locked at random times and makes me freak out

The smart start app and system are good but could be better. I paid for the package that monitors the battery level but that feature does not work. I get error messages on my phone when I remote start the car but it starts fine. I use the app more than I thought I would 4/5

I've been using Smart Star for probably around 8 years or so.. very, VERY rarely have any issues. Once in a while it can be a little glitchy,, but again, VERY rarely. In all those years maybe had 4 or 5 slight glitches. It's a great app!! I highly recommend!

At 1st it was great, especially the pre start warmup, where you set the time and it would start automatically. But a few yrs ago, viper cut that part out on their premium 3 year service account.

You cannot control the sensitivity or adjust it by yourself you have to go to the sealer you installed. It's something that as a costumer we need to have we paying more than 400 dollar for the alarm plus the membership of 13 dollar a month we need to have access to adjust the sensitivity of the alarm

My wife and I, I would say, are above average intelligence, but this app has got us miffed. I registered and logged in, but nothing works. But the actual remote car starter decides when it wants to work and when it doesn't. Please stay away from this app or the Viper remote starter. Let me be the one who gets frustrated, not you.

$700 For What?? I have to hit the start button THREE different times before the app tells me my car is running. I get a 702 error message each time. But get this...it actually starts after the first time! Customer service takes days to return messages. Once they finally did they told me I had to bring it back to the dealer, an HOUR from my house. I've had it for a week!! Never again.

Best security investment! Can view the car location at all times and get alerts when the alarm is triggered. Option to set valet options so the car won't go pass set milage. Peace of mind and easy to set up and use.

It has been working great. The last 3 days I have not been able to use it. Keeps saying I have poor cellular coverage. It's the same coverage I've had since I got it. Nothings changed. I'd be nice to start using it again.

Had this installed on a car in January. The car was totalled 4 days later. While in service it worked great everywhere for me. Easy to use and set up. Trial period ended just as new car arrived and I found that it didn't need it. (Car has its own service and app) Smartstart was very good about canceling and refunding the 3 yr plan I had chosen when I first got it installed, and no longer needed. Still have the unit and will have it reinstalled and activated again if another car needs it.

I always know when my car starts or moves 24-7 and it's location. Great way to find out when valets are moving or going for a joyride. I had a problem with app but the support team talked me through it and has been working great since.

Worst app ever! I am constantly having log in issues with this app. It stops working after being logged in for so long so you have to log out and log back in and EVERY single time it does not recognize my password so I have to reset it and then it proceeds to not recognize the new password it automatically sends me and I get locked out every time. If I could get a refund I would so fast. DO NOT BUY this autostart! It is NOT WORTH the app trouble that comes with it.

App won't let me sign back in. I have had this app for a little over a year now. It signed me out and now I can't log back in. I have tried uninstalling it, using forgot password and still tells me UN/PW incorrect. This really needs to be fixed.

Useless after latest update. Sheesh, Smart Start is unbelievably, beyond terrible. The app doesn't even open. I click send feedback alright. But the next screen says I have no wireless Internet connection. Huh? Google Maps, YouTube, etc, are all working. The app hasn't worked properly since 3/21. Yes, almost 1 full year! I had high hopes each succeeding updates would fix the app, but nooo.. When it did work, the app was excellent. I am done with this app. Will not be renewing subscription!

I have peace of mind having this app installed on my phone in conjunction with the viper alarm system on my vehicle. I sleep better at night knowing my car is secured. I know if my car is tampered with I will receive an instant notification 3 ways push notification, text message, and email. The only complaint I do have and wish it can somehow be updated in the future would be adding a notification feature on the viper app for the warn away chirp just how it works on the fob.

Support not available on weekends. It's a nice app but when it doesn't work correctly you can't get support after 5 pm Monday thru Friday and they are closed Saturday and Sunday. I work in an area that uses a lot of wifi and Bluetooth technology so my key fob does not always work properly so i rely on the app. I'm locked out of my app and support is not available for 2 days which is Monday. The app is not recognizing or letting me change my password or user name.

So I've had this smartstart for a little over a year and all of a sudden on one of the coldest days in Michigan I'm locked out of my account. I tried to create a new password and a temporary password was sent to my email. That doesn't even work..... I'm paying money to be able to start my car from anywhere and I can't even do so. Fix this!!!

Great vehicle security system. In combination with a great dash camera, the Viper app is almost like standing in front of your vehicle, and watching it yourself. Easy to navigate and excellent customer support.

Most of the time it works well. Sometimes it won't make connection. It happens when the vehicle has not been driven for a day or two. But I am happy with the service thus far. Thanks to Alonzo Chapa I used his advice and solved my app is temporarily locked for security reasons. Go into app erase cash and data force stop and just log back in worked like a charm.

Just Installed yesterday and it is good to go no problems yet very informative screen. Update : It is now January 2022, I like all the options that the the app has to offer for locking unlock start your vehicle all thequal although one thing is knowing if your engine is running or if it is off that would be a great adage. Add that feature and I would then give it a 5*

This app used to work really well. It no longer works. I use the latest Samsung Note 20. I'm looking at my car which is 50 yards away. I use AT&T, there are no updates available. I've uninstalled and re-installed the app, AND I have the best damn internet speeds money can buy, and NADA. When I'm on the streets, with no wifi coverage? Don't even think about it.

Love it! Auto start heats my car up or cools it off before I even get into it. GPS tracking needs a little work it is not accurate/precise but it does pinging it in the general area.

If anyone else's log in has been "temporarily locked for security reasons" I was able to get through to Viper and they were very helpful! 1 Go to your app info. 2 Clear cache and clear data. 3 Force stop the app. 4 Open app and log in. If it says you have attempted login too many times, you might have to wait some time or call Viper and have them reset that, which is what I had to do. GOOD LUCK!

Got locked out of my account multiple times and redirected me to a help page where my issue was not listed. Was not able to find any other way to get help. Eventually after a few days of not being able to use it my account unlocked. Other than that I really like the app and it is way better than my previous system through Jeep (Uconnect).

Kia Sorento does not have a factory car starter with alarm. I give the guy 5 stars for working so hard on the installation. It took a week to install. It does work but when I use the Viper SmartStart to start the car. I have to use my phone to get into the car and when I step on the brake the car shuts down and I have to restart the car. I can't use just the fob to start the car and get in the car because if I use only the fob I have two alarms going off. Good job. Thumbs up. Thanks Heinz.

I renewed my service in November. The app worked perfectly fine but this week it keeps telling me that the command failed and to check my internet connection. My internet connection is just fine. This happens everytime I renew my plan. If this isn't fixed, I want a refund.

Paid for install and upgraded plan. Gps worked fine for a while (About 1 year). Now GPS is non existing / non responsive. Customer service found a problem and advised me to purchase new system. Definitely stay away from.

Works fine for me except once during snow,I had vehicle remote started and running while I scraped off some snow. The doors locked with the keys in the ignition, lucky I had phone still in my pocket, I use the app to unlock the door, I wasn't sure it would've work, sign of relief that was. No idea why the doors locked.

Edit: my plan expired so I moved to a different one, one that doesn't show the received status from the vehicle. I'm still using it, and will run out the basic plan I'm on and renew the status info. It's nice piece of mind to know the doors locked or it's not running. Previous review - The app is no longer showing the status of the car (run time if on, or whether it's locked or not). Was an update the issue behind this?

App is pretty great but the smart watch part doesn't work which is really unfortunate as that would have been the most useful part. But I can only get the watch to unlock my car if my phone is unlocked with the viper app open and on screen which is pretty useless since I could just push the button on my phone at that point. What am I missing here?

Either the latest app update or compatibility Android 12 has caused issues with connectivity. Constantly tells me that I'm out of cellular range in places that it has worked plenty of times before.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I have contacted them email no response. Called spoke with someone. They said they would reset it. Still doesn't work. I have been receiving over a 1000 of alerts. Low battery. My charging system in my truck is good. The text starts about 1am. The update made it worse. FIX YOUR APP!!!!!!!!

Not bad need improvement. The remote start can easily start accidentally and no feed back from the car its been started, same for lock and unlock. Need to make remote as two action. Also smartstart always ask if I want to start the car if I have to pick up my phone and look then answer the message I would rather have a reminder in my phone to start the car.

App keeps slowing down my wifi. I have to log off to get wifi to speed up again. I'm using a s9plus that seems to be problem free. I'm having connection issues as well. The bluetooth module has very limited range. You would think it would use the responder as an antenna. Not sure if I'm going to keep trying to use this. There are lots of problems.

I have been a user for more than a year. I recently changed my phone and it was set up with Android 12 out of the box. This app did not work initially and reading some other reviews it seemed like it was related to the OS version. I was going to call to support but lo and behold the publisher released a new update today. I updated the app and now we're back in business. No question that the system works well, why though did it take that long to provide a fix?

If you're having trouble connecting your Bluetooth device like I did. I uninstalled then reinstalled the app and that worked for me. Frustrating that it stopped working all of a sudden, I hope that isn't something that continues! Other than that, I like the look and feel of the app.

Overall the service is good. Often the app has communication issues when trying to use functions. Use of the app on my smartwatch is convenient and easy also.

The app no longer works to remote start/lock/unlock the vehicle. I sent a help ticket to Dev and was informed cellular carriers are no longer supporting the communication protocol of my alarm module. The app WILL notify me of an alarm event immediately. I purposely opened the door with alarm 'manually' armed. Outgoing but NOT incoming?? I call B.S. on the cellular carrier "excuse" from Viper. They have disabled incoming communication to 'conveniently' offer me an 'updated' module for $100

No longer working for me. When I first installed the app, only the start button and lock/unlock was working. I got it back in September 2020, few months in, car battery died, not sure if there's any connection, then few months back, start button works when it want to, even when I'm inside and directly outside my car, then last week nothing work at all. Very disappointed

Every time I try to lock/start my truck it said to check my connection but I always have go reception . Costumer service told me that they changed from 2G to 4G and that if a wanted my smart start to work I'll have to upgrade . So disappointed that they didn't even bother to sent an email to let me know 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Great app and very nice addition over just having a 2 way remote. The alerts and GPS are worth every penny it cost for the premium GPS service since vehicle is stored miles away... Hope the smartview camera is available at dealers soon as mine had never heard of it

Custom service is terrible. They are rude and unhelpful. The app works well, but apparently the device I installed last year is now expiring and I have to pay to install a new module. Viper will not pay for this install and will not renew your service until the module is installed.

Replaced my key FOB with this app and the smart start module. Still getting use to using my phone to unlock and lock, but that's one less thing I have to carry around. App works ok, but the car response is really quick...about 2 secs. I hate that the dash doesn't show car status (running, armed, etc...). It's only shows it in the car settings and you have to refresh constantly. So, if I start my car from the dash, I then have to go to the car settings to see if it is actually running. Dumb.

Works exactly as it should. Edit. After a few months i have a new phone and this app is terrible when it comes to username and password. Basically, every tike i try to sign in, i get an error since im not signing in with my original device. It seems like a bug developers should have been able to address by now, but i have to go through customer service to be allowed access to my own remote start system.

Use the app several times a day, love it! I use both the lock/ unlock and remote start features. It's great that I can use it regardless of where I am or where my car is. I've used it in winter half way around the world to start my car in the airport parking lot to keep the battery charged. I don't ever carry the actual remote for smartstart because the app works so well.

PLEASE!! Add a feature for counting "warn away" chirps and the "cause" for the chirp. (Glass break, door bump) I'm having issues with the alarm. False chirps and false alarms. I'll get 6 to 10 warn away chirps a day. Alarm sets it's self off randomly, could go a few days in between alarms. Or it's twice a day. CARTOYS Can't figure it out, I want records to show this.

Works pretty well as long as I'm within Bluetooth range of my car. I had some initial issues with the car being remembered, but wiping app data and starting over seemed to fix that.

Overall good app it very accurate on location and the remote unlock/lock works great. It service its purpose for me . Only issue is that if the car is park under a garage or in a rural area ; the service will go out but that standard.

I have SmartStart installed on 2 vehicles for 6 years, 2000 Yukonand 2014 Cayenne. Very happy with the App and We love the ability to remotely start for pre cooling or heating. Also good for leaving our dogs in the car while running errands keeping temp control.. They love to ride along. Occasionally it cannot connect to vehicle, likely a network issue. About to renew service, they upgraded options that look great.

App locks me out very often for no reason because it says my saved pw is wrong. Doesn't show where vehicle is (my driveway) a lot of the time. No audible alerts and the sound changes from a standard notification, to a "vroom" and or a different "vroom" at it's will. Lockdown works sometimes but not all. The notification dot is sometimes a viper logo while most of the time it's a plain white circle. Cus Serv says that Android can't get the notification sound and dot they only iOS get.

Fast on the alert (only a few seconds). Way faster than the Tmoble by Metros car connecter. Very good remote door locks, too. Not used the car start feature.

It used to work perfectly. Then suddenly wi5h more and more frequency error messages started becoming the norm when i try to start or unlock my car. My phone had full bars but the app would say no signal. Viper needs to update their servers. I won't resubscribe!!! Can I give it zero stars?

Peace of mind! Very accurate in location and the app let's you know if you're lock or not on your dashboard, Also in case you forget to lock while you're shopping, You can lock or unlock your vehicle from the convenience of your cellphone. When the alarm is breached it really let's you know. Like I said, "It's all about Peace of mind"

Horrible. So apparently everytime you disconnect your car battery the alarm resets and so you have to go back to a licensed dealer and get it reprogrammed so bye bye auto start. And you can't update the alarm or change the settings so again only a dealer can do this and it ain't free or cheap. Needs work and options for non licensed people.

Pretty good app, directions more or less accurate - I had to add a step to link my car and app. The widget malfunctions - it remains on the home screen, but it's blank. Have to press the tiny bar at the top of widget to open app and start my car from it. Overall bluetooth connectivity improved with getting a newer phone with newer bluetooth - can turn on car from about 50ft away, previously had to be much closer. Taking 2 stars off for the constantly clearing widget.

Works 90% of the time. Widget works 10% of the time. Buttons on it disappear and phone must be restarted for it to work again, which again is temporary.

I have 3 issues, 1 every time I go into settings and click notifications I get a message saying "Couldn't retrieve user. Pls try again later" 2 every time I go into App settings then click Real time status reporting I get a message saying "Error unable to load real time status. Pls try again". 3 there should be a function to change your notification alert sound on your phone so when your car is being broken into at work you don't think it's just another app giving you a meaningless notification.

Had no problems with this app until recently. Now, when i attempt a remote start -my car it first goes into panic mode by setting off the alarm a few seconds before the car starts. I feel sorry for my neigbors but i have to stay warm.

The app has functioned without issues. Occassionally there will be network issues, but nothing that is long-lasting. Great app, great features. The only issue, which is MAJOR would be the customer service that's provided thru contacting roadside assistance. I purchased the premium package & only to be treated like an option, given no roadside assistance, & left wondering why I was being quoted a service price for a package that was ready paid for. I understand the labour fee, aside from this,idk

Always responsive and does what its supposed to do "start the car". The service plans are a bit pricey, but there are several plus features such as the roadside assistance and 2 way responder that lets you know whats supposed to happen...happens.

Not too bad but only starts car about 70 percent of the time. Notice says cannot communicate with vehicle. Manufacturer keeps wanting me to spend money on updating vehicle hardware everytime they update there software. Not going to happen.

It took awhile to get it going. After that it works pretty well it will start the car but the app tells you that it lost communication with the car but it is still working and you need to go make a visual check. Not good if you are in a big building or some place where you can't see the car from.

Very good. I work in large concrete hospital that has poor wifi. My old system would malfunction all the time. With the viper, my car has started without fail and without the app malfunctioning.

Excellent app to use with the Viper DS4 system with cellular remote. Ads limitless range to the system and allows remote monitoring and control. Also alerts you for low battery or alarm triggers. Only works with the Wear OS watches, I have a Samsung watch so it has the Tizen OS, which doesn't have a Viper app available, but not taking away stars for that.

Thanks for assisting with the repair of the system. As an upgrade the app should be able to swipe between vehicles rather than tape and select. The app should have the option of changing the idle runtime.

Works very well especially if you have the Bluetooth connectivity. I get about 50ft. Of bluetooth very helpful especially if you lock your keys in your car or you forget to grab them when you are running out to your car quick.

Spotty service, numerous error messages with or without the wifi on when using the app to start my car, couldn't even use my original fob to unlock my car while I was standing right next to it or with the app! I have only had it installed for 4 days and I'm already regretting it. Customer service won't even answer or return my phone calls.

Its been over a year since I had the Viper installed in my truck and so far I've only had one error code which was quickly fixed. Since then it has been absolutely fantastic. The Locate My Vehical is accurate and comes in handy. The Smart Start function warms-up the trucks cab in the winter b4 i climb inside and it keeps it cool in the summer. Fantastic!

Keep having the same issue where I start my car via the app but get no response back on the status of the car, running time etc. Used to work but no longer and there is no update for the app.

Very accurate with my location. I also can start my car from anywhere even in a different state. I like the features it has and the designs on it. However sometimes it says please check your service or location because your car cannot be found has been having a lot lately. But other then that I love this App...

Had it professionally installed, now 2 days later code 22 can't use app to start ,lock ,unlock car. Regret getting it. Jumped the gun on my first review. Customer service reached out to me right away and I was up and running again. I really like the app,its very simple to use and has the features that I like. Customer service is quick to respond to issues. Update 11/30/20 Reached out via email about a week ago about code 22. Still no response. Can't use app. Very inconvenient. What's going on

I'm currently locked out of my car, the app doesnt work, the bypass button to override the system doesnt work and tech support is down. It's been an hour now and nothing is working. What a nightmare.

It worked great until about a month ago and now I can't access any settings. Smart schedule, notifications, or smart fence. Just says error and sends me back to the dashboard. Absolutely loved the app until the most recent update, now the only thing I can do is start my car or lock it.

RUN AWAY! Viper SmartStart is horrible. It would be working 40 percent of the time if I'm lucky. Now recently it doesn't work at all and customer service said they can't fix it. I want a refund for the year that was paid in full on my subscription.

Very spotty service, it wont work sometimes even when im standing right next to the car. 50/50 chance of it not working at all at all times. Iv had to uninstall and reinstall app several times If there was an alternative i would switch.

Doesn't work anymore After an update awhile back the app stopped working. I was hoping this new update would correct the problem, but it didn't. I even tried to Uninstall and then reinstall hoping it would fix the problem. Nope. Now I'm stuck with this thing I paid for and it is useless

The app has continued to improve over time and works without error as expected. Easy to use and a great way to remote start your vehicle from almost anywhere. The interface is very intuitive and displays a great deal of information about your vehicle. Although some information is probably vehicle specific, mine shows quite a bit of information and I like that I can lock my doors if I walked away without locking the car.

I love the way I get notifications when my alarm is triggered. Obviously there is a delay for me to get notification but that's more of a cellphone thing. The screen menu is easy to navigate. Works great so far and I've had for more then 5 years now.

It is so cool, but most importantly it gives you piece of mind and real security. The Viper Smart Start is very user friendly and works without glitches. I would recommend it to anyone whose car needs better security. It also will save you money because you can't ever lock your keys in the car again and insurance companies will give you a discount.

App does what it's supposed to do, I would rate it higher if it was a bit more detailed with information, would like it to show that the car is actually locked, show battery status, if you have multiple users, show who turned it on. Also just a more updated look, other then that Viper is a great security system.

Works well, as advertised. I rate 3 stars because it sends an alert to my phone roughly 20 minutes after the alarm is triggered. It gives the thieves plenty of time to get away. Thief life-saving feature, i guess.

Could be so much better. They need to add the additional pages of the remote to this app. Along will all the advanced start options. The main remote is bulky and damages easily. My first one the screen went dim, my second one the sound went funky. You have the technology use it. Time to make this app a replacement for the remote not an accompaniment to it.

I've been having a problem with the app for more than 3 months I'm supposed to have the two-way command to let me know if the vehicle is running or if my doors are locked but nothing shows up on the app I upgraded to the GPS premium plan and it does nothing that it's suppose to do I can't even tell if the command went through to start my vehicle unless I go outside and check if someone could help me with this problem I'm having it will be greatly appreciated thank you

Excellent app! I've only had one issue when I tried to use the remote start feature: After multiple attempts it wouldn't connect to my vehicle so I logged off of the app and logged back in... everything has worked fine ever since.

Great app and does what I need it to. Wish it had other listings like the temperature and turn the heat or AC on and off. Otherwise it does what it needs to do. Starts/Stops the car, track the car with GPS, Lock/Unlock the doors and open and close the trunk.

Terrible app. Was working fine till a new update came out. Now the siren notification won't sound on my cellphone when my vehicle alarm is been triggered, try to set up notifications and give some message that notifications cannot be sent to the server, I call 6 times for help, most of the time they said my phone was the problem or to erase the app and installed again, I also tried with different phone and problem still not solved. Very disapointed

The app is terrible, I have a DS4+ without the smart start modual, but I am still supposed to be able to connect to it for very short range control (150 feet) . I have used a Samsung S20 + and a Iphone X neither phone can fine the DS4. I have confirmed that I am enabling the pairing mode with the valet button correctly. But still not one time has it found anything I've tried at least 20 times

Just installed viper smart start...on my two day trial. The app crashes every time i try to get my vehicle status. Uninstalled it and reinstalled it...still does it. Wont unlock or lock my car doors either..keep getting error 702. Really disappointed. Hope someone can help. Phone is a S10 plus. Thanks. Update 6/29/20: It works now. Thanks for your prompt response! It locks and unlocks within seconds of me sending commands. Awesome!

PLEASE CREATE SCHEDULED LOCKING FEATURE This app could be better with some updates and a few new features. For example, I'm driving a different car today and when I look at the map it shows my current location not the location of the car with the viper smart start installed. Second it would be great if there was an auto lock option. My leave times vary everyday so I have no use for a scheduled start.

This app was working great to the new update. Now every morning I can't start my two trucks from home. Called in three time problems not solved. I have to call in today the 4th time. Can they correct this problem. This unit lock me out and I am already logged in. Please correct this problem I have been using your unit since 2017. Problem free so can you correct this problem.

The interface is very poor compared to one of the inherent vehicles that I have equipped with GPS which runs ELO GPS app. Viper's interface is very poor in navigating, features, and ease of use. Pay for the small fleet and family plan to only have basic tracking and alerts available on the app?! You have to literally go through some hoops and hurdles to see breadcrumbs (daily activity of the vehicles movements/durations). To use all features you have to log on the webpage!? Not practical

Your app is trash. It only works 40% of the time if it works at all. So many times I have to restart the app over and over to try and get it to work and I pay you for this sub par service? I know it's not the phone cause I've done it from different phones in different areas.

I disconnected the battery. I'm having issues pairing the system for remote start. Alarm still works. Reset is self explanatory; I'm thinking hardware error. Other that that..., the system works great!

Easy to use and operate but I wish there was a proximity feature that would unlock my doors when I get within range of my car. Fumbling for the key fob with your hands full is a challenge.

They put this thing in my vehicle and tell me all the amazing things it can do but it does nothing well. Most of the gouges are not there. Error when there should not be, and works when I do not want it to. I do not have time to keep trying other systems $600 for mao that I can get for free through Google maps. POS device and app. Buyer beware. No documentation except brochour that flat out lies.

Have a full Viper / SmartStart system in 2 vehicles for years. The only system better was integrated in a Tesla. The atvantage of the Directed product allows for upgrade hardware, something Tesla resists. Just with Viper could be upgrades for drive and speed assist.

The 1st 2 days I was having problems with the Phone app which made me like dang & in doubt. But once I took it back to the installer he got Viper Customer Service on the line and after a few the I was home when the installer called from his shop saying over the phone Hey lock the doors/Unlock/ start the vehicle etc and I heard it all over the phone working how it should. Picked up my SUV and went home, waiting to try it when I'm way up in Texas and my vehicle is home in Florida.

Does not work. I've had the starter for over a year. The app has not worked once the whole time. I even emailed support and did get a return email stating they'd look into it, and then nothing. Luckily, I dont need it to start my truck.

The app is decent but it lacks a little fidelity. The security system can identify alarms to a number of zones but that's useless in the app since it only tells you an alarm in general was triggered (even just shock or tilt from wind) even if you're paying for the premium coverage. That would be a big improvement.

Just got the phone upgrade and it's great. Not sure if you can log in from another phone to start your car yet but upon initial review it doesnt seem so. I'll be looking more into that but I am loving the fact that I can start it anywhere and do not have to have direct line of site to my vehicle. I started off with only the push button remote option.....hated it. Could never tell when it started. Didnt start all the time either when it should have because its finicky. Do the phone upgrade. Must.

I love this app. I only give it four stars because I recently had Lost my ability to use it. As a last effort to fix it, I had to uninstall it and then reinstall it in order to fix the issue. Which wouldn't have been so bad now that I know that fixes it, but I spent days without it first.

The function has increased greatly since they have upgraded from a 2G to a 4G Network! There is still one intermittent glitch though. The App will say the vehicle started when it actually didn't. Once that glitche is fixed, I would give it a 5-star rating.

Smart start does not work everytime. There are times where I need to hit it multiple times b4 it finally starts. Also gps takes FOREVER to update which really sucks!!! The last command and status screens never show anything. I am VERY disappointed with this app. Paid ALOT of money for this system and to have it professionally installed. Not cool. Using galaxy s10.

I hate to sound negative and write negative reviews but this app suuuuuuucks! I've noticed that for me, it doesn't work 90% of the time. The other 10% I have to constantly restart the app and press the button to get it to activate my car. I've tried contacting the developer to let them know that it will not start my vehicle and never heard back from them. No help at all for a company who wants you to renew your services with them for $350 every 3 years.

Unfortunately I felt like I paid for a service that was hardly any good use to me throughout the year. Specifically speaking, the app was very hit or miss, and only worked 2 or 3 times out of 10 when I used it. Defeated whole purpose of having it. AND The app NEVER EVER started the car when I was home. I live in private two story home. The car is parked outside of my home. So from home I could only use the key remote start, never the app.

The Bluetooth module has never worked for me. Tends to have issues causing the BT connection to only last for an instant much of the time. And even when the BT connection is established, the app will report a successful lock/unlock/start, but my vehicle does not actually react.

This was a great app when I first got it 7 years ago, loved it but overtime it began to disappoint me and leave me locked out, however with the upgrade to the 4g module it is GREAT, no lag time, no wondering if its going to unlock, start, roll the windows down. Love this app and sure love getting into a warm car on a Colorado snow day

Terrible. App works intermittently. Made a ticket online and they immediately closed it without addressing my issue. Called customer service and they told me to uninstall and reinstall app. Did this and it worked for literally 10minutes. Very unreliable service and system.

Software update renders smartstart inoperable. Must re-enter code from the module inside the car. Great to learn at 10F in a hotel parking lot. No warning. Still getting charged for the connection service.

Poor product that is unreliable and frustrating.. it rarely works as intended , i can stand literally next to my truck and try to unlock with the phone app and it won't connect with the BT connection... Just keeps giving BT connection error.. then as soon as I get pissed and walk away it unlock the doors .

Spent 3 hours on hold on 3 seperate calls to customer "support", finally hung up. Sent emails and never get anything back, except the usual "we will be in touch". GPS locate only works half the time. Smart start message says "successful", truck never started. Tired of paying for a service I dont get to use.

Terrible customer service, emailed 3 times that my account is deactivated yet I paid to renew my service over a month ago. Called 4 times just to be put on hold for 20-30min and never get to talk to anyone. When the service is running the app works great but if you have an issue, buyer beware!

So far app works perfectly. Car starts within 5 seconds or so. Everything functions as it should. Just haven't figured out how to get it on my android smart watch and there is zero info anywhere on the internet.

It's been good, but for about a month, my widget hasn't been working. It shows up blank with no buttons. Now it says "inactive vehicle" EDIT: I've tried deleting the widget and making a new one. Reviewed the phone after too. It's still the same. I'm using a Pixel 3 with all the latest updates.

If I could give this app negative stars I would. It rarely actually works even when I'm directly in front of my car. It's incredibly ridiculous to pay so much money for an app that usually doesn't work. And for reference, there is nothing wrong with my car because it does start when using the keyfob starter, just not when using this app/service. I very strongly recommend that if there is another car starting app/service that people use a different one

Since last update you can't real time locate the vehicle. The function was replaced by SmartPark and is of no help. Just a useless pinpoint in case you'll forget where you parked but remember to pinpoint before leaving the vehicle's location.

Works pretty well but for whatever reason, sometimes while trying to remote start my vehicle, it will fail to start immediately. Theres no hang time so I cant assume it even tried to send the signal to the car. Trying again works though

I've had the system installed when I purchased my Highlander in 2015. It worked great for the first 2 1/2 years, summer for AC and winter for heat. The last 2 1/2 I've been having intermittent success in starting the car...I would say 35% of the time it works. Nothing has changed as to where I park my car for work or at home. However, the success rate seems to keep dropping. I wish it worked like it did when I first got the car and starter system.

Terrible app and even worse customer support. Had this starter for about 3 months and it just stopped working. Emailed twice and called couldn't get through at all on the phone and have yet to receive an email back beside the automated message saying the response time is one day, that was a week ago on the last email.

I have been using Viper SmartStart for 3 years now. I usually pay for the annual subscription package which is $69.99. This year, when I attempted to subscribe, it showed as successful yet I noticed two separate charges on my credit card bill by Viper for $99.99 each. I tried calling their customer support to resolve the issue and waited over 1 hour with no response. I attempted to send their support a message through the app. I have not gotten any reply from them. Negative experience.

When it works it gets 5 stars but I'm having technical difficulty right now. Viper Direct support staff could get a hold of me that would be great I paid for a subscription to SmartStart it seems to be. Deactivated error code 204. I had a customer service representative restore the connection five minutes later it was deactivated again any help would be great! Thanks

Just had the Viper Smartstart installed and I have to say it is everything I wanted in a remote start. Lots of cool alerts, especially the battery monitoring system it has incorporated into the system, very cool. Lots of cool things, the GPS, anti theft alerts just to name a few. Love this remote start system, top of the line and state of the art.....I'd reccomend it to anyone who is in the market for a remote car starting system. This app worked ok in the past, sometimes could not start the car. Starting few weeks ago, the app basically does not work 9 times out of 10. Tried reinstalling the app, no difference. Not sure if updates were done to the app, if the were, it made the app useless.

I installed this recently. It has worked great so far. I think is a bit pricey to set up with subscription but does come built in with gps. This way you dont need to keep a device reader in your vehicle port to get GPS. If any changes i will come back and modify my rating. Oct 10- I reduced 2 stars because I have to touch the smart start button 2 or 3 times to start it and still have not been fixed and am not getting notifications. I have already reinstalled app.

I have a ds4 with viper lcd 1mile remotes the remote says car started. The phone bluetooth starts the car but kicks back says the car couldn't start... the car starts perfectly fine. Also says my 2017 jeep renegade is not in park when just pushing the button with foot off the break. Aka I had 4x10 in the car worked perfectly fine. No problems at all. But 4x10s are no longer sold. The ds4 will not put the heated seat on but the 4x10 did and ds4 only let's you start your car for 15mins... 4x10 1hr.

Excellent app. The glitch is the Google map portion of it. I can not make it face the right direction. The car keeps going off the map grid. It should be able to stay on sync like regular Google maps app.

Holy cow fast! I compared to other brands and the new smart start is by far the fastest. By far. Is so fast I always use my phone to lock/unlock and start my truck. No more waiting to see if it worked. It works every time and you know it immediately.

The remote is awesome. Their customer service is absolutely the WORST. Very long hold times (over 25 minutes) each time I called. Emailed twice with only an auto response saying they would get back to me, but they never did.

Gotten this app after getting the starter installed, of course the first day it worked well. Logged out the app being it was one of a few draining the battery, now after signing back in the car info is gone! Who knew this would happen?! Now to make another trip to the place to have it added back to my phone...glad it is still hot out or I would truly be pissed. (added review) Now my car still start with just the remote fob but stays on for about 30 seconds which is turning out bad.

I got the app to work nicely and funny thing is...I find myself using this app more often than I anticipated. There were countless times I didnot plan on going into my car and would not have the keys with me. luckily I had my phone as backup to unlock my car :)

i really like this app. I still have the 3g module in my car so response time isnt probably as good as the 4g but it is fast enough for me. I still use the remote most of the time locking/unlocking my car. I really like the smart schedule feature. I also have it connected to smartthings and alexa (custom smart app needed in smartthings). I wish there was an app for the galaxy watch. I would bump it to 5 stars if they created that

Now it's getting better, when i start it with my phone it pick up good and I just added another vehicle. in the app it doesn't said which one is vehicle 1 or vehicle 2 that's bad, I just have to upload the cars picture. when I start the car it indicates me with the arrow but not showing the time remaining in the app, that's need to be fix not from the installer but from your app guys. When you will fix the app with a new version that has this featuring it's will be great.

The app itself is ok, though it does have limitations if your account isnt fully setup. If i had a better cellular signal from the vehicle, I could rely on the app alone...but, thats not taken for granted. The smartfence feature has major flaws, and I repeatedly get alerts I've left the area. Upon checking the location alerts, they are way off! When I perform a map check of where my vehicle is live, it works. I've made reports with screenshots and account data, but no response. Zero support.

SmartStart allows me to keep a very close eye on my car from anywhere I have A GPS signal. The convenience of being able to start my car remotely and monitor all activities involved with my car presents me with excellent security options.

This app works perfectly for me. I had a truck stolen and it haunts me to this day so I got an alarm for my car and this app tells me where it is, if it's locked, and if the alarm goes off. When I try to Smart Start from my fob it never works but the app does it every time. Highly recommend.

I purchased SmartStart for the remote starting. To be honest I have used the app for unlocking the doors. With it being satellite you do not need to be near the car.

I won't be joining again, it was a waste of money for a three year contract that doesn't work. there are very few times that it would say that it started the car only for me to go out in the cold weather to see my car isn't on. I'll say 1 out of 25 times it will work. save your money and don't pay for something that doesn't work. I didn't want to give this app no stars but it won't post it if I don't give it at least 1 star

I upgraded to the new module and it has a much faster response but after setting the geo fencing ( enter and exit) I get a text message that the vehicle has moved on my cell phone..my old module set off a siren to alert me when the vehicle moved or was speeding. I've called several times and hung up after being a hold for over half hour .. very frustrating. Wish I would have stuck with the old module.. wasn't worth paying for reinstalling it.

I have had this for a few years updated the system once because the old model was no longer covered by cell service. BUT where is the part where your smart watch can be used. I can get it on my Samsung phone but nothing for my watch and that was advertised back in 2015. I don't want to have to pull my phone out of my pocket after a long day of walking with a 3 yr old and drop and break my phone.

Horrible. None of the functions in this app work. I receive an error message regardless of what function I try. I have just spent almost $1000 getting Viper products installed on my 2018 Silverado. I wish I would have read the reviews 1st. A complete waste of money.

I wish this available for Samsung smart watch, now that would be breath taking and amazing. after trying this app it's pretty neat, I live on a basement hardly any reception with the remote, but with this app it works as expected I like it.

My Smart start stopped working after 1 year. I keep getting 'Runtime Not Available". I took my car back to the retailer. The service department fixed it but the very next day it stopped working. Too much aggravation for the money I spent on this service and app.

This system is junk. Only works about 20% of the time. I also have Drone Mobile on another car and it smokes this system! I only use it in the winter so it's super frustrating that it doesnt work. The only good thing I can say is the dashboard looks nice...but it still doesnt work most of the time.

good app to have..IF it ever worked. always shows no connection error, always says it cant start the car bcz of network connection even when im standing Next to the car ... app signs me out and doesnt allow me to sign back in. doesnt work from long diatance like it should. update: being told i need a Manual Cycle restart by authorized dealer... but when i go somewhere locally, im told i need to pay another $50 to have it done ecen tho its less than a month and the stupid company wants Me to pay

The idea of being able to start your car from your cell phone is great. Feature-wise, the auto start itself is fine. The app though needs some work. Why wouldn't they show the vehicle status on the dashboard with the icons? Seems like a really obvious thing to do, if the car is running, show that its running; if its locked/unlocked, show it. The fact that you have to go to the status screen and manually update it to find out basic info that would be visible on a standard two way fob is a serious miss.

Finally got it working. At this time works great without problems. Only thing is I wanted to pay for 3 years but I was unable since they only accept credit cards. If it was not for the credit card thing I would have giving 5 stars.

excellent app, easy to use. sometimes when the garage is shut it has a hard time connecting but thats more of a service area issue not the app. definitely most useful expense i have.

SmartStart is a very good concept but has some issues. My Smartstart fails VERY VERY often. It always says "check that vehicle is in a place where cell coverage is available"..I live in Chicago so needless to say there is an overwhelming abundance of cell towers..cell coverage is not the issue. I paid for a 3 year subscription due to these constant problems I usually just use the Viper remote. I hope they improve the servers/system they use because it's a very convenient feature if it works

This app/system is expensive JUNK not worth the high price. Favorable reviews are either fake or new to tech. Seems like Directed has been asleep at the wheel. For the cost, as consumers we should expect more from a co. that dominates this market. They are ripe for another vehicle alarm company to knock them off the map. Horrible app that works sometimes with weak, simple features that lack forethought, imagination and stability. BAD customer service. Directed ur alarm is sounding...wake up!

The app is ok. Not the best but ok. Signs me out periodically saying my password isn't correct, even though i never changed it or gives me a login error out of nowhere. Would be good if you fixed it. And oh yeah it would be very nice if there was an app for Galaxy gear. Apple watch has it already

75% of the time the app does not respond and won't connect to the alarm system. I have been locked out of the car numerous times and customer support sure isn't of any help either. I have contacted them numerous times and I never hear back. thanks for such worthless app which charges for a service that completely sucks!

I am trying to get a person on the phone or email to discuss my account. I have been on the phone for just over 4.5 hours total over 6 phone calls (I think I have been very patient). I have left 2 robo-messages to have them call me back to no avail. I have emailed them, heard nothing, then sent a sharper email asking for a response, and gotten a hollow, "We are experiencing a power outage..." and then, of course, didn't hear back. I emailed again...waiting, patiently... All I want to do is change my PREPAID account to an updated module. I am paying for the service NOW and would like it to work while I am paying for it! Otherwise the app is good, i guess.

Works half the time. I bought this thinking it was a good remote starter. Fails 1 of 3 tries. Whether it's locking or starting, doesn't matter. The best buy one I got on my last car was better than this.

I live in the city, so there's the infamous "Alternate Street Parking" 4 TIMES A WEEK!!!!!!🤬 This app helps heat up my car in the winter or cool the car in the summer before I get to it......which is sometimes 6 blocks or more from my home. I LOVE IT!!!

You are getting better. Lately, I have had no bug issues. It would be SUPER helpful though, if this app acted as a 2-way remote. It tells you that it started when in fact it did not. It would be helpful for it to act as a 2-way remote so that you know when it turns off. I live in Alaska and lately we are in a deep freeze so I have been starting my vehicle twice before I leave at night. Please make these changes...I will give you 5 stars if you do.

just had the system installed and the app is working fantastic. I had it installed when they were done it was late evening it took approximately 12 hours for the app to start working. Other than that 100% extremely satisfied

The viper smart pro and one way remote starter works perfectly. Installed good at Vision Electronic. The smart phone remote works far distance. from where it is parked at the airport parking to the other end of the airport I could start my car. Unlimited distance is great. If I am onthe the other side of Edmonton, Alberta and my wife need to get in the car at home. I can open it and start it from work. So cool. I love it and recomend this smart pro starter from viper. Do not need a line of sight

The APP is easy to use if only it wouldn't log me out half the time and then tell me my password is wrong, even though I never changed it. Then it gives me an error when trying to reset my password.

so far so good. however south shore long island has no bars. I'm in myrtle beach trying to check the status, ever where else seems to have good bars, I, have the 550. so it should be 4glte. it opens the trunk well I, love how it works with Google earth. one thing I, dont understand is that I, have a security setting set at 12am to 8am 40mph. But I'm always getting alerts about my speed at all different times. battery warning set at 11.3 and it sounds off loud like a horn. start up us good

I like the app and dont terribly mind the delay on the app to the car as it travels over cellular. I wish the app worked on my new Samsung Galaxy watch. Advertises that it works on smartwatches, but I cant find any current proof of that.

For the last 2 months its cold & we wanted to remote start the car. Now the App fails the first 2 or 3 times before it finally starts my car in the same driveway that it always worked fine before

Usually works pretty good as long as you NEVER try to reset your password. Every single time I do that, I wind up on the phone with support because the app won't recognize your new password and locks you out. Hugely frustrating when it's 20 below and you can't remotely start your vehicle.

Has literally never worked as intended in one full year. Requires constant force closing and reopening and a multi step process to remote start your vehicle. Takes APX 2 minutes of your attention on average to remote start your vehicle IF it actually works at all. Full setup (with GPS and remote start/lock) cost me APX $1300 and was definitely not worth it.

I would never recommend anyone to download this app or to purchase the remote starter from this company. Their customer service department is deplorable and they never ever respond to any correspondence via email. I will be reaching out to try to get assistance through the phone. however, I don't anticipate any assistance with regard to the issue that I'm currently having. Every year since I have purchased the remote starter the application has failed he has to be deleted and reload it to try to get the app to work properly. And the customer service department will not reach out after repeated contacts regarding purchase of the annual plan which is showing incorrect I purchased the 3-year plan and it repeatedly shows one year plan so $200 wasted with no assistance from this company again I would never ever recommend this company to anyone because their customer service is horrible.

The app did not work the day after installation. The starter fails, the GPS does not work. On top of it being flat out broken it gives off a screeching alarm ANY time it fails. I tried contacting customer support (spent an hour on the phone) to no avail. Tried emailing and got the response that they can chat with me in the app but not via email. Absolutely terrible - dont waste your money.

When the alarm and smartstart worked it was pretty good. Their customer service is horrible though. After they ”upgraded” their Network my unit stopped working. After over a month now waiting weeks in between email responses and calling and never getting through....The only solution they offer is to buy a new module for $100 and then pay to get it installed. I've spent well over $1000 with parts, installation and subscription. They should offer another solution or actually have someone talk to me who can explain the issue in person. Or at least refund my subscription which I'm paying for that hasn't worked. Just horrible.

Works alright but you need to keep the app opened and screen on while it's sending the command. Also, if you close the app in recent apps, it forgets the last command, doesn't say if it was successful or not, and you don't get a countdown timer for how long until it shuts off. Also, it is very slow. Takes about half a minute for my car to get the command and send back the success status whereas only took about 5 seconds with the FOB that I used to use instead. I wish this didn't seem like such a downgrade from the FOB.

Works for me about 85% of the time, which isnt good enough if you ask me. For a product that i pay a subscription for i expect it to work 100% of the time unless im in a poor cellular reception area. I wish it came with a keyfob. Also is there going to be an app to use with my galaxy watch?

Great addition for my smart start. I can keep my car started even after I've been driving. Only real issue is sometimes even near the car it doesn't work. 85% success rate.

Never worked. Tried contacting the company many times and they would always say it needs reset or some BS. Eventually just gave up. I would've enjoyed shredding the $150 more than spending it on a subscription for this app.

Originally had smartstart installed in 2008 on two cars. Installed the app about 4 years ago. The app worked great for the 1st year, then progressively became worse in functionality. Had issues with having to constantly reboot the phone. It now does not work on one of my phones, preventing my from logging in. Have uninstalled and reinstalled, even tried the Direct smartstart app with the same issue. Contacted customer service via webform. A rep emailed back asking what phones I was using. After my response back, I heard nothing else ( two weeks) Replied back again with no response. Unacceptable customer service and product support. My plan expires in December. At this point, instead of renewing my service plan, I will be looking into Compustar or Python if this isn't resolved this week.

Up until about 2 months ago the app worked fine, now all I get when I try to start vehicle is Action Failed error. Used app on my wife's iPhone this morning to start my truck because my android app would not work. Even tried uninstalling and re installing with no success. Fix the problem and I'll gladly update my rating of the app.

Bought this for the gps tracking no one bother to tell us it Doesnt track real time only alerts when vehicle starts up have to constantly hit refresh button to track where vehicle is going and the activity log doesn't show activity either. Only show when vehicle starts. This basically good for locating your car in a parking lot or concert. Not good for anything else and you constantly have to log off and on because it gives you alot of error messages

For the most part the app works, but it has some issues. Sometimes when I try to issue a command to control my car I get an error. The error will continue to occur until I completely force-close the app and then re-start it.

This app has worked well for me for a long time. Yesterday it stopped on one of my devices. I downloaded "Directed" and signed in. It worked. So I have Viper app on 1 phone and Directed app on the other.

I've had my smart start account for over 6 years and now they've upgraded the system so that i can't use the remote smart start through my phone. EDIT: I had to uninstall and reinstall the app to get it to work properly

This product sucks! I spent hundreds of dollars on the modular and the app does not consistently sync. It's getting cold and I need it to work now more than ever and of course it's not! Very disappointed!!!

A VERY VERY VERY BUGGY app! I have the Note 9 and FREQUENTLY, when I use the Dashboard widget, my car does not lock or unlock or autostart. Sometimes by using the app itself, the car doesn't execute commands. We pay your company a significant amount of money for the annual or muti year subscription. It is not acceptable that your app lacks consistency in executing car commands. To clarify, the app and the widget do execute car commands but they also are unresponsive to these commands. I think what I am trying to say is that you need to work towards having a much higher success rate when the user executes car commands. I shouldnt have to execute a car command and then wait and then nothing happens. Regular updates would be appreciated. Overall, regarding value for money, im not impressed with the app.

I realized you could set a schedule for your car to start on certain days and times, I scheduled mine. Well it dont work. Would be nice if all the features actually worked since I pay for a yearly subscription to be able to use my smart phone.
