This was our first time using this app and it was great. The car was in great condition like you would expect of a rental. The owner was courteous and communicated everything we needed to know. Definitely a great option for renting a car!
I used this site for the first time and found it to be a great alternative to renting via the normal venues. I enjoyed my last trip and the host was very flexible with our pick up and drop off. The location was great also being close to the airport.
My experience and the service that I received from Turo has been great. My 1st rental had some challenges however Turo did everything they could to correct and make things better. My 2nd Turo rental was beyond 5☆ as the host was amazing with EXCELLENT customer service. To new renters read everything so you understand all options that are available & any cost associated with your rental
This is our second time renting a Turo in the past year. Both of our experiences have been fantastic and so much more flexible and inexpensive compared with regular big name car rentals. We will go with Turo next time we need a vehicle rental again for sure.
I had a very good experience with Turo. Booked my first rental through the app. The booking process was simple and is also flexible for changes. The app allows communication between guest and the host.
I am so pleased with the use of Kristina's Hyundai Elantra. It was super clean and very easy to find at the airport with her directions. The car was a dream to drive with all the bells & whistles. Excellent Turo experience.
Awesome! After we took a plane out of town we needed to rent a car asap. We were unqualified to rent from a well-known rental company. A lyft driver told us about this app. This app saved us! It also saved us much money/hassle from dealing with multiple Lyft trips! it's an easy and reliable site!
I like Turo for the most part. Had some initial concerns while trying to navigate the site. Found a car to rent and the owner kindly walked me through the entire process, making it easy. Will definitely be using this more often.
Been waiting for my security deposit back for over a month because of a payment processing issue. Not through turo directly but they still are being of no help. Suspend this host until its resolved!
Turo will give you that personal helpful experience you have been looking for. You no longer have to rent a vehicle and wish someone could answer some questions to make things less stressful. Turo Owners don't just rent to you and walk away, they make sure that you have a great trip 👍
Turo should give shoppers the option to offer a reasonable daily rate of what they would pay to rent. I'm sure there are times nobody is renting a vehicle and the owner would consider lower just to have it rented, while some browsers might be willing to go higher in price to rent certain vehicles
The worst experience I've ever had. I rented 2 Cars from Turo and everything was amazing when I wanted to rent the third car they start to ask me to upload documents that I already uploaded before. I asked them for the reason of that and they didn't give me one clear reason for it. They also changed me for the third car I rented and I started to open a chat with them just to refund. Finely they issued the refund but no clear reason for the identification.
I've had two seemless trips so far with different hosts. I felt safe and secure during these trsnsactions. This app has made rental so easy, and I'm sure easy for people to earn extra money when not using their vehicles! Wish we'd had this sooner!!
this was much easier than going through the Hassel of a car rental. it still costs about as much. But the person I rented from was super friendly and accommodating. You know what to expect and the transaction was very smooth.
Just returned my first rental through Turo. All went well, car was fabulous, great price. smooth experience. I'll be using this option again for sure.
First experience was catastrophic. It was a late booking, and the 5 start host had 1 location listed, and I can only guess they had taken the car elsewhere, because they hadn't rented it that day, but when I requested rhe rental and they accepted, again I can only guess they thought it was for the next day. I showed up and the address abruptly changed to a city 30 mins away, and I had already been dropped off by an uber. I could not rate the host since the reservation was cancelled. Good concept
Yong driver free under 26. This is enormously expensive and the age is too high. Most other companies have it until 24, some don't have it all. I've installed this app, but didn't use it because it is much more expensive comparing to ALL major car rental companies on US market. This is just useless and overpriced. I don't understand why this app might be necessary. And there are so many limitations. Return to different point- impossible (at least reasonable) unlimited mileage- no. Why?
my sister's engine blew up so she's borrowing my car and it ended up I needed to go some places after all.. lol needed it on memorial Day for a bright and early Tuesday appointment and of course nothing's open and there are no cars available anywhere near here anyway so Toro was my best choice and I'm so glad it was available! perfect car drove wonderfully air conditioner was so cold!! perfect
It was my first time using the app and service and my experience was great all around. I initially was worried I had messed up by not doing the account verification before arriving at destination-worried they wouldn't approve in time but got my approval quickly and was able to pick up vehicle within an hour of my original desired timetable which was fine. Loved it, going to use again in future
This was my first time using Turo and was a little worried about using a personal car. My experience was great! The owner was very patient when our flight and then our luggage were delayed. The car was as advertised. Everything went as smoothly as renting from the big guys. Would do it again.
The idea is awesome but I wish there was a way to see all cars near me and an availability calendar so that I may choose my dates & times for those flexible trips. Right now I must try various combos and ... I give up

Great first experience. My car was in the shop and I needed to get away from Uber/Lyft for a few days. Same price or cheaper than a car rental.
Someone smoked weed in my car and Turo used every possible excuse to get out of paying for the cleaning fee. Which they of course promised to cover if someone smokes in the car. Other than that issue I would give turo four stars. The app could use a little bit of help.
I'll provide details soon. But you better buy their best insurance! At which point, you should ask yourself.... Why not just rent a car like normal!? I would only use them if you plan on renting a car that you can't get through normal rental channels.
HOSTS WILL STEAL FROM YOU AND TURO WILL DO NOTHING. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DISREGARD FOR ANY INTEGRITY. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND JUST RENT FROM A PROPER RENTAL CAR AGENCY. I left a car seat in the vehicle and upon trying to reach the host, he left me with read receipts for weeks. I contacted turo "support" many, many times and they do nothing. They will "send an email" or try calling the host, but nothing ever happens. The host is still able to list his cars for rent. Unacceptable.
We've used it once so far and it went super smooth. Extended test drive for the exact model we're looking at. The app is great, the car was great, and the owner was great.
Claire is a superstar! to respond to any inquiry or questions within 15 to 20 minutes the max! she is super easy to work with. very very accommodating.. The car was well maintained and it was super fun to drive and it's good on gas mileage. Claire is the gold standard of a host.
Traveling from out of town and i was running behind schedule. As I am running behind, the host is communicating with me and next thing I know, I am being canceled for being over an hr late and they still charged me over $200 in cancelation fees. Update: Although I missed the special night I was aiming for, the customer service with turo connected me with a new host and instead of losing out on that $200 cancelation fee, I was able to book another. Thank You!
First experience (and last) was trash. Rented a car for my business trip, cancelled my other transportation (bus) and 24hrs after booking turo, host cancelled the booking with no reason, wouldn't answer my messages. BIG waste of time. Not reliable at all
Better than renting from Enterprise! Twice I rented a car from Enterprise, got a ride all the way to their location, and they didn't have a car available for me. I was able to get a Turo vehicle really close to my home. The owner was very kind and helpful. The vehicle was clean and reliable, and costed much less than Enterprise even when I added the Premium Insurance!!!
The car was perfect for us. clean and comfortable. The trunk is huge. The pick-up was easy once we figured out the correct garage. Eddie responded quickly when we messaged him. Gas milage was good and right now that is important. It was a very good experience.
Unsafe cars, do not use if you value your safety while driving! Turo allows unsafe cars on their platform, for which safety-critical maintenance has not been done. This has happened to me twice out of the three times I've used them, I won't be using them again.
This is a horrible company with sketchy customer service. 2 different hosts cancelled on me, and when I called customer service they said I would have to pay AGAIN if I wanted another booking, while my refund was not even processed. I would not recommend this service to anyone
Daniel the host is excellent!!!.. Initially there was an issue with the A/C, I mentioned it to Daniel and he promptly had it fixed. I can see why sooo many want to TURO with Daniel. I highly recommend him. Also TURO was fantastic to deal with. It was my first experience with TURO... Now I can say goodbye to the traditional car renters!!!
Will never rent again, rented a car for a week and paid 1 day at a time because I couldn't afford one week up front, paid a total of $280 in trip fees for 7 days, looked at the car for 7 days, $98 trip fee... so I contact turo to get a credit, not a refund, but a credit toward another rental since I gave them almost $200 in over payment for the trip fee amd they refused, Hyrecar, Hertz , Kinto, all of those companies provide credits and refunds for long term extensions, not turo...
Kevin was easy to work with and quick to respond to messages. The car was great on gas mileage. Also liked that I could include a beach chair, cooler and umbrella with the rental. Nice Touch!
The owner was very professional, he was readily available each time we had a question. The car was clean and nice, off course reliable. If you need a nice luxury car to rent to for your special day he's the one. loved it 100%.

Turo is changing the game. AirBnB for cars with awesome check in, authentication, ease of use, and trip closeout procedures. I would much rather put $$$ in the pockets of other middle class people like me than ever use a corporate rental company again.

The App is Legit. The ratings are as well. I was nervous about booking and not receiving the vehicle. I picked up the vehicle is a secured location and I must say the owner went Above and Beyond for me. This app is so damn buggy. The calendar often renders blocked off and available days the same color. The app often hangs on start. But the car service is great!
REVISED REVIEW: I've had a couple hosts cancel on me & when Turo finds the replacement car I have had to pay additional fees which I feel shouldn't be required. If I cancelled original car choice I would be fine paying more but if not my choice to change Turo should not add extra fees. Also daily price shouldn't change during trip. I like the wide selection of vehicles. i had a last minute cancellation and they offered some cars to chose from. my issue was the cars were smaller than the type I had reserved and they were not available. I found my own vehicle.
Casandra was super friendly and responsive to any questions or concerns. Car was delivered and detailed. Custom rims and fully loaded with tv's. This is a head turning machine. Great for any occasion.
Turo was a great app to utilize until they took my money and would not give me a reimbursement. The last car I rented the app/company canceled it without explanation. That is fine but the company won't reimburse me or give me any reason why they canceled. All I want is a reimbursement but now they are ignoring me. I use to endorse them and now I wish I hadn't cause they are a horrible company!
Was under the impression that this would be more cost effective for my vacation than traditional services. I was wrong, as the advertised prices are hugely inflated AFTER you go to the trouble of entering all your info. Big time bait and switch. My reservation canceling with few hours notice was a blessing in disguise, as it let me rent with enterprise, which ended up being significantly cheaper than my supposed $65 turo minivan rental (over $150 with fees). Good riddance.

This is a good app to use as an emergency, a second opinion. The fees are high and there's non-optional charges. It is cheaper to rent a car at a regular car rental place.
We were a bit sceptical of this at first, but it worked really well and the vehicle owner was really on the ball with communications. A great experience all-in-all, and much cheaper than Regular Car Rental companies.

This was our first time using Turo so we weren't sure what to expect. Austin was awesome and so was his vehicle! We highly recommend renting from him. His vehicle was very clean and the ride was extremely smooth. Heads turned wherever we went and we received many compliments. We almost wished it was our car! Working with Austin was a pleasure. He replied quickly to our messages and was very helpful during our trip. We would love to rent from him again in the future!!
Horrible service. You are expected to pay for everything and they say that rental charge is x and then they keep adding charges for every other small thing. Absolutely a waste of money. Zip car is 1000x better. Never again. I chose a car for that had a rental fee of 50 bucks and ended up paying 200+ dollars.
I have used turo once and had one absolutely perfect experience with it. the car I rented was nice and clean, the guy I rented from was extremely friendly and helpful, I didn't get charged an insane amount for being below 25 (I did get charged, but not too much.) I'm amazed I didn't know about this app sooner and plan to use it from now on; I even recommended it to my godmother, and I literally almost never recommend anything to anyone. 5/5 ain't enough.
Customer service poor, unethical. I was stuck at an airport without a car I'd reserved. It took over an hour on the phone and four transfers for Turo to tell me they would not make right. Their first suggestion was to cancel the reservation, which would hurt the host, who had done no wrong. Then they informed me they had "exhausted their options". I'm uncomfortable using a company that cares for neither worker nor customer.
I am a new turo customer but my experience so far has been far from ideal. I have an incoming trip today. Had a booking from one week for a 6 seater. The host canceled it yesterday (just one day before the planned trip). Booked another one and got canceled on again. Would not suggest Turo to anyone unless they want to risk their plans.
the people are as good as people are. the app is a touch confusing and I ended up spending about 50% more than expected. I might use again for the best part, testing out different vehicles.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience with Turo. I drove a brand new sporty car in perfect condition. Communication with the host was always swift and professional. Definitely recommend!
Overall a very nice experience. This was the first time I used Turo, instead of just renting a car and I liked it. Service can be much more personal and rates better this way. Kevin was a good host, his car ran well, no problems at all. I'm very satisfied and I recommend both Turo and Kevin's car.
Awesome Deals if you are looking for a unique vehicle to return back into the same town. But if you need to drop off in a different town, it can be kinda tricky. User friendly app. Had customer support if needed. but pretty well organized from check-in to checking out. would book again with Toro. just call and make sure you insurance covers it. or just buy the insurance they provide. which is what I did. felt safe throughout the ride. great host and nice ride.
The website and the process is great! The application on the other hand, I can never login, I always get "something went wrong, contact support" and I have to ask a friend to use their phone.
We got a flat. The host had no spare so the car had to be towed. Turo did nothing to assist with a ride back to our hotel beyond the initial text saying a lyft was being located. After 3 hours and several phone calls to Turo, no lyft and no sympathy or assistance for our situation. Stuck 40 miles from our hotel in a thunderstorm. Luckily a random uber was in the area [we searched for 3 hours] and we got back at our cost.
Uninstalled app after assuming app was broken when seeing the logo staying on screen for more than a second when launched, lol. Reinstalled but suggest that logo appears on screen for less than half a second and also when tapped moves on to the app( currently does not respond )
Great concept. I use turo when traveling and I need a vehicle (especially a fun one). I have read bad stories/reviews, but I have always had a positive experience. One time they cancelled on me but it was 24hr notice, I had already saved several others that I was interested in anyway, so it didn't matter. My reason for 4 star is, when I'm searching for a vehicle and go to review it or check texts, when I come back it refreshes and loses my spot and filters. Minor inconvenience, but it's annoying
Renting cars from private individuals is a great concept but the app executes it very poorly. 1 - you cannot message owners to ask questions before paying 2 - directions for picking up and dropping off are almost non existent. Am I supposed to take it through a car wash afterwards? Do I just leave the keys in the car when I return it or does the owner need to be there? 3 - if you have multiple drivers approved only the person actually renting can view the booking and message the owner
I rented Barbara Ford van it was a great choice for my trip to North Carolina there and back I had no issues with the van it was roomy and clean it drives smooth. Thanks again to you and your son for helping me make this trip happen it was a great success...i would definitely recommend you to someone else five stars across the board😊

I went to look &actually try to use my app &I get this, ineligible notification& my phone blocked! I was told an invoice was on my account! I HAD TO USE A FRIENDS PHONE TO EVEN CALLMy identity is compromised bc I downloaded this app! HACKERS take your account!They do nothing about it & don't care!! DONT USE THIS APP!
Kenisha was a excellent host. She was very responsive in a timely manner. Her car was in great condition, clean and just overall excellent. Kenisha was very detailed with directions. If I could rate her more than 5 stars I would rate her a 10. I would definitely rent from her again.
I was at first skeptical about this APP as the price was alot cheaper than car rental. But it turns out to be pretty much the best deal ever and feels just like a car rental, but cheaper and more communication (via WhatsApp) between owner and me (unlike a car rental company which sometimes is hard to speak to anyone over the phone). Definitely will use this again when I am back in UK!
I am new to turo and I was very reluctant. but Micha was very helpful and patient with my questions. I rented Justin, the 2022 Ford explorer. the experience was perfect from beginning to end. the in person experience was a little awkward since Micah prefers little communication but I imagine it's a safety concern. it was more an observation from a customer service perspective but not a concern at all. I will definitely rent again, only from micha. he is very helpful and has a large selection.
At a first glance, it seems like a perfect place to get a cheap rental in san diego . But after further inspection and all the hidden added fees... You'll save money if you just to a rental car place. For example you want to rent a car for 5 days, it's listed for 35 a day which should be 35×5=175.But instead when you go to check out its: 175+99.72( turo fee) which comes to 274.72.Also don't forget the gas and Uber forpickup,80gas+70uber+272.72=424.72! So 424.72(total)/ 5(days)= 84.94 per day!!
The car wasn't working in second day. The owner neglected to contact me. Turo said they wouldn't refund me because the owner wasn't responding. 25 emails later and after threatening legal action, they agreed to a refund. They ended up never refunding me and have stopped communicating with me. By far the worst customer service I have ever received. Avoid this using this app.
Getting a car with Turo for the weekend was easy and fast. Plenty of choice for the type of vehicle and the app walks you through every step of the process. Easier and faster than renting, and the vehicle I drove was something I would never have found at a rental place. Will definitley be using Turo again in the future.
First time using Turo, went great. Was easy to use and convenient. Especially at the airport. Got to skip the lines at care rental! Vehicle was there waiting when we arrived and just dropped at the airport on our return flight. Host was very friendly and helpful. Great experience and would use Turo again.
We appreciate Turo. Far better and easier to deal with than the traditional vehicle rental companies. The app is user friendly. There are multitudes of rides to choose from and the rental prices are priced sufficient to the make, model and year of the vehicles.
This is a great way to try a different vehicle you never had an opportunity to try with no pressure to buy. My experience with terror was a much more pleasant experience than I had with Hertz rental car.

I recommend you rent elsewhere. I wish I had. I booked 5 months in advance-My host upgraded his vehicle less than one month prior-and was going to match the price for the original reservation . However, the new vehicle came with less mileage than my original rental. So it was going to cost me several hundred dollars more in mileage for my trip. Nothing he could do for me, supposedly. I now have to fork out several hundred more dollars-and find a new rental. New host can cancel anytime too. Yuck.
I absolutely love TURO! I can rent whatever vehicle I need for the area I'm in. it's so convenient and I always get exactly what I was going to rent from a company but for about half the price! And I'm helping a real person... not a giant corporation. The personal aspect is what I like about this service! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Not a good experience. For a trip they take more than 33% and you have all additional costs to drop vehicle, pickup, cleanup. Based on their service the fees are too high. My last trip out of $740, I earned $495 and they deducted $245 plus taxes. Which is lot. Don't forget in addition to that they charge insurance to customer.
The only thing I have a complaint about is the first price you see isn't the actual price. You have to click on the car to see the final price that includes airport and trip fees. Then you have to go back to the previous page and click on the next car you are interested in. It's just a hassle.
Can't complete sign up because app is asking me "enter a valid ZIP code", but I'm Canadian and have a postal code! My postal code is valid and I've tried all possible combinations but the app keeps giving me the same error message! (Which is wrong, it should ask me to input the postal code and give me a format example). Terrible user experience!!
Turo is all that plus some. Shoutout to you guys for creating a platform that allows others to drive the best, the high, the low, luxury at any given time if available. I love the communication between host and everything is in order and properly handled. I am one happy customer and will definitely be a regular. No more "Enterprise or Surprise"

App only works on the happy path. As soon as there's a problem with hosts car or roadside assistance is involved the whole system/workflow fails and customer service is of no help. I was charged for a trip that never occurred due to a defective vehicle and was never refunded. Trips cannot be canceled after they have started even though vehicle breaks down. It was a complete waste my time and money.
As a first time Turo user, our experience was fantastic. The pickup and checkout process is straightforward and simple. The car is incredible, clean, plenty of room and runs perfectly! We will certainly rent this vehicle again.
It's extremely easy to use, there seems to be a solid community built up of hosts and the options range from economical all the way to high-end sports vehicles. The 3/5 rating is strictly because of how misleading turo is initially; you pay that rental fee twice stating it's for the platform to continue to be operational. So that $120 Challenger is really $240 a day, each day. I don't understand why the TURO fee mirrors the rental fee when it should be a flat amount across the board IMO.
Don's Kia Sorrento Hybrid was perfect for our group of 6, four of whom were over 6'. I was surprised by how comfortable we all were riding together. It was also nice to save some green on fuel costs, but no loss on performance. I would absolutely rent this vehicle when family are back in town. Top shelf vehicle, with solid nav display.
First time and I'm impressed. Even with a self inflicted mishap, the owners were helpful and went over and above. Navigating the experience was pretty simple via the app.
Kudos to Brian on our recent Turo car rental experience. He exceeded our expectations in every area of customer service and hospitality. This was our best Turo car rental experience yet. We were provided with a super clean, fuel efficient car and 5 star note worthy hospitality through out our visit. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE! I rented a vehicle while traveling to Las Vegas picked up car at the airport. Had issues getting out of the parking garage where owner of the car told me to meet him since I was flying in. Turo isn't licensed to do business on airport property, the car owner was aware of this but did it anyway and the car was ticketed. Not my fault, Turo tried to make me pay it. I disputed,charges were reversed per Turo. I am being referred to a collection agency
I will rent again from Turo. Great experience. Very easy and affordable. The car was delivered to and picked up from our resort. We were never inconvenienced.
Turo used to be great now the platform fees are ridiculous. It's costing just as much to rent decent vehicles as it would and if not more than renting from other companies like Enterprise. Turo literally makes just as much as each host gets and sometimes more every time a car is rented. So if you're paying 250 for a rental you're paying an additional 250+ after turo adds on their fees for a 3 day rental in most cases with about 300-600 free miles depending on the car.
I've used Turo a few times and had good experiences so far, though it is common for hosts to cancel bookings at the last minute. The biggest thing to be aware of is INSURANCE. If you pay for the most expensive option you get decent coverage, but the cost is insane. For the other 2 options it is only 'state minimum' liability, which in most states is between $10k-$25k. As a Canadian, where most people carry 1-2 million in liability (and lawsuits are much smaller), $25k is unbelievable to me.
This was my first time using Turo and I will definitely use it again. The process was much easier then big brand rental services, also more affordable for luxury/sports vehicles larger selection and more flexibility. Good host made for a good experience.
Excellent service! Two app suggestions: 1) It would be nice to be able to select a range of years instead of just one at a time. 2) Sometimes the search filter acts wonky when you leave it for awhile, resetting itself or resetting partially.
Rented once because I couldn't find one the "usual" way (Enterprise / Budget, etc). After the first experience, I'll never use any other service! LOVED THIS SERVICE. I even used their customer service because I screwed up my credit card, but they fixed it fast. Customer service was pleasant, answered all questions. My security deposit was returned quickly. My first host, Ali, was fabulous. I paid LESS for a luxury muscle car than I would have for a regular sedan through other rental companies.
I used the turbo app and has a fantastic experience. the app was very easy to use and very easy to understand. the process of getting it paid to getting the car picked up was easy and quick. I was able to communicate with the person lending me the car the entire time which made things a lot easier when I needed to extend my trip. cost was a little bit high and the selection was a little low but I really enjoyed the hybrid that I did get to take is a very clean car was well taken care of .
Have yet to use the service but the app is very intuitive and easy to work with owners. Our trip is in July in Hawaii and we're looking forward to the service and it living up to it's reputation. On another note. Can you eliminate jeeps from the list of "convertibles" please. They are not traditional convertibles and it can be easily fixed by simply having the option to "exclude" certain manufacturers.
I would book a car for 2-3 days every week, but Turo 'trip fees" are so ridiculously high that it doubles the rental cost. When you try to book a vehicle for $39/day for 2 days, the rental is $78 and the trip fee is $78, where is the savings? Turo greed is probably keeping many people from using this service since they charge as much for using their app as the cost of the rental. Good concept ruined by greed.
For Guest: This is the best rental option there is, you can mistreat a car that is not yours without having any penalty, you can smoke inside the car as long as you do not leave physical evidence, you can dirty the car as much as you want as long as it is not stains , feces , urine , vomit , you can return the car in any condition , nothing will happen , the mileage charge is super low so waste the car as much as you want . Host , I recommend that you go to Turo 's competition .
It's a scam. You go through the entire process, get your car set up with it showing you a price. Then when you're ready to pay and you enter your card information, it QUADRUPLES the "trip fee" with no warning. If you're not paying attention, you can easily get caught paying twice as much as you were expecting. My bill went from $150 throughout the whole process to suddenly $250 right when I was about to tap to pay.
Beautiful car I thought the ad said it was turbo but I'm pretty sure I read Toro the host was great the car is immaculate and for you that are out there that are not familiar with the high performance mustang there is a small delay in between put your foot on the gas and the car going and that is normal where else can you that has sport mode track mode drag racing mode for under 100 bucks a day the only thing going through your mind is to drive it to the beach top down
So many hidden fees, customer service is garbage, was on the phone for hours just to keep getting disconnected. Renting a car would be easier then the bs that comes with this app. Not happy.
Great experiences with the hosts/renters, but the app is horrible! App acts like we dont have data, even complains about data on airport wifi, keeps loading endlessly, and wont load half the time during checkin/checkout. Two different phones, might work on one but not the other & vice versa, or not at all. When you click a host message to read it, app doesn't cache it, so it just spins/flashes while loading! Very frustrating app!
The application has an extremely poor user experience. I booked a car and soon afterwards, it deducted the payment, confirmed booking and then automatically cancelled it with a vague message around 'triggered required review'. I reached out to customer support twice to check the issue with no luck. Later on, I helped my wife register a new account and she faced the same experience. If required for first time users, why not send a message at user registration that you can book cars after verify
Turo has a great selection of vehicles in the area at very reasonable prices. The app is so simple and easy to use anyone can rent. I can't wait to rent another vehicle for my next vacation and would absolutely recommend you and your loved ones to do the same. I actually rented my vehicle from a young man name Jamie, & he was the best rental experience I've ever had. Super quick, efficient, & effortless from beginning to end. ;>))
To date I've rented four cars with Turo. The cars are often old and in poor condition. But Turo is significantly cheaper than traditional rental outfits. And it's convenient collecting the car with a few taps in the app, as opposed to the incomprehensibly long time it takes to check out a car from Budget/Hertz/etc.
Ashley was a fantastic host! She was very prompt to respond, flexible, and easy to work with. This is a very sharp car that handles very well. It has great acceleration and got surprisingly wonderful mpg.
It's annoying that trips can be cancelled by owners at any time for any reason and I'll have to pay more. I should receive a new trip with similar car for free rather than pay the inflation price 😡
Car was what was expected but there was a noise coming from the car. It didn't seem to affect the performance. Was stopped by police because the registration was expired and the insurance was expired. Called owner. Assistant responded. Luckily I wasn't given a ticket. Video to open lockbox to retrieve key was excellent but it didn't show how to reattach the lock and lock it when leaving the car at the end of the trip. Had to leave the car at secondary parking lot.
The vehicle was nice. The return of the vehicle was somewhat an unwelcome stress at the end of a family vacation. New airport regulations don't allow Turo on their property. So an Uber schedule to take the vehicle elsewhere was an additional charge I did not expect. Plus the 24 hour car wash was closed, so we had to squeeze that into the already tight morning schedule. I booked with Toro to get a better rate. However you have to be careful. many of the cars have higher miles. If something mechanical goes wrong with them then you are stuck trying to find another rental at an expensive rate. Just remember you get what you pay for.
Earnest was a fantastic host! We needed to change both our pickup and dropoff times, which he accommodated without any complaints. He made certain that the vehicle was clean and had a full tank of gas, and had a few fun touches that made identifying Orca easy. Highly recommend!
This app has been very helpful for rentals over the past few years. It's basically AirBnb for vehicles. Super easy, convenient & many times significantly less expensive than airport rental companies.
BE CAREFUL! APP WILL EASILY ALLOW YOU TO BE SCAMMED OUT OF MONEY & CREDIT WILL BE AFFECTED. Rented a car, cleaned it upon return & took pictures. Once I got got home, received email informing me of my account being deactivated due to a complaint of smoking in car. I'VE NEVER SMOKED A DAY IN MY LIFE!!! Disputed claim, told to pay over $200 that can't be paid on app or w/Turo Rep. Amount sent to collections & only collections will handle payment.
The negatives first: Not transparent on fees/total price. Prices similar to traditional car rental company. Hefty deposit; 5 times more than traditional rental company. And the positives: i found one here, and that is if you rent from a genuinely good driver, you might experience good service and decide to become a repeat customer, avoiding the bad after-sales experience that sometimes come with car rental companies.
Prices are all bait and switch. First they sell you on a daily rate. Then they add on fees to give you Estimated Total Rate, (this is annoying but normal). Then after you enter all your personal info (credit card, drivers license) they add on another significant fee at check out. It's a fee they add on to every car but they don't list it till the end so they can get more money out of you.
Drivers and vehicles are great, like airbnb for cars. The app is extremely buggy and unstable. Can't view listing OR access help OR view trip rules while my trip is live, despite being online and having zero issues accessing other apps. Turo app keeps spinning on all three pages and then says I'm offline. Extremely useless. Uploading photos can also be buggy, which is a huge hassle if you're trying to start your trip.
App crashes so much I can't register. It keeps crashing telling me, 'it looks like you're offline". No, Turo, I'm in the middle of town with 4 bars and connected to wifi. Tried for half an hour to register and couldn't get more than 2-3 steps in before it would crash. Fix your app. Stability is more important than anything
I highly recommend this service to anyone who needs a vehicle quickly to get around town or to take a little road trip. the service is easy to pick the vehicle you want, and I love the fact that you can message the person you're renting from. I would suggest as a courtesy just to clean the car when you're finished and put it back in the same condition as you found it.
I was very skeptical of this app. It seemed way to good to be true but it was completely seamless. Finding this app saved me a couple thousand dollars. originally I was going to rent from a commercial rental company which wanted $2500 for 7 days. I paid $450 for 10 days during peak season in Orlando
Very poor customer service. Had a blow out on my trip, which cost me my money and a whole day of my time. Roadside assistance and customer service was of no help. They kept handing me off to someone else to fix the problem and it never got fixed. I read that there would be an investigation to figure out whose fault it was; that never happened. They told me that if the host didn't answer the request there was nothing they could do, I wasted my time/money. You'd be safer getting a real rental.
Awful customer service. Poorly operated. There is no way for you to confirm that the car will be there before your trip, and Turo is not equipped to deal with the situation. The first car I planned on renting was not there. Customer service hung up on me TWICE before answering. The agent couldn't find a rental within a $175 additional cost range, like I was being up-sold. When I found one (in 2 minutes), she hung up on me. They never comped me the additional $61.45 I paid for their failure.
My original booking cancelled last minute. I feel lucky I found a comparable replacement. I suggest the owner should be penalized and the renter compensated. This goes the other way as well (which is in the fine print already).
The BEST car rental company ever! Nothing like the so-called pros who charge exorbitant fees and the ease of extending your time is non problematic. I would definitely recommend using this company to all of my family and friends! The Hosts have been great also.
On my first trip the rental was stolen then returned. The company without notice or even attempting to collect from the criminal sent my deposit fee to collections against the hosts instructions. Did nothing about my emergency expenses let alone the lost trip only quickly and lazily pushed their fee. Worst customer service before the event even happened.
Turo has been a great option for renting a car when I've traveled, especially when wanting something different than the same ol', same ol' of rental chains. Saving some $ on a "regular" car is another great feature I've enjoyed as a Turo user.
Great experience! So helpful, efficient and fun! i needed a rental car for something that came up without much planning. It was also important to me to have a safe place to park my car, and return for the dropoff as it was late at night. None of our local, "chain" car rental outlets could offer this. i was thankful to have found Valerie's! Also the SUV was terrific!
Person I rented from simply didn't show up or respond. Was left carless with no means of transportation and customer support said the only thing they could do was cancel the reservation. Ruined my entire day and was dangerous as I was just left sitting on the sidewalk for an hour. Do not trust this company.
Excellent customer service. Sharon's car was clean, stylish, and reasonably priced. Definitely would recommend without hesitation. Communication was on point from the time of booking until ending of trip.
There were some issues with Turo mistaking my rental dates in the app, but it was corrected automatically after a bit of time with no issues. Overall I'm happy.
I have tried renting with this app on three occasions. I am 0/3 as far as getting the vehicle I booked. The vehicles, if delivered at all, are delivered in unacceptable condition. Telephone support does not exist. Turo will do nothing to support the user if there is a problem with a rental. This experience is intensely frustrating and I am no longer willing to give this app the benefit of the doubt.

Caution: Turo Claims Process proves disappointing and useless. My first experience with Turo was great because the host and vehicle were as described. However my 2nd and regrettably my last experience was not so. The host listed a vehicle that had a mechanical issue discovered on Day 2 the vehicle was completed dead. I immediately reached out to host who informed me that he recently replaced the battery then instructed me to "pop the hood, move the battery cables that may be too loose". WTH
So convenient! Cheaper and so much more reliable than those rental companies. I had to go to three different Enterprises, after making a reservation, only to be told that they didn't have the car I had reserved!! My uber driver told me about this app on the drive home and it was a LIFE SAVER! The car I rented was so nice and much cheaper than it would have been if I had gotten it from any other rental service. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!
Simply put....a great experience! Deer down, Mazda3 GT on the bench and a search lands TURO. Insurance claim in the works, but In between keep me working. Found a great host, with a very nice clean 2019 Sonata, very reasonable pricing per day, and a seamless app on the phone. Highly recommend for any rental needs. The idea is very good but the outcome is very poor. Overpriced, but not because of the car owners put high price... I've got a 2016 Mercedes B class for £177 for 4 days with the minimum cover. I've got it for that "good" price, because that was my first renr. It is £44 a day. Like a normal, proper car rental. But for this price I would get a brand new car, with a proper insurance. On the last day I had an incident and I am still looking after the fix. The full story is on trustpilot.
Verification process on a 2nd driver is a nightmare. Customer service equally terrible. App has major bugs. Very frustrating considering that it's mandatory in order to have a 2nd driver.
Very cool app but depends greatly on the vehicle owner. I had an awesome experience with a rental in AZ and would highly suggest looking at Tiro before going to the standard rental sites. Prices seem to be a bit better than the big rental companies and the level of service much higher.
it was an excellent and easy experience from the beginning to the end. I would highly recommend Turo whether it's just for fun or if you're considering purchasing a certain vehicle, this is a nice way to have a nice, leisurely test drive without the pressure of a salesman.
I had a wonderful experience using Turo for the first time! Owner of the car was very nice and sympathetic when I got lost. The entire trip, including picking up the car and dropping off was a smooth transition. I will absolutely be using Turo in the future!!

Vehicle was mechanically and cosmeticly excellent. Justin was very responsive throughout the process. First time using Turo for me, I would just advise you to read ALL of the info sent on the Turo app messenger. The only glitch was the return process but that was on me, and again, Justin was very responsive and everything went perfectly once he resent the info to me!
My host canceled about 29.5 hours before the trip, but said he and Turo would help find another car. That's fine. I spoke to a representative and made it clear other bookings were too expensive, so I needed a refund. Turo offered to cover some part, but I made it clear again I did not have any extra money. The representative kept pushing for me to book a new trip, but I can't. I hope I get my refund because it seems shady that they kept pushing me to book a new trip. She said I would, but Idk
On my honeymoon at Miami Beach I Ubered out to rent a Turo and left my wallet in my hotel room and Shivek refused to let me book the car. I had a picture of my ID on my phone, a picture of myself with my ID and had previous rentals with Turo, but inexplicably they aren't able to verify my identity for insurance. To make matters worse, they charged a $119 cancelation fee. I don't know how Shivek got to be a super host, but if that's the best of Turo, I won't be renting from them again - deleted
This app is very well made and helps hosts and guests immensely. My only suggestions are the following: the possibility to add customized Extras (such as offering a car tour of our Tesla) without approval and the possibility to reopen a reservation once it expires or gets cancelled by accident, or the request time was longer that a night sleep, in case someone books a car from another time zone right through. I had to call customer service multiple times because of this problem. Thanks!
Used this service 3 times and I've had great experience with vehicle owners, but this app needs some serious work. I have an upcoming rental, and would like to communicate with the owner. The app keeps buffering! It's been over 30 minutes. I'm in my house connected to wifi. This is hella irritating!
First time using Turo and it was so easy. All went perfect! the vehicle was there when we landed. All I did was send flight info. Great Jeep, very clean and ran perfectly. I highly recommend. You will be so happy you didn't wait in line for a rental car.
The app lets the owners cancel your reservation at the last minute with no penalty, however, penalizes renters for anything. There is a double standard the app upholds. If you want something reliable where the rental company respects their agreement, use anything but Turo. You can be left without a rental at the last minute and Turo will do nothing.
I like this platform, but it has a huge flaw. You can't message a host until AFTER you book a trip. Well I can't book a trip until I know specifically if the details of pick of the vehicle will work. Leaves ten's of hundreds of vehicles never knowing if the rental would work out. This is enough to drive me away and stay with current rental systems for now.
The car was as expected and Bobby was a very nice host. This was my very first time using Turo I'm Bobby was quite helpful navigating the app my first time and taking all the pictures. The Malibu was nice and clean, full of gas and drove well. Bobby also has a beautiful Denali and I may have to read that from him in the future.
I would prefer to be able to book 2 cars at the same time. I needed to pick up one before returning another, but couldn't do that. For scheduling purposes, this would have made my day a little easier. However, I love the ease of the app and that everything is shown up front. There is a trip cost fee that I think needs to be explained a bit more in detail, but overall I highly recommend using Turo.
I was very sceptical to rent from Turo so I just rented for a few days and wow I learn it's better prices and actually sometimes it's better to take the extra offers. It's easier if they fill it up save you time and money, also next time I'll add to have it delivered and pick up with Uber price it should be easier as well.
I have been an all star host with Turo for almost a year with around 40 trips & I do not recommend Turo, at all. The money you make will be lost on car cleaning and maintenance, depreciation, insurance, untracked wear, as most guests will never care for your car. You have to take a lot of pre trip photos, pay for regular inspections to be able to challenge any damage caused by guests. If you cancel a trip even with long notice period, you pay $50 + get a negative review. Waste of money and time
It's nice to have options, but Turo is not always the best one. Every host is different, and each have different ways of conducting business, or specific ways of handling their buisness. consistency is a good thing sometimes, like going to an open market or a garage sale v/s Costco. At a commercialized facility like Costco, at least you know exactly what you are getting. Sometimes knowing what to expect before you get there is most important for planning and peace of mind.
Clifton offered awesome customer experience. This was the first time I used Turo and it was a refreshing experience. After having the 'typical' flight experience or awful flight experience, Clifton with Powells Transport made the entire experience a pleasure. I will use them again as Clifton quickly responded to flight changes and helped to navigate the airport terminal. I have had some crazy rental car experiences and in Vegas it is no fun renting a car, unless you use Clinton thru Turo!
Turo is ok when it works. However, when you experience a problem and need to get in touch with customer service, it's non-existent. You can chat with reps but all you get is canned responses. If you call customer service (if you can find the number), you are asked to contact them through email or chat. Luckily I had the problem prior to my trip and was able to book a car through a regular rental company, which was comparable in price. Also, the price you see is not the price you'll get!
Loved the app very helpful. Made the whole process super simple. Was not okay with sharing photos only because it couldnt work without accessing what I already have. But I took pics and video on my own so NBD. Had a fmaily emergency needed to make a 600 mile round trip. Turo found a car for me during Jeep Safari weekend in Moab! Amazing. Mertcan kept in just the right amount of contact and was very helpful!
will definitely use this app again. we had flight issues long story short ended changing flights, dealt with delayed flights went from landing at 10am to landing at 2am and didnt have to worry about the car rental place being closed. our host had terrific customer service and handled everything professionally.
Beware of bad hosts and lack of customer service!!! Long story short, we got a flat, 100% due to poor host maintenance, 4 hours away from our airbnb. Turo was not helpful other then replacing our car for the rest of our trip. In the end they charged us $400 in damages, and a $200late fee after we went out of our way to return the car to the owner himself instead of deserting it. That cost us $500 extra to change our flight and we still got a bill!! THERE IS NO ONE HELPFUL IN THIS COMPANY!!!!

The car is easy to handle and we had lots of stuff and it all fit (with 2 people). It couldn't have been an easier pick up and drop off. Michelle was quick to respond to our messages. I would recommend this rental to anyone.
This is the future of car rentals. I cannot express how easy and stress-free the experience is. You can literally just walk out to the curb after grabbing your luggage, take a couple of pictures of the vehicle in the app, and the upload them then you're are on your way. No long lines or paperwork.
Love how easy is to use the app and all the process to rent the car. Super smooth. If I could point anything is just the fact when searching in your area for free delivery I was showed vehicles from miles away, so pay attention to the location before booking, as the search results are not accurate
I think your service is great except the trip fee is something I don't understand they double the cost to rent a car. on the first page where you give the amount of the rental you should include the trip fee. I understand a deposit charge, but it should be returned when the car is brought back.
I have only used Turo one time, however, my experience has been a rather pleasant and pain free one. The fact that there were vehicles available same day as booking was impressive, and it still wasnt that bad as far as price goes. I definitely recommend Turo, and will check them out first the next time I need a rental.
Turo lacks customer support and host (car owners) do not reply in a timely manner making planning a trip very difficult. Turo unresponsive and lacks in trouble shooting alternatives. First car rented worked out OK but after first trip its been very very difficult and no reasons for problems. No one to talk to so hence the review.
Bad customer service. You can't do many things on this glitchy app. Such as arranging premium insurance on certain cars. The communication between them the guest (me) and the host is atrocious and slow, which is the last thing you need at 11.30 on a Sunday night when your flight arrives in 24 hours. I'm being told it's been elevated, but there is no guarantee of when a call back will come and what vehicles will be available. They didn't get back to me on time to fix my rental. Not recommended.
Karen was prompt with pick up and drop off of the car. The car ran well with, no problems. A wonderful way to get around Kauai, the ability to rent beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and towels, was a huge savings and a time savings. No more rental car companies for us, no lines to wait in, it was just a matter of 10 minutes and we were heading to our destination.
The app is currently broken for me on two devices. I use a Samsung Note10+ and a Note20 Ultra. On both devices, when I go to extend my rental, the app tells me that I am not connected to a network. This is regardless of being connected to WiFi or mobile data. I have already downloaded the latest update, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleared the cache and cleared all user data. The only workaround I have found is to extend from the website.

Do not use this app! Very first instance I was immediately a victim of an attempted bait and switch. I say attempted because I immediately contacted customer service to tell them that we're done working together and that I wanted my money back immediately. The customer service agent on the phone asked me well how much is your refund and I thought this is the dumbest question I've gotten from a person who should obviously know. I told them how much and then they tried to short me $5 nonetheless.
excellent strategy if you want something outside of boring airport rentals. fees are a little nuts. but still cheaper than hertz, depending on what you get. communicate early and often with your host.
Honestly, I was very hesitant about using Turo at first, but now I am so head I did. It was cheaper than renting a vehicle usingtraditional methods and had ao many more options. I easily found something that I liked and ended up with Abe, who was an awesome host. I will be using Turo again.
I love this app, reasonable prices. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the young drivers fee was added to my trip and I'm 33 years old. It literally said for 25 and under. I had to pay an additional 210 dollars for that. One trip I was about to book was charging me over 600 so I went with the 210 trip instead. It was a little difficult reaching someone to remove it but they did eventually. So next time it won't be a young drivers fee. Other than that the app is great.
Be careful. My first time booking they took my money and close my account so I couldn't use the money that they holding to book another car. That took away my ability to book on the same weekend that I was trying to go on my trip on the business trip. They cost me more money than it cost to even go on the business trip and I'm still out my money y'all be careful cuz they can cancel the same day and not refund your money for 10 days so you'll be out your trip and your money
Great service when it works, but completely unreliable. I had a rental cancel on me in the middle of the night a few hours before I arrived for a week-long vacation. Turo customer service was unable to help me find a replacement vehicle on such short notice, so I had to pay significantly more for a last minute rental at one of the normal car rental companies. While I think it could be useful for other scenarios, I would never use Turo again for renting a car that I need at a specific date/time.
Clean app but lots of hidden costs. Trip fees AND insurance not included when doing a search, only thru payment screen that get added on after. Would appreciate full total price upfront when using the filters etc.

I've Rented through Turo several times and it was great.. Up until now.. I received an invoice from my last trip for $257, for a smoking fee.. I NEVER SMOKED IN THAT CAR, EVER!! They claim the Host sent pictures, but I can't view them because they Deactivated my account.. I had to call my Bank to block them from charging my account.. because they definitely tried! Customer service escalated my issue to somebody that has yet to reach out.. The host I used was Jame's Scion TC.. Beware!
Customer service is horrible. Even the smallest issue like an electrical issue with a car turns into a complete nightmare. Really will think twice before using this service again. Lowering rating even more. Company thinks its okay to charge your card after trips without so much as a message telling you what the charge is for. Oh and the charges are total bs.
I had hoped Turo would be an alternative to the rental car companies that treat customers like liabilities and enemies. Turo is basically exactly the same. It's a stressful experience, from needing to take pictures of the vehicle, to all the ominous cleaning messages. It may be a bit cheaper, but it is still a bad customer experience, period. It's no significant improvement over a normal rental company.
so far I have rented three vehicles through turo, it is so easy and so much less expensive than conventional rental. I've had The Good Fortune to find people renting their vehicles near my home when I needed to take my vehicle in for car repairs. I would recommend it to anyone.
Thank goodness for Turo! We had an exceptional experience renting a Slingshot for a fun three day cruise around the Emerald Coast. App was easy to use, instructions thorough and clear, and the ride was amazing! We will definitely use again and highly recommend!
Never will I use a rental car agency. This experience made me less anxious about my own vehicle being in the shop. Looking forward to the next time I use for leisure. So many exceptional choices of vehicles and only my thumbs exhausted energy in this process.
Being able to pick your own car and know that's what you are getting was amazing. Communication was en pointe and the vehicle was wonderful. Everything was seamless. Will for sure do this again!
Tykyrah made the whole process seam so effortless. She was even gracious enough to drop off her vehicle at the terminal. The return was just as smooth. The drop off location was literally at the doorstep of the airport. I will be on the lookout for her the next time we're in town.
great rental,clean,no problems over the road ,but should try giving better deals on vehicles, and mileage. Especially with extending trip to hours and not days, I had to pay for a extra day because the return didn't cover the whole day.
I'm not sure what's going on with Turo. When we first joined 6 months ago they were awesome and wonderful to work with. We've gone through quite a bit to get responses or help these last couple of months (or just give up)! We are currently looking for another ride share program for our cars. They need to find a way to relist cars more quickly after inspections, to respond to problems with guests disappearing with our cars, to publish our reviews of drivers, and to cover things they agreed to etc
If you like to rent luxury vehicles like I do, you might want to use turo! My rental Porsche was as nice as any. Having it delivered and dropped off at airport, was more convenient than waiting in line @ sixt. Having a vehicle delivered by the owner who cares about service, really made the difference!
Too many fees. Basically same prices as a regular hire car but for someones 2010 run around. Trip fee, delivery fee, sales tax. EST cost is miles off and you don't know that until you complete your profile.

App is very easy to use, simple and to the point. the person we rented the vehicle from was amazing from beginning to end, the vehicle was above our expectations.
I rented a car from this app and went great so I rented another the next week. I got a notification a week after I would be accessed a smoking fee of $277 when I never smoked in one of the cars but they were going back and forth on which car it was. They claim they found remnants and uploaded pictures. I am unable to view these pictures since they deactivated my account and have not sent emails when I was told I would receive them. I was told I would be escalated to appeal but was charged.
some hosts on this app are absolutely amazing. The experience can be better than renting a rental car depending on who you get. simply do your research on your house before renting and you should be okay. this app is very convenient for last minute rentals and also long trips. cheaper than any rental company we've encountered and we did a lot of research before choosing this app.
There was an issue with a car I had reserved. I got a smart friendly person from Turo that found me a similar car and they comped the difference in price. They were very responsive and made everything right easily. Impressed by customer service.
Support isn't helpful at all Had this app for over a year and I've been "restricted" since signing up. I think it was because I was 20. Now I'm 21 with an updated licence and they still can't tell me the reason why I'm restricted Seemed like a great app considering I travel for business weekly. But it's no help AT ALL
Don't waste your money. The headache afterwards is not worth it. I had a good experience until the trip was over. They hit me with a cleaning fee over some candy residue on the back seat. This is in their policy as something they won't charge for. I would have spent 10 more minutes to clean if i knew they would ignore it. An unexpected 154 dollars is what they charged me and contacting them to dispute this is a joke. They even told me the claim was "accurate and legit" ignoring the pictures.
Good app for booking affordable car rentals or listing your car for extra income but I have been waiting for my first payment for almost 3days since my car was returned. I wish they could pay in 24hrs after the car has been returned just like CURRI does. I hope they can fasten the payment process especially that they got our direct deposit info.
Great app. Turo saved my butt when there were no rental cars available at the Columbia, SC airport. Reservation was quick and easy and the car host met me right outside baggage claim. The car and service were great!
I was skeptical with using Turo at first but after receiving such great service at such a great price I can't help but give it a five star. It's the Airbnb for car rentals. I was able to rent a luxury vehicle for a non-luxury price. I will definitely be using in the future
It's Airbnb for cars! Used it once so far and it was so convenient! Definitely recommend over the rental car companies. You get nearly unlimited selection of vehicles and is definitely cheaper than a traditional rental car. You can also add up to 8 drivers for no extra fee and there was no fee for drivers under 25yo. Pickup and dropoff is also as flexible as your host wants to be. Great business idea. Will use again.
Its not awesome if you are an all star host and need customer support. It's difficult to speak with a human and the text chat option does not work great on the phone. The app also cuts off the view of trip dates in the phone for hosts.
I'm never using an old fashioned rental agency again. Turo is the way to go. Super easy, huge variety of vehicles, and extremely competitive rates. Awesome experience!

I'm an avid zipcar user. However I was unable to hire a zipcar due to the restrictions of the zipzone yesterday. So I opted to find another alternative. TURO promises some really good prices at 1st glance but please don't let that draw you in. Once I completed the set up to hire a car - the price was initially £37 for a day. When I eagerly accepted I was brought to a page that had all these options. The trips final price before entering the car was in excess of £60 ridiculous!
Liars and scammers. Twice now I have tried renting a car and twice now the car hasn't been available for pick up. Don't expect to get your money back easily. Hosts are unresponsive but are the ones who can cancel the trip. Customer service is useless. Don't waste your time and money.
App was a much better option than renting from the Legacy companies. I rented a stick shift to teach my son and rented a car for a leisure trip that saved me more than half the money. Only thing is I caution the renter to pay attention to certain fees they could potentially significantly raise the cost 9f the rental.
The idea is great, but the service has some pitfalls. On a recent family trip to Phoenix, we were forced to cancel our flights and drive from Denver because the host I had reserved with informed me (with less than 24 hours before our flight) that he no longer had the vehicle and at that point all of Phoenix was sold out of rental cars for the holiday weekend. There was no recourse or even a way to leave a review for the host who caused a major inconvenience for me and my family.
Wasted time trying to get valid postal code to work on the booking. Changed credit cards and got the booking confirmed only to immediately get a cancellation from Turo because the app is so incapable of validation it would rather lose business and a high paying customer. Horrible experience and now I have to wait for them to return money to my credit card from 5 to 10 business days. If it didn't work then why charge my card anything? Very negative customer experience.
Recent update that made put everything in dark mode makes the calendar, reservations, and black out dates much harder to see as a host. With no option to change the mode. Garbage update.
Turo started out as a great option but have learned that if a seemingly simple issue with trip(i.e. car swap, extension req or requesting billing history)arise it may turn into a nightmare. Support will reassure the issue will be resolved, however it may devolve into hours long phone calls with bizzare lengthy hold times. I did really like several hosts as they were very accommodating & a pleasure to work with on a trip. It's really a shame turo support isnt up to par with the hosts.
The absolute best way to travel by saving money, and using a vehicle that you choose. This app allows you to find a vehicle that suits your trip, your style and connect with hosts who at times can give you some great tips about where your traveling!
Nice app concept, but pay attention to prices some are flat rate fees posted, but a lot are doubled for some reason I noticed when I was reviewing charges on my card and turo account was doubled plus taxes added... so I went way over budget on my last trip now I have a bad review bc my account got froze and I'm unable to pay n fix due to inanity to
The app is difficult to navigate and takes a day to update earnings and an hour to update the calendar. It rarely charges customers my delivery fee. It does not walk a new owner thru the setup process, I just had to keep clicking on things until I was approved, and even then I missed stuff. I've had great success with renting out my Jeep, but the app itself is problematic.
I've used this app once. The host had a great car, and great responsiveness. The process with Turo is ridiculous. Car rental is easier. Now post trip I am going back and forth on some incidental charges that are valid but Turo hasn't charged because of "evidence" not being uploaded. Pickup and drop-off of the car was also stressful because the app requires connectivity for picture uploads etc and I literally had no signal at Orlando airport. Great idea, this, but fix your processes
The first time giving Turo a try my rental car broke down 3 hours from my original start location. Any reputable company would understand and arrange for a way to get back to your started destination or agreed return location. However after hours of text, chat, and calls with customer service, the best they were able to do was provide a $50 Uber credit. I had to arrange my own way home and it ruined my trip and was left $400 out of pocket by getting a one-way rental with another company to get back home. I was under the impression this cost would be reimbursed because I was not at fault for the mechanical issues from the car after talking with a service rep. However, they decided they will only reimburse if I used LYFT or Uber even though there were none available where the car broke down. If you plan to leave anywhere more than 15 miles from the pickup with no LYFT or Uber and have problems, expect to pay out of pocket for any expenses. Horrible customer service. I could go on but these were my biggest problems.
good app for traveling or to just rent a nice car for the weekend. really cool you do not have to be 26 to rent!! only downside is you can not search for a certain car, just cars in an area. the pick up and drop off was very easy but it seems to differ depending on the owner of the car.
Signed up because I thought it would be a cheaper alternative to traditional car rental. Needed a car for 1 day. Found one for a very cheap rate at $35, but Turo charges a "Trip Fee", which they say is a "percentage" of the fare to cover costs. For this $35 trip, the trip fee was $35. Meaning this "percentage" is 100%, literally doubling what would have been a very well-priced fare. No thanks, terrible first impression. Won't be using Turo anymore.
1st Turo rental with Phillip and I am hooked. the end to end experience beats any commercial rental car experiences I have ever had. But to be fair, you have to link up with a Super Host. The car you book is the car you get, you have a lot of control on what service features you want to include or exclude and the convenience add for end to end pick up and drop offs is worth it for me. Definitely worth checking it out. --NT
It's a great idea, I've used it once, but a $34 a day rental shouldn't equal out to $130. No matter what math you're doing. Unacceptably rapey. Especially considering the "ride fee" doesn't go to the car provider, but to the app. And comprises the majority of the full amount. Unfair to all parties involved. Minus one.
The app is OK at connecting to car rental. Don't like the app fuctionality and tha fact that if you make a mistake they will want to charge you 13.50 every time you want to make an update. The app was glitchy in many of the steps. Returning took over an hour to get it to go through. Not likely to use again. It would have been nice to have pickup and drop off in different locations.
I LOVE Turo! Seriously... I've never had a better experience with renting cars. So far I've used Turo to rent 3 separate cars and each time I've been pleased with the overall experience. I recommend the app to anyone that's looking for a WAAAAY less expensive way to rent a vehicle. There are so many options to choose from and you don't have to worry about the hassle of paying a deposit or so many fees being added that you can't keep up. So choose TURO TODAY!
Turo is like a cross between Airbnb and Enterprise, and it works great. I've used this application twice and been satisfied both times. if you're looking for a reliable alternative to standard rental car services, this is it. It's almost always cheaper than enterprise and similar services too, with better personal communication throughout the process.
Great service, as long as everything works out well. the second anything goes south, you are very screwed. Tier 1 service is poorly trained and inconsistent, and a bad experience can spiral out of control quickly. That said, Hertz ain't gonna give you snow tires, so if you're renting in the mountains, you may have no choice.
uploading pics is very flaky. the check in and check out process should support offline mode (or prevent cars from being parked in underground garage). had a terrible experience in pick up and drop off as the app wouldn't work without network. had to go in and out of garage multiple times.
My experience with Turo has been fantastic! I started using it when a friend of mine got a very cheap month long rental. The car was is fair condition, and definately worked to get around. Some of the vehicles arent always exactly perfect, but they honestly dont need to be! If you want to save money on renting a vehicle, this is the app for you. Easy check in, easy check out, very straight forward. Also, if you already hold non-owner insurance, you can opt-out of buying Turos insurace.
Had my first rental through Turo. After some initial skepticism, I tried it for a low-cost day trip. I may never use a standard car rental company again. The app was very easy to use, the car owner was courteous and professional, and the car I rented was very well maintained. All for less than half the cost of a typical car rental on Christmas eve! TL;DR: I really love this app/service and actually look forward to the next time I need to rent a car!
Sign up is horrible, it sent me confirmation email and I tried 6 times to confirm it and it kept giving an error and re-sent new codes. Got signed up and approved. Then you go to rent and it shows the prices. These are without Turo fees and no insurance. I can understand not showing the insurance in the cost, but the fees should be shown. It can easily double the cost and at that point a standard rental is cheaper. I tried reaching out to support and they won't take the submission. I'm done.
Great idea, but totally unreliable. The guy cancelled on me 2 hours before the pickup. I would assume there should be some charges to prevent such behavior. Ended up losing tickets to a show plus hassling to get a new rental. If you do end up using it, don't rent new listings and unrated hosts, also check the reviews for cancellations.
This is a great idea, but hopefully someone will create a similar app which gets it right. This app includes a phantom charge called "Trip fee." This is "a percentage of the trip price calculated by Turo, and varies based on the expected costs to support the trip, the vehicle's value, trip duration, and other factors." This is a bunch of nonsense, of course, and the cost isn't trivial. The listing I'm looking at right now has a Trip fee of $80.39. Some owners offer free delivery. Otherwise you'll have to pay a hellishly expensive delivery fee. Then you have to add trip coverage. It's cheaper for long term rentals, but it's essentially the same for shorter trips. Then you have to deal with the owners, who are not entirely honest. I tried to book a car today near Dulles airport It turns out the guy is 25 miles away, through some of the worst traffic in the US. I ended up getting a rental car because the price is almost the same and I am dealing with an established company, not an app and a complete stranger.
