Definitely been an easy experience and best part super secure. Love being able to use this for both the subway and bus(NYC) some places don't offer it but thats not samsungs fault and a lot of Bodegas and supermarkets use it too! The points you get with this aren't too bad either especially when you use a Credit Card with its own point system its a double win!

Frequent changes to app are annoying. Several times I've gone to purchase something with the app while in line and the changes were disruptive, causing delay and requiring me to eventually just have to use my physical card. I won't really consider this app good until I can leave my wallet home and use this app alone. Best feature of the app is that it doesn't require NFC and can be used with older POS terminals.

Great upon first deployment, but when switching to a new phone, it runs into problems. It is uncertain whether it is the Capital One app or the APIs on the financial institution side. There is no way to tell, so it gets four stars. If there were no problems upon transfer to a new phone, it would get five stars.

Doesn't work on my galaxy s22+. I never had a problem on my old phone, but I can't get past the opening page, when I click "get started", the icon spins and then stops, and I clock get stated again, same thing. If I can't use the app then it's worthless to keep on the phone. Was good when it worked

I would give it 5 stars if not for 1 thing. Ikeep the quick access available on my lock screen but not my homecause of swipe navigation triggers it.(btw, the battery on the s22 standard is HORRIBLE!) BUT ANYWHO, if we could move or resize the quick access tab or move it from the bottom where we have to swipe up to go back home or recall open apps would be ideal. So I would much rather have it on the home screen & not the lock screen. Other than that I have no complaints 🤘

Love using Samsung Pay everywhere, and the confused looks on the faces of people when I'm able to tap on older CC machines. I wish there were a bit more support with more cards such as Target. Also with there was better card and recent charge history views, but these are minor quibbles, as I am pleased with the app overall.

So I had the note 9 since it came out and LOVED Samsung pay! It was definitely a super power to use absolutely anywhere I went. I never had to carry my cards around and lose them, I was just extremely satisfied. I decided recently to upgrade to the s22 ultra in fear of them never making a note phone again. When I went to try and use my super power, I was finally defeated and wondered what was wrong. I found out Samsung decided to take it away from me. No MST anymore. Thank God I still have my 9!

Horrible app. It has a place to redeem your reward points and it doesn't work. After re loading the app and spending 45 minutes with 3 different people from Samsung, they told me you can only redeem points on the website on a desktop computer or laptop. Why have an option to redeem points if it doesn't let you. The app has very litter direction and information for the user. I do NOT recommend this app.

Stopped working when I switched from my Note 10+ to Galaxy Fold 3. My cards transferred to my new Fold 3 but it had to be activated. When I tried to activate it kept getting "failed to register". I deleted all the cards & re-register them as new but I still kept getting the "failed to register" error. Now I am unable to use this feature. I loved the Samsung Pay feature when it worked. It was great because it worked where I was told by vendors it wouldn't work. Then they took that feature out.

I would love to use Samsung pay but I cant stand the constant pop ups and banner ads trying to sell me deals on credit cards. The UI is cluttered and the user experience is annoying AF. I have all ad options turned off in the settings menu yet there are still tons of ads. And they dont support Mastercard which is the card I use 90% of the time. Also, it would be nice if I could edit the name of each card in my profile (food, personal expenditures, ect).

I love Samsung Pay ... WHEN IT WORKS! Ugh! As of lately, this is just another useless app taking up memory on my phone. When it works, it's awesome and incredibly convenient, but when it decides to bug out, forget it. No matter what you do, it won't work. Trying to get help from support is an absolute joke. Nobody responds. Don't bother with it, just use your card & don't waste your time or energy on this junk app.

Love it! Haven't carried a credit card in years. The ability to use old MST machine types makes it almost universally accepted. (Sadly, Samsung has removed this feature from their newer phones. So you have to stick with S20 or earlier models for that feature. Bummer! If I upgrade to a newer model, I'll have to start carrying a credit card again... And honestly, if I can't use MST, what value does Samsung Pay bring to me that differentiates it from Google Pay? None that I can see.)

App just stopped working, I can pay using the app but the money tab crashes now every time so I can not deposit or check my balances. I have sent in the crash report have restarted my phone even uninstalled and reinstalled the app same issues. The thing that gets me is it was working and then just stopped there was no change to my phone so I am confused.

It works great on my Note 20 Ultra again. After the February 2022 update, had to follow advice from another user to make it stop turning the credit cards just briefly after fingerprinting - not long enough to complete a transaction. His advice is to open the app, go to settings, tap on reset app. It worked! My prior Samsung rewards card automatically populated with the same $ balance. My membership card populated as well. Had to add back credit cards and reactivate them. Still enjoying it!

Paying with gift cards no longer works. After scanning fingerprint or typing in pin, nothing happens. Thanks Samsung, I'd like the ability to use all the gift cards I have loaded up on here. Update: You must go into the app, then settings, then reset app. Your saved gift cards will reload automatically when you sign back in. Cash back $ is saved as well. Credit cards are saved, but you'll have to go in and reverify them. Samsung should have this posted in their release notes for the new ver

I have tried several times to use this app. I have updated and installed numerous times. Cleared out cache data. I'm very unhappy. I have sent several emails and messages to customer support about the problem. Even tried troubleshooting it on the web. Nothing worked. If I could completely Uninstall the app, I would!

They messed up the point system a few years back and cut how many you earn by 90% and got rid of one tier I have one more major thing to complain about. The biggest thing that set Samsung apart from EVERYONE else. MST. It's the technology that allowed you to pay ANYWHERE, even places that didn't take mobile payment using NFC, like Apple Pay and other mobile payments. Now, Samsung has completely abandoned it an it's not even supported. Even though any phone that wirelessly charges is capable..

No MST payment anymore (on S22 Ultra)! What's the point of using Samsung Pay anymore?! The only advantage it had over competitors was being able to pay at all those regular terminals with no NFC, and I would have used it if it didn't have the feature from the beginning, but removing such a cool feature is an absolute deal breaker. During COVID, I used the MST all the time for contactless payments and quite frankly for its ease of use, not having to reach for my card, which I can't anymore.

Loved it until it stopped working... it worked flawlessly until I installed the most recent Samsung software update. Now when I scan my fingerprint or enter my pin the digital image of the card I'm trying to use will turn briefly and reset back to the pay screen. Very frustrating. I'll update my review once they've fixed whatever was broken with the new software update.

Although it says that it is compatible with S10+, it does not work. After installing and opening, it "checks availability" and then says that it is "coming soon". At the bottom of the app information, it shows a copyright year of 2015 and shows compatibility with S6. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 10 times at least. But it seems the current version that uploads to my phone is outdated. Please fix this. I have no idea why I can't use Samsung Pay. Please help!!!

Got the app set up on my phone and it was super easy. Once I tried to get my watch set up everything stopped working. Anything I did in the watch app or the original pay app would just give a connection error. Reset the watch, phone and reinstalled each app with no luck. Fired up google pay and was up and running in 5 minutes.

No longer works. After scanning my fingerprint, nothing happens. I removed my fingerprint and re-added it and nothing changed. I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra on the T-Mobile Network. I'm assuming this app just needs an update to become compatible again. I'll fix the review as soon as it's fixed. Thanks!

I have used samsung pay for the past two years with no issues. But for about 2 weeks now it wont let me past the verification step. When checking out it prompts my fingerprint, after that the card do a whole 360 instead of its usual countdown to a pin device for payment. I have restarted my phone, looking at every option it could be for it not going through, but there isnt one. I dont know if theres a bug in the app or if it's my phone's(Galaxy Note 10 plus) new software update did something 🤔

NOT Secure AT ALL. I've even contacted customer service about missing "Samsung" credit i.e. USD and 2 $50 gift cards with $0 on both. Over 2 years, I've "lost" over $1,000. My next step is to contact Verizon and uninstall the app. If it worked and you could transfer Samsung credit to a credit card or buy a gift card, it would be great. Customer service was great but due to security purposes, he couldn't see who accessed money. Are you kidding me? Think my entire will be switching to iPhones.

Super handy. A little bumpy to start for all parties. Like anything new, it took a minute or two for the cashier and I to stumble through. Now I easily move through credit cards looking for the one that I want to use. All of the transactions are secure and immediate. A win for contact-less transactions.

Does not always work. Oftentimes it is slightly more inconvenient then seems to be beneficial. Plus all of the bonus point for rewards don't do me any good. It takes way too long for me to accumulate them. Sometimes the program also decides that the thumbprint is not going to work and the pin number doesn't work. And that sometimes can cause a problem if you're stuck at a store fully expecting to be able to pay.

Im trying to use Samsung Pay more often. It is convenient and in these days of Covid, it often allows me to pay without touching anything or exchanging a card with a cashier. My only complaint is that when im "window shopping" on certain web sites(like Home Depot or Lowes), a Samsung Pay "reminder" ribbon extends over my screen and covers up some of what im trying to look at. The x to close is too small to hit. U end up activating Samsung Pay trying to close it. Annoying.

I like it but... I use SP as often as possible. I really like the convenience. I love getting a notification confirming transactions and a ledger of transaction history. Finally, it allows me to enter ANY KIND OF CARD into it. Most virtual wallets I've tried don't. So why 3 stars? 1) App design is cluttered and requires side scroll. When I want a card, that's ALL I want 2) It doesn't always work properly. Ex: sometime the transaction complete checkmark doesn't work. 3) ADS ADS ADS

I've tried several times to click "get started " to even start using the app, and it never takes. After a few times pushing "get started" it has an error and says they are submitting a bug report. I wish I could give a zero but you know how that goes. Fix this please!!! Ugh.. EDIT: Ok, after the 3rd time uninstalling and reinstall it finally worked. I'll bump to 3 stars for now till I actually get to use it and see...

This app came installed on my phone. I can neither uninstall nor disable it. I have never once used it. But it sometime tries to open itself on its own, for instance while I'm asleep, causing my device to continuously vibrate about twice a second and wake me up. I then have to fight with it to close it and reset my phone or it will do it again. This process also sometimes causes my phone to become unresponsive, resulting in the need for a hard reset. Why can I not remove this app from my phone?

Good app BUT BE AWARE if you use a discount mass transit fare card, make sure to TURN OFF the "Transit Payment Card" setting. I didn't know it comes on as the default setting, and was swiping my discount fare card, all the while also getting charged a separate full fare through the app by just having my phone in proximity to the turnstile in my hip holster! I have since been refunded, but how many people never check?

Honestly, this app runs so smoothly. When pre-ordering my zfold3, the ability to add and remove things, the automatic assignment of my employee discount, the simplicity and fluidity of the menus was outstanding. It was really easy to navigate and the promotions all just... worked. Which seems small, but it made a huge deal of difference for the user experience. I even came back to buy a bundle of earbuds, a wireless charger, and a smart tag using a promo code and it worked exactly as it should

Right now I'm not happy with the app at all. I've been in contact with customer support and did everything they suggested and still keep getting "card invalid " on all my debit and credit cards. Never had any issues in the past. I've changed phones and watches and still no luck. Getting frustrated over app and about to delete it permanently. For now it shouldn't even get a one star but can't take it away or I won't be able to post complaint.

The app has significant improved. It's much easier to change/ add payment methods and doesn't glitch at all anymore. Not working at all. I have been trying for weeks to add my Paypal account. I have updated the up and uninstalled and reinstalled countless times. It was working previously and since I removed an old credit card it has not been working.

The updates have made my experience troubling to say the least. After not using the app for over six months because it just plain stop working I finally connected with Samsung help desk. Thought my situation appeared to be fixed then went to use it. It locked up again!! Fun times. Restarted the phone then it worked. I am hoping I dont have to restart the phone after each use.

I do not use this app. But, it put a draggable tab on the bottom of my screen that can't be turned off. Oh sure, they say to turn it off in the app's settings. However, you'll be stopped by a login when trying to open the settings. Meaning, you have to create a god damn account... just to get to the settings... to turn off the tab at the bottom of the screen. Moronic.

Good pay app. I wish they stopped their BS with the reward points because you basically can't use them for anything since they are worthless. Just waste of time BS, another form of reward could be good but as it stands, it just annoys me. Also there are too many adds, Samsung already makes money for every transaction, that should be enough. I'm also a bit disappointed that they dropped the support for "fake swipes" and that only NFC is available on the newer phones.

I have been using Samsung pay for a few years now and it has been great, they are slowly taking away certain features or reward, and just recently the quick access from home screen stopped working (hope they fix this bug soon), the locked screen quick access still works and the app it self still works. I love that i can use it with magnetic terminals(regular credicard readers with exposed magnetic reader) as well besides NFC terminals. Offline mode with Samsung watch is great.

Simple, convenient, acceptable everywhere except Wal-Mart. I'm guessing Wal-Mart isn't allowing it. I love being able to link all my cards to one wallet. This was recommended to me and I've been spreading the word about it since my first transaction. I would recommend that it adds a way to put money aside into a "rainy day" fund. Paypal has that feature and I would prefer to use it with Samsung Pay also. Overall 5 star app!!!!!

I actually like using this app, for the most part. My biggest frustration is that just about every time I open the app to use it, I go to provide my fingerprint immediately and right before I can, a pop-up message tells me "you have to authenticate", which is exactly what I'm trying to do, but your message gets in the way of that. Please do away with this message or at the very least, give me more than one second to authenticate. Maybe wait 10 seconds before the pop-up message comes up?

If you want an app that is painfully slow to setup and work when needed, this is the app for you. For starters it constantly annoys you saying you want to use Samsung Pay. My answer was no, and after trying it out it's a definite no. First of all verifying with my phone number took 5 mins to say it didn't connect to the server. Then the email option literally took 2 mins to send it. It had a slow bar moving indicating it was being sent on 90s internet. Then after wasting 15 mins just to get it setup, inexcusable by the way, it doesn't work. You click on the card, asks again about being the default payment when it's the only card on file. Again, inexcusable to ask stupid questions when a good programmer would put in variables to indicate when there is only one card, move on and start using it. Finally after 20 mins of nonsense, it shows up indicating nothing on what to do, or how to use it. After that, it vibrates saying it's ready, you hold it up indicating a connection with wireless pay machine, and it never worked. Tried it a few times, and it always timed out. Overall a worthless app, and the people who designed it should be fired and banned from ever developing an app again.

No matter how many settings and permissions I turn off, no matter how many times I uninstall, this app reinstalls itself about every 3 days. I don't use the app, the swiping up from the bottom to open the app is SO annoying and it accidentally gets opened all the time. EDIT: Just wanted to edit to say it still reinstalls itself, and I still hate it. Thank you.

Even though I've disabled this app several times, it spontaneously tries to open at random times, even when I'm not even using my device, and when it does it crashes and continuously vibrates and completely drains my battery very quickly if I don't notice it. When this happens I can't even close the app, it just reopens. Unfortunately, I can't remove the app from my device because it's Samsung firmware. Technical support has been completely unhelpful. Could this be a security risk? I can't tell.

Please add additional Gesture for opening app. Having to share the middle 'back' swipe gesture is problematic. App is constantly opening when I don't want it to, and won't open easily when I need it. Adding a diagonal swipe or ability to assign the Bixby button for Samsung Pay would be great! Other than that it has been great and an awesome convenience during the pandemic.

I cannot stand this app, giving it 1 star is too generous. It keeps popping up on my phones home screen at various times with malicious ads and promotions. I have tried multiple times to remove the widget from my phone and to change the settings for this app. After a day or two the widget will reappear on my home screen and all the changes I made to the app in settings will be undone. I don't trust this app and if I could I would remove it permanently from my phone.

It has a little bar at the bottom of the screen that blocks access to swiping up to bring up Apps screen on Android, and it can't be disabled or uninstalled. Still having this problem many months later. This breaks basic Android user interface functionality. I can't understand why it's even allowed.

5 Stars when it's working... I love this app and how convenient it is for me. The only problem is it no longer works now. I have an S10e and this app doesn't work anymore. I always get a "card error." I have uninstalled, removed my card, added it back, tried in multiple stores, and every time I get the same error now. It's been over two weeks or so. I'm not even going to try anymore for now and just stick to physically using my card. Such a bummer!

I love using the convenience of paying with my phone or watch. But stop with the pop up ads when someone is trying to pay!!! I should not have to dismiss an add, or authenticate again, just because you decide to put ads in the payment section. I don't have to deal with an ad before using my credit card when I pull out my wallet, and I sure shouldn't when I use the phone that I spent $1400 on! I should have the option for an ad - free experience!

Soooo nice to get an ad right when you're using it. Because natch that's when I want to read one and for sure check it out 🤡👌🏻 To cut down the annoying ads you have to go into the settings pretty hard with determined intent. Sooo many things to toggle off. Seems ok for now since doing so. Well see if it lasts. If not, and although I'll miss the lock screen access, Google Pay. Oh wait, I can add the icon in the bottom corner 🥳💡

I don't use this app and don't want to. Wish I could uninstall it completely. The most recent update installed this stupid swipe-up bar on the bottom of my phone to open the app. It opens even when my phone is locked which is really annoying. I would think that someone wouldn't want a wallet style app to be accessed this way. The only way to get rid of the stupid bar is to uninstall the update, but anytime my phone does its auto-updates it's back again.

Even though I turn off permissions that allow this app to stay on top and change system settings, it reverts and pops up the annoying tab at the bottom of my screen. I have turned off auto update, so I'm not sure why it keeps happening. I do not want to waste phone space on this app in the first place, but I can't get rid of it. The least you can do is allow us to actually disable it.

This used to be a best app to pay by phone. Now whenever you open the app for payment, you will be present with fullscreen ad/promotion message. This is really annoying when you're trying to make a payment quickly and you have to deal with such promotional messages. Other than that, this is a great payment app that is widely acceptable. Few places like Walmart and Home depot have disabled the payment thru Phones.

Samsung removed the beam capability from their later model phones which makes membership cards work less reliably if at all. It was really the number one reason I stick with Samsung hardware. Bring it back, make a second hole in the display for all I care, or beam from the back by the camera lenses. Figure it out, you have smart enough engineers to solve a simple problem. It's a worthwhile capability. Disappointed in it being silently dropped.

While I love the wireless payment on my phone this app could use some help. I cannot log into my SoFi account (because SoFi is "unavailable"), which is super inconvenient. Additionally, I have errors with the payment tracking where transactions will not appear in my history (ever). Lastly it's super annoying that I have to use my fingerprint twice if I would like to access the money tab. I would like it if my fingerprint was only required again to show specific information i.e. account number.

App continues to appear at the bottom of my phone screen (including my lock screen) even when the app does not have the permissions or settings. This is aggravating, as I need to swipe up in order to put in my pin to sign into my phone, but swiping up starts up this app instead. Allow me to turn this function off, please, and make the app unobtrusive when I don't want it. It's to the point where I would disable the app--if the phone even allowed me to do that. But it doesn't. Very poor design.

So found this app on my desktop using the quick access swipe up how annoying. Can't delete the app, can't disable it, had to sign up with an account to open the settings so I could disable. Definitely a thumbs down from me when Samsung makes you do something to get rid of something else. Obviously looks good for them when you sign up for an account. Will be looking at an iPhone next time I purchase.

I started using the Samsung Pay app when they first came on scene, and it was fun and exciting to accrue reward points and redeem them for gift cards or other fun incentives. Over the last couple of years they've amended the amount of points you receive per purchase (the whole tiered program, for that matter) and eventually all of the rewards dwindled in quality and quantity. Now ALL of is going away as of 12/31/2020. So, no real incentive to stay as an existing user or come in as a new one. 👎

3 years later and still no problems. I haven't had anything go missing. I do use it in the same places again and again, So it is easier to make sure nothing is out of the ordinary. The ads in the app can be ignored if you just use the "quick access" feature of swiping the Samsung Pay card from the home screen and it directly takes you to your cards. I trust it.

This app takes away the worry of losing/forgetting my wallet while I'm out. Everything I need is unlocked at a touch of my fingerprint or scan of my face or irises for added security. My accounts are quickly organized and always ready to use right away. I never have to be embarrassed at the checkout line ever again!! Oh, and since it's digital and contact free, I'm staying safe and saving the environment with each purchase.

Nuisance. The app repeatedly opens without prompt (when phone is on lock screen, not even in use), opens a task bar at the bottom of my screen that I cannot get rid of unless I force stop the app in my settings, and it will not let me remove the app from my phone. Dozens of times this has happened. I do not use it. Yet several times a week it forces a task bar on me and makes me fix it. If your app is going to cause persistent issues, then AT LEAST allow me to remove it from my phone! please!

I find it very convenient and easy to use. It's a life saver when I forgot my wallet. It works in most, if not all, checkouts. The only thing I don't like is that the new update doesn't let me setup the pin, it only allows figure print. When my fingers get pruney or wrinkly from being in the water (swimming, doing dishes, et.) I can't use it to make a payment because it can't scan my fingerprint. But overall is good. I'd recommend it.

I found it to be horribly intrusive, to the point that I uninstalled it from my Samsung phone. A week or so ago, a tab appeared at the bottom of my screen below the control bar (All apps, home, back buttons), but not far enough beneath it that it every time I tapped one of those three buttons it opened this app. I tried to go into settings to try to turn it off and it asked me to set up an account to do it. I don't have an account nor did I want one. Given the choices, I uninstalled it. Blah!

NEVER has worked on my Galaxy S10 for the entire year I've owned it. App now says it can't be used until it's reset, but it can't even reset because it won't do any when I tap to verify to reset it after fighting through the 50 times it tells me it needs to be reset to work. Have tried uninstall and reinstall and everything else... NOTHING works. Worst app I've ever come across. I hear its great if u can get it to work, but it seems ill never know.

Look.. the app works great. The notifications are aggravating. I'd like to get notifications that are relevant to my account usage. Like spending alerts, security issues, and card activation. The occasional notification about a promotion at a store I'm currently shopping at is welcome. But the constant stream of notifications for the samsung pay credit card are annoying. And the sheer number of notification categories makes it difficult to narrow down which ones are relevant vs spam.

I absolutely Love the Samsung Pay app. I use it daily on my phone and my watch. Credit and debits cards can all be added for use on the app. Much more secure than just the card. You get points evertime you use it, and the more you use it the more points you get. Points can be used towards apps, games, wallpapers, watch faces, anything in the Galaxy store. Example (not exact) 200 points will convert to $1. All purchases are emailed to you each time you use it and can be tracked on the app.

It doesn't work, everytime I click on the app a pop-up message says i have to reset the app to use it. When I go to reset in the actual app I'm stuck on the verify page with no resolve and force stopping it from my phone settings also has no effect. I've deleted and reinstalled the app twice now. This is becoming unworthy of my time and patience, please help me fix it.

This app STILL doesnt work on my Galaxy S10. I've tried every single suggestion, but it is always stuck on the "getting started" loading screen. So many people have this issue, and Samsung has known about it since the S10 was released, but they've done nothing. Now I get message that the app needs to be reset before I can use it, but there is no way to reset it.

Too many ads put all over the place. Obnoxious special offers. This app requires a large amount of configuration to reduce the notification noise, but its not possible to fully eliminate the cross-marketing offers built into the very core of Samsung Pay. Do not recommend. I am happy it can be used for payment, so 1 star for that. This just could be so much better with less junk in it.

App decided it wanted to close all other apps I was using at any given time, constantly repeating the generic tap vibration for minutes on end until I pulled up all recently used apps and force closed it. Grew a mind of its own, and interrupted everything I was doing several times without fail. Sad. EDIT SEPT. 12, 2020: STILL doing it! Absolutely NO difference.

Best mobile payment app! Works flawlessly with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and Amex. It's also great to have to option to use MST at swipe terminals in case a place doesn't take NFC! The rewards program is definitely also nice to have. Super convenient to have all your cards on your phone, so you don't have to carry them all everywhere!

So far, so good! Amazingly easy to use and highly convenient for the everyday consumer. This app makes adding debit, credit, and store-specific cards a snap and calling them up for use when they are needed is about as easy as it gets. I'm still leery of the security of linking credit and bank cards to technology such as this, but I won't live in fear.

Worth Trying Out but the issue with the app is an instant update after installing, good thing I have unlimited high speed data. People are complaining about intrusive push notifications and intrusive ads. I will try it and if I have any problems I will uninstall it until it is corrected and I hope it will be as good as Samsung has been to my personal use.

I am happy to see how well this works. I like being able to use my favorite credit card or PayPal. Especially PayPal it makes it work like another credit card. Only problem I had is my favorite supermarket; Samsung Pay actually crashed their PoS system. It was not a fluke. It actually happened twice in two different occasions at different lanes.

It usually works half the time. Half the time when you are trying to pay, it read on the cash register display "Error reading " and sometimes freezes the transaction and won't even take the card. So cashier needs to refresh the register and I end up using my credit card instead. ( yes, NFC is Enable). I think that it could be the store system that glitches as well. Because it does the same thing when I tried to use my Samsung frontier 3 smart watch. I got a Samsung Note 9 both up to date.

A very nice app. Works well with my s9+, and allows payment with any type of card reader (provided your phone has the required hardware). I rate this 4 stars because I wish I had faster access for direct payment, and a more secure and faster accessible security. (For developers: maybe an option like, "Use fingerprint reader for instant pay with your favorite card."?)

So far, it has been very easy to use and maneuver my way around. The struggle I'm having is that, thus far, I have been unable to transfer funds into my SoFi account. The app keeps asking me to add funds in order to get started with my SoFi card. However, I have tried numerous times and numerous ways to put money into my SoFi account and every time I try I end up getting a pop up message telling me that my transaction did not go through and/or the transfer from my debit account was unsuccessful!

Unacceptable. I have had repeated errors when trying to purchase gift cards on the app. Regardless of the merchant, the amount, or my payment method, I receive "Unable to process" error. I have submitted 4 different support requests, and not one has been resolved. The only solution I've been able to use is to completely uninstall and then re-install the app. The time spent re-entering all my payment methods is more than I can tolerate. I am switching back to Google Pay.

Just started using it and it feels like I'm living in the future. And because of its NFC tech Samsung Pay works on a lot of older machines that can't handle other pay apps. Also going to be able to use it in the subway so no more surprise Metrocard swipes saying I have insufficient funds. Connectivity and integration is simple, easy and intuitive. Samsung took the mess of a wallet or purse and compacted it all into one amazing app.

Super easy to use. just a note, if you factory reset your phone you're going to need to reactivate your card for the app at least that's been my experience. The only issue I had was calling my bank to activate my card for the app, which was quick and simple before but now, I'm assuming because of the pandemic, the banks are busy dn I couldn't get in touch with a rep. Definitely not the app's problem though.

It constantly bugs out the phone, making it impossible to do anything. It's horrible!! I don't touch it, & it'll randomly start itself, then make noises like when typing + quick screen flashes that interrupt whatever you're doing. Only way to solve is by force stopping the app, but it can't be disabled, so it always happens again. Hoping this stays removed!!! Ugh!

This is essentially malware. Pre-installed on phone, can't uninstall it, can't stop it from opening. And I think someone is hacking my phone and trying to steal my personal info from the app (thankfully I never set up the app). My phone occasionally opens the app and starts vibrating every few seconds and being slow, and won't stop until I restart the phone. Horrible. Maybe I need to root my phone so I can rid my phone of this disease.

I've never intentionally opened this app (it came preinstalled and I cannot find a way to remove it), but occasionally it will suddenly try to open, interfering with the use of other apps, repeatedly opening and mimimizing. I keep force stopping the app and denying all permissions, but I suspect it may be updating in the background and resetting as a result.

Can't turn off location, can't turn off access to contacts, etc. I have no control to grant, or deny at all times, or grant permission only when app is in use. This app has full access to everything. I'm going to dump this app. It's not worth giving up my privacy or my freedom of choice in what access I give permissions to.

Offers so many cash back offers and a great wallet to carry payment methods and customer loyalty/rewards cards. My biggest complaint is the ability to use your cash back rewards. They need to give us a way to transfer it off that card or issue a legit credit account number for use online. Otherwise, in my experience thus far, it is basically useless.

Horrible, unintuitive. As soon as I start the phone it is there. No close it with difficulty, but it continues to reopen. It won't go away. I'm deleting it. Horrible, but not much different than most of the Note 9 experience. The stylus is the only satisfying element with Samsung.

I have the Samsung Pay Cash card. It's a digital debit card, won't be using it after I get my money off of it. It constantly gets blocked by them for using it in a different area than my home zipcode, their customer service to get it unlocked closes early, there's been multiple times I couldn't complete my purchase because they are closed and I can't get ahold of their customer service. No online option for verifying and unlocking card, it's super inconvenient and a waste of time.

It works, that's about it. You can pay for stuff easily enough, but the advertisement notifications are incredibly obnoxious, and spending points takes forever, since you need to sit through a meaningless animation beforehand (40 entries, and the wheel landed on the same exact spot every single time). Function is fine, but as far as the user experience goes, it's hot garbage.

Doesnt work as its supposed to all of the time. Magnetic payment doesnt work on certain types of payment terminals and often needs to be tried several times before it works. I certainly wouldn't leave the wallet at home. App is sloppily managed with mismatching pictures and cash back discrepancies where an offer can be for 3% but says 2%. Tried to redeem cash back and never recieved it.

Super convenient that it works with ANY slide payment reader. Sometimes I run out the door without my wallet. But I always keep my phone on me so it's nice to have a back up or just those times when I don't need to bring a purse with me. I still get "that kind of payment doesn't work here. We don't have the special reader for that." I drop one star because if I'm in a building with blocked cell reception then the payment won't process. Kind of embarrassing to hold up a line.

Absolutely phenomenal!!! As far as I know, this is exclusive to newer Samsung devices, and it's not over selling to say that it is, without a doubt, the BEST Tap And Pay option available! Somehow (magic) it emulates the magnetic strip on ANY given card, making it work on ANY type of register, regardless if NFC is supported or not! I have successfully used it when the cashier said "oh, our machine is too old, we can't do tap and pay". Their face is priceless when it works! 100% 10/10 recommended

Great for easy payment! Only downside is the redemption. I only recently learned I can use points to buy apps for my smart watch. Its great being able to use your phone at any terminal even while cashiers tell you it won't work its not a smart card reader. I would improve the point redemption chance to win, its really really annoying to press i agree each time I want to roll. I also wish there was a try "X" times and just do 10x at once. Maybe even buy 9 entries get 10th free or something.

Mostly, this is good. It makes it easy to pay for things on the go without my card. Earning points is not hard although using the points is the annoying part. My issue is on the Chance to Win. I have tried for a few different prizes throughout different days and EVERY SINGLE TIME I spin the wheel, it lands on the SAME EXACT SPOT! Now I know the chance to win anything is slim to none but to land on the same spot everytime just shows me it's fake. Why even include it then? Extremely annoying.

Holy moly super duper easy to use. I love it. I use chase. So all I had to do was scroll to the bottom of my chase app it says link to Samsung pay or something similar. I clicked on it and went through the steps. Literally less than 5 minutes I was set up and using it. Best way to not have to carry your debit card. Beware not all places accepts this pay version. No more card swiping or inserting multiple times. Just place your phone over the card reader and done!

Was the best app on my phone for a long time. Used it every day for 90% of my transactions. Had literally zero complaints. Now they require a "secure" lock screen to pay with your fingerprint. Dumb to require me to enter it twice for paying when it was a quick swipe, and one fingerprint read before. The app itself was secured with my print, why would the phone also need to be locked? It was super convenient, but now is totally useless.

This app works exactly as I expected. An alternative to carrying my bank cards around with some additional perks. The gift card purchases are neat but nothing amazing. I'm not a fan of the giveaways but they're easily avoidable. Being able to use this on a machine that doesn't have one of those large obnoxious beacons on top is also very convenient.

Samsung pay has slowly become my go to choice when making mobile payments. My specific bank took quite a while to recognize Samsung pay, when they supported Apple pay for years previously. But once they came on board, I find that I use it all the time, and don't need to bring my wallet when I'm making a quick trip to the store or to grab a bite to eat. I find it very convenient and the user interface is intuitive.

The app is wonderful. The ability to use my phone at 99% of all credit card machines (not just NFC) is really great. I can't tell you how many times someone told me "we don't do pay by phone" and I say "trust me it will work". The look of disbelief when it works is priceless!! So you may be wondering why only 4 stars? Well I am just finding out that points eventually expire even if you are using it daily (which I am). The point price for items is so high with expiring points I can't get!

I've had that a few times where the cashier said they dont do mobile payments and I said let's try and it went through everytime. This the best payment app. Beats apple pay by leaps and bounds. Apple doesn't work in most of the places. You get points each time and you can redeem for free items. Plus incredible offers at several merchants! Love it

Update - My payment methods only work about half the time and so far I haven't managed to get a single one of my membership/benefits cards to scan at any retailer. Not one. I'm glad I didn't uninstall Stocard. Next up... Google Pay. ********************* I've only had it in for a few days, and it's my first payment app for mobile, but so far I'm not terribly impressed. I had to move all my membership cards out of stocard to this app, but the app won't let you input your own card front picture, it doesn't accept the same sized pics as what I already had in stocard so I had to take pics of the backs again, verifying my payment options has been a bit of a nightmare that in the case of my bank required I physically go into the bank to get it straightened out (although paypal was the best experience), and the only place to put gift cards that you own is in membership cards. I haven't had a chance to see if you can actually pay for anything with something in the membership card slot, but I'm guessing probably not. Also, the ONLY thing this app does is swipe the card. Everything else is exactly the same as swiping your card on the machine. You still have to tell it credit or debit, you still have to accept the charges, you still have to sign for charges, etc. So if you prefer to swipe to open the phone, then enter your pin or your thumbprint or your irises, then swipe to open the app, then swipe to select the card, all so you can set your phone against the card reader rather than swipe the card, then it makes perfect sense to use. *eye roll* Finally, the app is about marketing to you and not about making it easy to use. On every freaking screen there is 20 things I have no interest in and I can't close them to get them out of my sight. I HAVE to scroll through them to get to what I want to use. I wouldn't mind if I could minimize that long list of rewards offers from places I don't shop, or if I can tell the app to get rid of the cash back awards and gift card store and samsung rewards and featured deal sections. That wouldn't leave anything on the home screen but my personal stuff, which would be just about perfect. As it is, it's just another way to let spammers at you.

Easy to use, very convenient. Can add multiple cards for payment options. A lot more stores are now accepting samsung pay. Changes the buying experience. I think the "chance to win" feature is rigged, the wheel ALWAYS lands on the SAME exact spot. Just a way to make you use up your points, and possibly force you to buy more. I simply use the app for the ease of paying and nothing more.

More often than not, works perfectly. Does not work with smaller banks but overall works and you get Samsung freebies with points. I don't see how you get higher point items without buying them. Overall not entirely terrible, but if you buy any gift cards through Samsung Pay, good luck using them for online shopping! No way to copy the card number to the clipboard and the app won't run in split screen mode. (Can't take screenshots, for obvious reasons). You also can't just switch back and forth between Samsung Pay and another app though, as it exits pay mode - and you start all over! Needs to be a way to copy gift card info to the clipboard. No option for dark theme is also annoying.

The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because I haven't been able to use Samsung Pay on my Galaxy S8+ in almost a year and a half. After an update and change of email...it hasn't allowed me to use the app. I have called and called Customer Service and nothing has changed. It was useful and really awesome when it worked. Not worth it unless you spend obscene amounts of money. The "rewards" cost a ridiculous amount. I realized this early on, but took the long-term view, thinking that eventually I'd earn enough to get a reward. Yet I never seemed to get above 2000 points. Turns out that not only do rewards require exorbitant points, but points also expire - unless you spend thousands of $ a month through the app, you won't get a thing. Privacy invasion with nothing in return.

It is fast with notifications, which is nice if you have an auto-pay on a card. Only thing I noticed that concerned me is if you buy a group of things on Amazon, the group amount shows up and then the individual items if shipped separately. It shows correctly on the actual card statement though, so you aren't double charged. I have gotten several cash rewards, which is very nice. I have the Samsung Note9 and no issues. Carry cards as phone pay is not always available and gas stations difficult.

I have not had too many issues with this app. Other than here and there it varies whether it wants to work on my watch or phone. Which tends to be embarrassing in a line of people. Also the point system is jacked. I've been using this app for most of my purchases for almost a year and still havent managed to get enough points to even get the cheapest thing. Other than the ridiculous amount they charge to enter into raffles. Wish they would offer more especially for people who regularly use this

I love the app in concept..but it is impossible to use to pay. Whole foods it works 25% of the time. chili's it never works. and other places are a solid 70% success. I realize that it is likely an issue on the part of the card reader system, but having to always have cash or my credit card on my quick trips, because I will probably need them, totally negates the usefulness of this app

Samsung note 10 plus, so far so good. I haven't had any problems with the app. I just signed up for the Samsung pay cash less then 30 minutes ago and everything is activated and working perfectly. I was giving $5 for signing up, which was in my samsung pay app as soon as I updated my account from lite to full. Doesn't cost anything. Finally getting all my transactions. However, you make everything so expensive to buy with your points you have to save and save and save...... But then if that wasn't bad enough now my points expire.... in the last 2 months I've lost 2000+pts. The only good thing this app is good for is if you forgot your wallet at home but have your phone so you can pay. Bring back lower items like the gift cards you had before.

Rewards points are POINTLESS. I use Samsung pay because it was convenient through my phone but I will switch to google pay, even though they don't have a reward program. You have to have e an insane number of points just to redeem and since I've never reached enough points (because they expire), I decided to try and use them to win a prize. However, the spin the reel game always lands on the exact same no win spot. Seems like a scam. Nevertheless, I would rather not be played for a fool.

The app is okay. Sometimes it can be hard to navigate and find exactly what I am looking for. My real complaint is about the reward system itself, specifically the cash back system. It takes way too long to actually credit your account. I shop with iBotta and they credit my account in like a few hours or at worst a few days, with Samsung, you literally have to wait months. I have over 45 dollars pending, but have no idea when I will actually receive it. It definitely dissuades me from using it.

I like it, but it was a little confusing to use at first. It never explains that after you add a card you have to tap the cards tab, then card you want to use, then pin. Also, doesn't tell you it wont work unless it's your primary payment method. Other than that works great. Cashback option a little confusing too. Offers cashback at certain places. But when he click on it it sends to the website to shop. But I'm in physically in the store with the offer.

Very easy and reliable at the same time. Never missed a payment where it's supported. However, it would be a lot easier if there was an option to just tap the cellphone without having to open the app and then select pay, just to get rid of a couple of steps. I know there are challenges with that too, but I think people at Samsung are more than capable of a work around for that!

App works well but the points you earn are pretty much worthless. I saved up about 7,000 points because they carried some cool stuff you could trade the points for but they got rid of those prizes. I used the points on the "chances to win" and was very disappointed. Their point system is a scam so I wouldn't use the app if you're expecting to claim some sort of reward for using the app. Which is the only reason I even downloaded this thing... 2 years of saving points for nothing.

I really like the Samsung Pay app. keeping my cards in my phone makes things very easy when I check out at retail stores. it also allows me to look at my expenditures income location, regardless of the card I pay with. there are some times when I am unable to pay using the app, but I believe that is more a function of the retail location not the app.

Works for the most part. Certain locations have issues with tap to pay but that's more of an issue in the United States lagging behind in technology rather than the app itself. One issue that's quite annoying is how certain things like the advertised cash back shopping fails to work, at least on my Galaxy S9+. Repeated attempts to shop at a linked store come back with a "server not found" error. Searching for solutions recommend things as extreme as a full phone reboot.

Absolutely awful and full of bugs, making it completely unusable for any function other than pull-up NFC payments. I can't count how many times I've tried to pay for gift cards and fought it just to get through to the end. Be ready for bugs and app freezes every step of the way, good luck trying to give Samsung your money using their own app.

While they've improved the UI recently, it could still be a little better. The rewards program keeps going downhill. There's a decent chance it won't be around in a year. If it is, it'll probably just be contest entries and coupon codes. Then, the only reason to use this over other apps will be because of the MST technology. That's assuming other apps are blocked by Samsung from using it.

this program would not finish the setup after installing. after trying a couple of times I was able to get it to complete the setup and I added my cards. then I turned off fingerprint reading and the app quit working. I called Samsung and we tried many things and reinstalled the app 20 times and never worked again. I have been waiting a long time for there high level tech support to contact me but they won't. Terrible app! Terrible support!

Unable to get verified!! it keeps prompting me to verify my irises and my fingerprint up to four to five times. After verifying the irises and fingerprints over and over it still will not advance to the next stage of completion. A complete waste of my time. I uninstalled this app and reinstalled it and the same thing happened again. So disappointing!

It was working and I added in all my membership cards. When I added my daughter's fingerprint to my phone, it stopped working and I lost all data. Even after deleting and reloading, it still freezes on the first screen when I tell it to use a PIN instead of fingerprints. I have to go find all my membership cards again and find another application. I will not use this one again.

Used to use this a lot. Once the phone updated to the latest phone update, it is not longer available at the bottom of the screen and swipe up on finger scanner does nothing. The Samsung rewards were never worth it as the points expire before you can actually get anything. No longer using it after using if for a year as a physical card is quicker now.

Great form of payment these days! No physical card needed for the point of transaction and no more touching grimy card readers! It also seemed to accept the payment faster then if I would have inserted a chip card. Simply setup your account and hover over it with the app. This is the way to make purchases! It's an healthier option and will speed up the checkout line for all!

Samsung Pay is a pretty cool working concept, and far from perfect. A lot of retailers are rolling out NFC payment to allow all mobile wallets makes the experience better . Some machines that accept tap to pay seem to have issues with Samsung Pay (weird incompatibility with my card maybe?) and resort to having to use my physical card isn't a problem. Don't expect it to be perfect! It's a joy to use despite some minor quirks.

I like the convenience of paying with mobile and generally have had it work almost anywhere, since it can work on magnetic readers also. However, I did use their cash back to buy an item at Best Buy. The cash showed up as pending and sat for about 2 months before I noticed I got a notification the cash back was canceled. I did not return the item and I couldnt read the notification reason. The app itself did not show why it didnt give me the cash back either.

It's nice that this works also with any P.O.S. that still uses card swipe. The weird thing is, the sale on the card swipe types do go through, even though it doesn't confirm on your phone screen. I like that it requires your fingerprint for all transactions. Feels like a more secure transaction that way!

Won't connect. The app worked almost flawlessly on my S8, but got a new S10+, and now the app doesn't work at all. I have called technical support several times, but none of the actions they suggested have worked. I see I'm not alone in this. Also, I learn from other reviews that Samsung has in effect reneged on the promised rewards of its rewards program. I sense a great disturbance in the force as 1000s of former happy users like me bail and go to Google Pay.

Flawed or intentionally deceiving. The app works okay. The idea of the app is that one can rack up points with their offers. However, not only do points expire fast, in some cases, they don't rack up at all. In their terms, it states that points can be accumulated automatically doing a purchase using the Samsung browser. However, if one does not click in the Samsung Pay logo, one does not accumulate points. Therefore, their claim that points get to accumulate automatically is certainly untrue.

What happened to this app. I was able to use it in my S7. I just recently upgraded to the S10 and the app will not work. I cannot get past the loading screen. It will just sit there even though I get an email saying my phone is registered. I tried force stop, clear cache, data, uninstall, reboot phone, reinstall app and nothing works. People have said to factory reset your phone which I REFUSE. I should not and will not do that. So Samsung, FIX YOUR BROKEN APP!!!

So, this is the best mibile pay app period. However, the rewards points are total BS. They expire before you get to any significant reward. Also, they have a section that you can use your points for a chance to win a big prize. This is also a total rip off. I used my points for a chance to win a watch and they gave me a subscription to a Samsung app , I wasted my rewards points and the app was not listed as a prize in the drawing. If you use this app, don't expect any cool rewards points.

This app is really awesome...when it works. Most of the problems I've had recently revolve around my Discover card. The card somehow got deactivated from my account and I had to go through numerous troubleshooting steps before being able to add it back. Then once I finally added it, I haven't yet been able to use it successfully.

I really like that you have added the Loyalty Cards now. That was a gripe previously. I have had Samsung devices since the Note 5. That being said I am currently on an S9 running the One UI with the gesture navigations. I will state this has made Samsung pay unusable. Not because the interface is bad, but because with the gesture features on the OS it gets confused with having the favorite cards feature running which is the only way i really ever use this. Having that quick way to access the application is huge. and not being able to have a little slide out from the right or left instead of JUST on the bottom hinders the potential. Sure i can have the app on my homescreen, but i am very strict about what goes on my home screen as i don't typically go out shopping. That being said It should be an easy fix, add the option for location for the pay drawer. Or look at Nova Launcher for more guidance with gestures. Or you could have us be allowed to use the Bixby button as a Favorite Card launcher.

A few months ago I would have recommended this app to anyone who had a Samsung device. It worked well and, at a time, it was actually worth it to use for transactions. But they drastically lowered the points you receive per transaction now. I was a platinum level user for a year straight and getting a very agreeable 20 points per transaction. At some point they lowered it to a whole 3 points per transaction, yet they didn't lower the points cost for a single reward in the Samsung store. Problem?

Your reward point system is useless. 1 point per transaction??? Then you have items that cost 50,000 points. That's completely unachievable. The point system was better last year and made getting rewards actually possible. The app works great, but if you're going to offer up a reward program make it worthwhile instead of the garbage that it is now.

The app works as expected from my S10+. It will notify you when you go into an establishment that takes Samsung Pay. Unfortunately, it takes a while so if it's a quick in and out, you may not know you can use it until you're back outside. I would like to see better in store advertising that they take Samsung Pay or have the app notify you upon entry. BTW... I like using mobile pay because of the security it affords. My credit card number is never publicly exposed.

Unless a merchant doesn't take credit or debit cards at all, Samsung Pay will cover you most of the time although I've had to use Google Pay in a couple of instances. Samsung Pay works best with pay terminals that have a magnetic swipe reader. Unlike Apple Pay though, one has to open up the Samsung pay app, select the card if different from default, and hit pay and authenticate. At that point, the app starts transmitting to the pay terminal. I've used Samsung Pay with success at Publix and other merchants where they only have older terminals with no option for Apple or Google pay. Where it will be difficult is a gas station pump; you need to activate it's magnetic reader by putting in blank card (or credit card upside down) and then activate Samsung pay at the same time. I have to dock two stars due to all the advert UI mess on the app itself and the method of bringing the app from the bottom of the screen; irritatingly interferes with the normal swipe up menu.

Samsung Pay was working great until a recent update where, like a few other users have stated, the quick launch function disappeared. This is the swipe up from bottom of screen feature and was very nice. Now its a pain to swipe around to find the app icon and dig around the app until I find the card.....all while standing at the register. Please fix!

So far it hasn't been a bad experience. I was even able to put in a membership card that wasn't on the in app list and can use it like any other membership. The app was real simple to use and understand, however the legal mumbo jumbo about putting one of my cards in my wallet was a bit confusing. No one really reads those anyway. Overall I have been super happy.

Definitely room for improvement in the areas of speed of access to the app, completing the transaction with the terminal, compatibility with all terminals, and initial setup. But, I've never had a problem with approved transactions being correct or security. would just like it to be faster and more predictable at the terminal.

Never gave cardless payments a shot until I had to order a new debit card from my bank. I ended up having to wait a few days while the card came but my bank immediately updated my card info for Samsung pay, allowing me to use that in the meantime. It's a really simple and fast method of payment. Especially useful is the ability to activate SPay from your Samsung device's lock screen and authenticate using biometrics, it's both secure and extremely fast because of these features!

Using Samsung pay for 2 years now. Not a fan of the recent update making it much harder to use membership cards. Used to be a 1 swipe 1 click, now i have to dig to find them. Also really upset about the rewards program. Used to get 20 pts per transaction (platinum level), now only 3 points. Really? At least you could have reduced the redemption levels, or made it where pts don't expire after a year. Never thought about looking at other services, but will now.

I like the app. It is very convenient I now leave my wallet with all my cards linked to the app. The only downside is the rewards. I am very new to using this type of technology, but so far, I think it's pretty rad! I really like the convenience of having all of my cards linked to both my galaxy phone & watch for use. The fact that each card has a virtual card number, different from the actual number on the card, coupled with the option to use fingerprint to log-in or authorize payments, creates a sense of security. The same fingerprint can also be used to log in to your banks mobile apps, too... totally cool, totally easy!

App worked fine for a long time and even though the reward system is pointless (since you can't ever earn enough points to redeem before they expire) I enjoyed not having to carry around my wallet so it was nice. I have not found a card terminal that does not accept Samsung pay. There have been times, a very few, that merchants have never seen a phone pay for the items and flat out refuse it as payment. I always insist that it will work, and that it's a new thing (but not THAT new). I often find myself coaching cashiers on how to process the form of payment. Sometimes they have to press the "proximity" button, other times they have to enter an exact amount and process it a certain way.

This app worked perfectly for years across numerous previous Samsung phones, including my current Galaxy S8, but after the Android Pie OTA update last week the app is stuck in a loop asking for iris and fingerprint verification. When I try to skip both and use pin only, I just get an error message and a request to submit a report, I've done this numerous times but nothing has changed. The app works ok, but there are a lot of annoying features. When I open it, it often shows the home screen with a lot of sponsored stuff. This creates a delay right at the point of sale. I orginally used this app instead of my credit cards all the time because of the points before I learned they expire quickly even with regular use. I stopped using out for a full year because of this. All this said, it does work fairly well once you turn off all the notifications in settings.

The new point restructuring is a terrible idea. With the Gear Fit 2 pro being listed at 40000 points and the new point stucture, if I was at platinum level and made 3 purchases per day it would take 12 years to earn enough points to qualify to get the prize. As I mentioned this is at the top teir level, I didnt even factor in the 20+ transactions you have to make to even get to this "Platinum level" It seems hardly worth the effort.

I enjoyed using this app and it can be quite handy at times. However, with the reduction in points per transaction and how quickly those points expire, you can't really redeem for anything before the points expire. Reward Points Expire Too Soon!!!... When I first started using this app last year I was very happy with it. I had built up a good amount of points. Then, suddenly they started expiring. Point system could be better than just a set amount of points per transaction depending what tier you are on. It is very difficult to get to the upper tiers unless you have money to spend all the time. Then, hopefully the store you are purchasing from can take Samsung Pay. I consistently have problems using it at Walmart's terminals for some reason. I shop there all the time and always get an error that it couldn't read my card data. Every Walmart I've gone to does this.

The pay feature works in more places than apple n is very easy to use. My only complaint is that I've done tons of transactions, often reaching platinum status and haven't seen not 1 reward from my loyalty. The points are worthless if you don't purchase 100s to 1000s of $$ on Samsung products thru the app, and I've never won a single item in a drawing. I liked the app... until they trashed the points system. Seriously 3 points for Platinum? For perspective the max purchases is still 50, and they are worth 3 points each at the most, for a total of 150 points a month. looking at the first item that popped up a reward, a smartwatch valued at $200 takes 40,000 points. Some quick math shows us that each point is worth approx. 0.5 cents each. That works out to $9 a year at the absolute most! Utter trash.

Samsung Pay is great in that it works basically everywhere. Where my 2⭐ review comes from os Samsung Rewards. Samsung pay used to be great. the rewards were worth it and actually obtainable before points begin expiring. then they took away the rewards Visa cards. then they cut the points in half from 40 per purchase down to 20, making it even harder to earn the rewards you want because you'll never earn enough before the points begin to expire. and just when I thought they couldn't make it any worse, it's now been cut to 3 points per purchase....not even worth it anymore over other apps.

First there was a major bug that would massively reduce battery life, which took them over a month to fix. Now whenever opening the app to make payments, we get a full screen ad that must be dismissed before being able to pay. Looks like I'm going to have to go back to Google Pay :/. I have Platinum level almost all the time, and I'm making a few purchases a day with the app, but there's no chance I can save enough points for anything useful. And the points are expiring 😤! As a traveler, I have had each one of my credit cards skimmed at some point when getting gas. I resorted to walking inside to pay, just to lower the chance of it happening again. With Samsung Pay, I have the ability to use my GEAR S3 to pay which makes it even easier than using my phone. I've used it everywhere that accepts it, which is most modern payment devices. I'm typically happy with the app. Take it out & pay. It works. It is frustrating when I take it out, and have to stop and agree to modified legal terms before paying. It should have asked when it did the update, not when I'm trying to get through a line. Today when I went to pay, it covered my screen with a popup for some unrelated coupon than I had no interest in. Then when I closed the popup, it took me out of the pay screen. Expect to hold up the line at random inconvenient times.

So I love how you get points for every purchase and rewards for some, but it just bugs me how the cashback awards has not worked for me a couple times already at participating locations. I'll pull up the page to make a cashback purchase once it notifies me but then it goes away or it doesn't open and then I don't get my reward. It's a great option for paying for stuff. I take advantage of the promotional sales, and cash back as well. I would say it works 9.5 out of 10 times I use it. the other .5 is from their register not setup correctly. I encourage everyone to use this app, and it's features all the time. This app now works extremely well in almost all situations. I have to use a PIN code because my fingerprints are never recognized (too wrinkly, I guess), so it's an extra step. Occasionally it doesn't work on older terminals, but that's getting rarer and rarer. And there are still some cashiers who ask to see "the card," but I just tell them there isn't one. I love this app. I've been using it for over a year now and it has never failed me. Rewards are great, and the more you use the app the higher your point increase, and it's all free with basically no ads. You basically just upgrade your debit card into a cash back rewards credit card. Not to mention you can upload gift cards and credit cards into your wallet too. Incredibly convenient, secure, and easy to use, you can start leaving your wallet at home if you want. Fingerprint protected!

I like the convenience of it working on most terminals even though it may not be set as a Samsung terminal. However, my one star knock is that not all terminals work although Samsung says it will on magnetic strip terminals. Additionally, sometimes it hangs and I'll have to run it two or three times before it will accept the charge. Outside of those two issues it is really amazing what Samsung has done here, something I believe neither Apple nor Google have been able to replicate. Cudos Sammy!

What an app! The backward compatibility with older terminals meant that I could phase out a physical wallet with confidence. Loved using it till some time ago, when it became a battery hog. My phone ended up running for only half the time it used to, and it is fairly new (Galaxy S8+) Anyways, had to disable it, and of course my battery drain is back to being normal. Hope Samsung is able to address the problem quickly, and have users like me (there are a plenty) back to using the app.

This works well, has everything needed to be an effortless payment method. The only thing (which I totally understand why is a feature, *for our protection*) I wish wasn't mandatory is the phone lock. I dislike having to unlock my phone every time I want to use it. I did enable the iris scan unlocking feature but I swear it's too slow for me, I always end up beating the iris scan. 1 tweak I reccomend on the numerical unlocking screen is to take away the "ok" button requirement...

My favorite payment app out of all the payment apps out there now. Cool that it works with MST technology in addition to NFC. I have all my credit cards, gift cards, and membership cards loaded into it so never have to carry wallet into stores. One feature that I would like to see added is the ability to have notes for each card. This would be helpful to remind me which credit card has cash back at restaurants, which one has cash back at gas stations, etc. to help me decide which one to use.

Pretty snazzy and convenient. The only catch is even though you can win things by purchasing with your phone and getting points that way, you also would have to pay them off by spending your own money to buy more points if you really want to go anywhere with they're point system. Plus its only they're equipment that you can win, so they got you there too.

Best app on my phone. Huge timesaver. I had begun to get frustrated with the time it often took for cc readers to process the payment but then I replaced the phone - Wow. I now get text notifications of the transaction before the register receipt has finished printing. Cashiers are in awe. The only complaint I have regarding Samsung Pay is the rewards points tied to usage. Program has now capped max points on a monthly basis, lowered points values, and implemented shorter shelf life for points.

Way easier and faster than cards because some readers require multiple swipes or the chip isn't read. Frustrating. Once you know that Pay is accepted and it works at an establishment you got it made. Of course sometimes it takes two tries but it goes through. Lets not forget about the point system and cash back options. They seem very convincing for each scan I do.

Forgot my debit or credit cards?Who cares! I can just pay with my phone! Very convenient. 1. Two suggestions: I use cash back cards for different places. It would be amazing if it can automatically pick the card with the most cash back for the purchase. 2. Having the ability to write a note for the cards will be a cool addition too.

Overall fairly good, my biggest beef is that it only allows you to see the last 10 transactions, and tells you to refer to your credit card statement for the rest. This is stupid, because I use the list of transactions (as I would a paper receipt) precisely to verify whether the statement is correct or not. Likewise, charges show up immediately, but returns do not show up on the list of transactions on my phone at all. Neither of these issues were a problem with Google Pay. What gives?

Really need to add more cards, and more intuitive navigation to membership cards from the favorite cards list. I wish I could have my Chase Business Ink and Target Red card, as well as others. Not sure whether the holdup is due to the card issuer or Samsung, but wish they could get it worked out. From the favorites cards list, you can't see the back of membership cards which is frustrating. The only way is to exit back out to the main menu, select Wallet, select Memberships, select the card, then select Back. Why? Why not from the favorites selection, select the card and swipe it in order to flip it over to the backside? Seems much more intuitive to me.

This app is starting to lose its steam imo. I am making purchases with it (enough to maintain platinum level each month) which do not seem to accumulate points. Then points expire making it difficult to save up for anything substantial.. Also, there's no support service link in the app (or it's REALLY difficult to find..) so all i can do is leave bad feedback. Please make upgrades!

Absolutely LOVE this! There are times when I've forgotten my bank card and this app has saved me. I also use this more often because of the reward benefits. Meaning all I have to do is swipe with my phone and bam I get points which can lead to gift cards etc. I don't think many people know about it, because any time I mention this people look surprised. Great app overall. Just wish my points merged altogether when I switched phone.

Very convenient. Comes in handy if I don't want to pull out my wallet. So, there's an added bit of security with not showing where my wallet is or what's in it. Overall, 8.5/10. I would like to see the option for a backup fingerprint bc I work with my hands and had an issue earlier this year when I cut my main finger and then, of course, forgot my password. Customer service was quick and helpful in showing me how to reset it tho. So, that's a plus!

Extraordinary that I can pay using even non smart-compatible registers. I keep all of my member ship cards at the touch of a finger print, which is astonishing to me, especially with the gestures I can use to open it right away. First time I used it, I ran into issues. But if you just set it right on the reader it works perfectly, in my Experience

The app is good cuz you can pay via NFC, with you debit cards and credit cards. But the only thing I have a problem with is their reward system. The reward points have an expiration date and can never be saved. The purpose of this reward system is to make customers constantly make purchases everyday to get free stuff or participate in sweepstakes. If the reward system didn't have an expiration date on when we can use our rewards, then I would've rates this 5 stars.

Seems a bit "clunky" to use in comparison to just using a credit card, especially now that most cards and readers have the same RFID mechanics. The encryption security is a plus, but does nothing to protect your bank account when at its most vulnerable. (still having to hand your card to a person at a sit down restaurant, etc.) Not sure if the rewards program is much of an incentive yet, but time will tell. I do like the instant notifications when a charge occurs, but does it really mean anything when the notification comes to the device that is making the purchase?

The app is pretty cool and convenient. Really comes in handy and easy to use. My issue comes with the points. I've have been using the app consistently for 2 years and have never even came close to winning any of the "chance to win" I understand it's a game of chance but when the spinner lands on the same color every time, in the same spot it seems suspicious. Also some of the prizes I feel are way to high. Very hard to gain 100k points when you max out at 40 points per transaction. Seems very unrealistic for the average customer

Samsung pay works great with my Capital One card. I get points and each transaction goes through smoothly and is listed properly. Not so with my Discover card. While the transaction goes through and is listed as pending with Discover, the app doesn't recognize my transactions with Discover. I have not recieved any points; it is as if I haven't even used Discover though Samsung Pay. (Discover fully supports Samsung Pay). This app is a good concept. Too bad the bugs haven't been properly removed.

Samsung Pay is super convenient and easy to use! On my Galaxy Note 9 there's a tab on the bottom of my home screen, so I can literally pay with a swipe to open my virtual wallet, and a fingerprint to authorize my payment and secure my account. I've also noticed that it works where Apple and Google pay aren't supported. I think it must have something to do with magnetization rather than using a wifi system, but I'm unsure. I'm more than satisfied with the app!!!

I just started using it and so far it is great. All your credit information and purchases are secured. Can't wait to start collecting Samsung Pay Rewards, and you get so many discounts on items for having it, and I can't wait to see what other rewards and discounts you get for using Samsung Pay. If you don't have a credit app setup on your cellphone. This is one to look at, because it makes purchases faster at checkout when you can do it with just your cellphone.

I love using Samsung Pay! When the rude cashier starts grabbing at the card reader telling me "we don't have that here" the look on their face is priceless when the transaction is approved and the receipt starts printing. Very useful and super quick. The only thing I wish I could do is use the card swipe feature on my Samsung watch. Other than that it is fantastic. Thank you Samsung for such a great service.

Seems to work more places than my spouses apple pay. It stores discount cards and payment cards in an easy to access place accessible without unlocking your phone while still requiring a finger print to make a payment. I wish it included a feature to store other "wallet" type documents like digital licenses, registration, insurance proof, etc. Having those things available from the lock screen but separately secured would allow you to show police documents without opening your whole phone up.

This was my preferred method to pay with everything, mainly because of the reward points and the ability to redeem for various gift cards. However, seems they've removed all gift cards I was saving for. The only options to redeem your points now is for a huge priced ticket item which is nearly impossible due to the fact that the points expire after a year. Wasn't very reliable to begin with. Bye Samsung pay, I'll stick with my plastic going forward, better rewards that are actually attainable and don't expire.

Pretty disappointed. Was nice when it started for the points but it's just gradually gotten worse and the points expire before you can really get enough for something cool. I could get an Amazon gift card when it started but no longer. The points shouldn't expire as long as you keep using Samsung Pay or do something like 2 transactions a month. I just lost over 6000 points. The mag field is flakey and I can't use it a lot of places because places that take cards are either chip only or have manipulated the reader to combat skimming. All the tap-to-pay places take either Apple Pay or Google Pay but not Samsung Pay. It's just easier to take out a card.

I like the convenience of the app. The only thing that I suggest is maybe adding more banks. I live in Lincoln ,NE, U.S. and some banks here aren't listed as compatible with the app. If it wasn't for this shortcoming, I would use this app always. Maybe an idea (to stand out from all other apps that are similar) would be to make this a fully fledged virtual wallet; able to hold insurance information or the ability to upload any other important documents that one usually holds in a wallet/ purse. That way everything a person needs can be accessed easily in one, secure, virtual place. Eliminate the need for a person to carry around phyisical items and build on the convince of an already convenient technology. Just some input from a Computer Engineer.

I like being able to pay with my phone at most places. It think it's a good idea so you don't have to carry a wallet everywhere. It would be cool if I could have a copy of my ID on here too. I didn't give the app 5 stars because the keypad lags when typing my pin. It can get frustrating when you go type your pin and it pauses for a moment. Fix the lag and I'll give it the extra star.

Samsung pay is such a hassle-free time-saving app to have at all times in my pocket. it does not require any extra Hardware on the cashiers part. As long as you can get your phone or NFC device to the card reader, it will work! If there is any drawback to the app, it is on the Merchant's end. I've had more than a handful of incidents where they are unaware of the technology, and therefore sometimes nervous about the transaction. But more often than not, I leave the store with impressed employees and customers curious about the magic trick I just displayed to them. It's just simple. It just works.

This app used to be great. Samsung rewards were very competitive and offered great value. Now they've removed that feature completely. You do still get some points but they're halved, and you can only redeem for Samsung devices and accessories. All of the points I was saving are now useless! You used to be able to choose from 100s of gift cards.

Samsung Pay works pretty good. It's easy to use and convenient to have. I love that it's at the bottom of screen so when needing to make purchases it makes the process fairly quick to swipe up to get your card out. I made purchases at Walmart without any issues. Also, at Aldi. When I tried to pay the first time at Aldi my card got declined but when I tried it the second time it went through successfully. Also, just to note, I did this without having to take my cell phone case off which is about medium thickness.

It's very convenient to be able to pay with my phone. I'm always shocking people when I use it, most retailers aren't sure if it's compatible and or have never seen it work. Getting points is nice and the are several ways to utilize them! It has come in handy when I've forget my wallet, I really appreciate having the option to pay with the phone.

It's awesome when it works, but the problem is, IT ONLY WORKS HALF OF THE TIME for me at best! It really has the potential to work just about anywhere, from a Five Below to Walmart to a run-down gas station convenience store. The problem is, I have had a number of problems with it in practice: 1) About half of the time, I get a "Card Read Error" or something to that effect, and the transaction does not go through at all. 2) Sometimes, the payment actually goes through, but I do not get points for the transaction, and the transaction doesn't even show in my Samsung Pay history. 3) I have had a problem before where I simply couldn't even try to make a payment with a card anymore. I would type in my pin or use the iris scanner, but then it would not do the 30-second countdown. It just instantly failed. I was able to solve this by deleting all of the app data on my phone, re-signing in, and manually re-adding and re-authenticating every payment method in the app. It was a pain in the butt, and there was no explanation for why it happened in the first place! I will also say, I've contacted Samsung several times about each of these problems, but their responses were unhelpful.

Prior to the update, the card would appear in portrait. Now it appears in landscape even if you hold your phone in portrait orientation. I prefer for the car to emanate in portrait mode when the phone is being held in portrait orientation. The pin must be pressed deliberately and slowly. It takes to much time and allows mistake after mistake while waiting in line with other customers behind. Although pulling out your phone to make payments is a convenient tool, it can be and awkwud feeling when it does not work seamlessly.

I really like this app. It certainly has made life more convenient. I don't have to carry a bunch of cards with me anymore. Samsung Pay is fast, easy, fun to use, and secure. The reward points you earn just for buying things you normally would is awesome. No need to pull out my wallet and credit card, then wait for the slow chip reader. I wish I started using it sooner! Samsung Pay is leagues ahead of Apple Pay thanks to its MST technology and works at almost any credit card terminal. Excellent app/service!

Like many others, we can't turn off useless notifications which make noise all day and all night. Samsung does not care. I turned it off in settings and that didn't help. I saw the notes from Samsung saying turn them off in the app. That didn't help, either. Who needs notices every ten minutes saying "Tap here to use Samsung Pay?" Infuriating. Samsung, you have known about this for over a year. Do something!

Because Samsung Pay works about 90% of the time, I'm giving it 4 stars. There are times where the app will have a check mark as if a sale is going through, but then it'll say "Not Authorized" or "Card Read Error" or something. Slightly embarrassing to take out the wallet when it doesn't go through the second time... It might be because I didn't hold the phone there long enough, but the beep can be misleading sometimes. Needs better rewards, or maybe give the points a longer shelf life before expiration.

It is super easy to access in a checkout line. However I do wish the Samsung pay would activate as soon it it detected NFC on card machines. Apple does that I believe. And I wish the card was free and unlocked if it was connected to my fossil watch. But it works great and seems super safe. There's also a point system where you gather points to spend after each purchase so it encourages you to use it.

It's by far the best method to use for payment across any device or operating system. This is not opinion it's fact, I've tried them all, this is the best. I've not carried a card in almost 2 years. It does not work on square but pretty much anything else that can scan a credit card you can use Samsung pay on. Now I just need something to get rid of my Drivers licence and I wont need a wallet ever again.

Works great everywhere (in Casper, WY) I've tried it, even at the car dealership where they didn't even know about it. Had Google Pay before, and it only worked at 1 or 2 places I shop. Read lots of reviews complaining about Samsung Pay being bloatware and getting too many annoying notifications, but I haven't had any such problems. The only notifications I have gotten are the ones I get almost immediately when I use my 'card', telling me where it was used and how much I payed, which I find very useful. All in all, I think this app works great, and I love using it.

Not as happy now that they've discontinued the gift card option for redeeming points. It's still easy to use and most locations accept it. I like the security of not using my actual card. But I really hate the points redemption now. I've tried the Instant Win multiple times. I mean a LOT. Spinner always lands in the same spot. Every. Single. Time. Frustrated because it seems like it's rigged. Mostly just disappointed because I had a lot of points and wanted to redeem for a gift card.

Great app until they took away the visa gift card options for your accumulated points! That'd right. If you were saving for a card guess again. That option was taken away with out any regard to the users. No warning. No heads up to use your points before the change. Now you get to enter contests no one wins or hey coupons for Samsung products you all ready have and those coupons expire at the end of the year. Good luck Samsung...

It works more often than not! As it's hard to tell if it's the app that's malfunctioning, or the stores pin pad I'm loathe to take more than 1 star off. It does things very easily once it's set up. It comes in really handy a lot of the time, especially when you forget to bring your wallet or debit card. Samsung Pay has bailed me out of that very jam on more than one occasion. Not having to drive home, get money, and drive back to the store just to pay the bill makes this app very useful and worth it, even if you use it just as a back up. I do ultimately recommend it, it does take a call to your bank to activate it, however. Which is as it should be, for the safety of you and you back account.

The best part of this app is not only does it work at most terminals, but it also rewards you for using it. A pro tip to remember is to keep holding the phone near the terminal to make sure it processes. Some POS seem to be slower than others and holding it in the vicinity longer prevents any read errors from occurring. Anywhere you need to insert your card you unfortunately will not be able to use it. It works great everywhere else though. Fast, convenient, and rewarding.

This app was great until they changed the point value you earn everytime you make a purchase. I used to get 40 points per purchase. Then they restructed the points criteria and cut them in half. Which i wouldn't have a problem with but the points to buy things hasn't changed. Plus they stopped the gift card you can use your points for which i loved.

Man has this app gone down hill. When I first downloaded this app it was wonderful. I received bonus points and accumulated a ton of points. The rewards use to be very extensive where I could purchase gift cards to various restaurants with my points. Now that was all stripped away and the rewards are few and far between. The newest feature they added was expiring points which I didnt receive a notice about. I accumulated 30k+ points and I just looked at my total today and as of August 2018, 19k of them are expired and I can no longer use them.

I love this app! I try to use it as much as possible and it works like 90% or more with credit card machines that are older and don't even accept phone payments. That's quite a neat trick and it usually surprises the cashier. And there are plenty of redemption options for the points, do I wish they would bring back the Samsung Visa cards!

For a first time consumer of anything other than Apple products, I found it to be slightly confusing at first with the confirmation process and initially using it. Personally, I found that after contacting their customer support and getting to TALK to a person on the other end that the staff was friendly, supportive and very helpful. I thoroughly enjoy using Samsung Pay because of the simplicity of its ease of access and the acceptability at locations where Apple Pay was simply not supported. This app has all but replaced my wallet for its card carrying abilities and NFC options. To anyone who hasn't used it yet, I would highly suggest it,definitely help cut the clutter of a wallet or purse.
