This app is amazing. I once had premium and the service with premium was fantastic. Now I'll just need to save some money to get premium again. I love how they have the lyrics time synced with the songs. One small issue though, sometimes the lyrics are wrong or they show they show the music symbol for a solo part of a song to early or late. Other than that the app is great overall. I don't like the adds with the free service though. They're all terrible.

I used to love this app so much. But these updates have killed this app. No more song previews, only 5 or 6 songs play, it's awful. How will I know if I'll like a song now!? Plus, you can't just choose a song and listen to it NOOO you have to put on a whole playlist to listen to it. Plus, the ads were tolerable but there's more than ever now. In addition, you have limited skips. On the computer you can listen to any song on repeat with unlimited skips. I think you guys are getting too greedy.

Spotify has become super glitchy. I'm a paid member and I've been CONSTANTLY and CONSISTENTLY having issues. The player at the bottom of the screen disappears more often than not and when that happens I can't use my Bluetooth controls at all, which I use Spotify mostly at work and cannot stop what I am doing to close and reopen. Most of the time it freezes or won't respond! Shuffle isn't shuffle anymore it plays the same few songs instead of the whole playlist. A lot of times in the same order.

They keep adding songs go my playlist if there are less than 15 songs. And I only get 6 skips an hour . The commercials are offensive to me and there is no way to block them without getting premium, YouTube at least let's you skip them if they over 15 seconds. The one plus is that I can play it with my phone closed so it doesn't drain my battery. Also it automatically shuffles your songs so you can't randomly pick one to listen to hence why you might prefer a shorter playlist.

Original 2021: It's always been and still is very buggy. Update 2022: Still buggy. If i switch to Apple, bye bye Spotify. I'm surprised at how much worse they keep making this app. They clearly have a huge backlog of technical debt and moreover are constantly conducting multivariate testing meaning large chunks of users get totally different experiences. Anyhow, I think the key thing to remember is to do your main task well (play music without sudden starts, stops, and Bluetooth failures).

Doesn't work as well on an Android (it was far better looking and more functional on my mother's iphone), but it is nice nonetheless. I was able to take a 3 month free trial which has already made it better for me, so I do not have any major complaints. I would just recommend fixing the functions when installed without the Premium deal on an Android.

Best streaming library, worst UI. Been hopping the last year or so between all the big services and I've landed back here. I'm still disgusted at this interface. Nothing about this is intuitive. I miss the old ui. The AI sucks. If it weren't for the fact that Spotify has wormed its way into integrating with EVERYTHING, I would not use it. Wish I could turn podcasts off.

Was 5 stars until 2 days ago. Now I get commercials everything I open the app, and I can't listen to music I put in a Playlist because you all just add a bunch of random songs you think I would not even from hearted list of songs. If I click on a song specifically to listen too I get sent to random 0laylist with song in it and still don't get to listen to specific song. Uninstaller and going back to pandora

I'm a bit frustrated with the settings. It always seems to be running unless I force close it. I don't want it to autoplay when I turn on my car and yet it still does with auto-start denied and spotify connect turned off. Plus the battery manager says that it is running for several hours after I stop playing music.

This app is worse than bad. Is there a zero star rating? Constant issues. I've already downgraded to the free version. Now I'm just waiting on Rogan to wake up and leave your company. Terrible. Absolutely terrible coded app. Follow up: Amazon Music has been working wonderfully. Downloaded albums actually work. The application actually loads in faster than 10 seconds. Sound quality blows Spotify away too BTW. Rogan is the only reason this is on my phone. Spotify, you should be ashamed.

I used to be fine with it on phone because i thought maybe it was hard to program being able to select single songs and rewind and stuff, and that xbox got those features because they have a deal with microsoft or something, but now when i was on my phone and xbox at the same time i learned that phone does have all the features to rewind and go back to last song, you just cant get those features unless youre on an xbox at the same time (or probably have premium), which makes no sense

I pay for the family membership and it's worth every penny. I don't have to deal with ads, can queue up whatever songs I want, change songs when I want, and the selection of music to add to playlists is practically infinite. Even if I can't find the exact song I'm looking for I can upload it myself from another source. An overall awesome app! Don't listen to the cancel culture nonsense.

I absolutely love this app, it's the best free music app I've had! It's even got the Undertale and omori soundtracks. However, my music keeps shuffling, and I don't know how to stop it from shuffling. Ik that green play button on my playlists has the shuffle button on it, and I'm not sure what that means lmao. So, if someone could help me out with that, that'd be cool.

The app is amazing, except for one thing. When I make a Playlist, it adds random songs to it. There's no setting to turn this off either. If I want a Playlist containing songs I like, I don't want random songs I may find inappropriate added to the Playlist. Don't tell me to get premium either, it's absurd to force extra content onto someone. Premium should be to add content, not removing forced content. Other than that, I guess it's ok...

Love spotify but please place the play/ pause button controls back to it's original position. I've been communicating with Spotify Support who also couldn't figure out why this was happening. Eventually I received an email stating that this new change is probably a temporary test. I expressed concern and hopefully it goes back to normal soon.

I hate free,it sucks-premium is the only choice, and it is worth so much more than the small price...I wouldn't dare listen to anything else...the visuals or videos are not what I truly seek-the songs and the insight of the bios and the entire albums or singles from the artists' entire career or their musical debut is a cool feature to explore. With premium,there's so much to find and queue is the bomb to set up all my choices of songs! You had me at hello,dearest Spotify...you had me at hello!

My decision for a 1 star review is simple. Constant pausing every time I put on a playlist that forces me to go into the app and start the music up again. This has not happened to me before until now so it leads to believe it is a problem of Spotify itself. Fix this and I will give a more positive view. Android users beware.

Is music cutting off during "30 mins of interrupted listening" or even during regular play a cynical way to force spotify premium? Happens once or twice every single day. I've restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and cleared cache. I've accepted not having control of my playlists and having ads, but I can't even listen to two or three songs in a row without the app turning off on my phone.

I left spotify a few years ago for YouTube Music. A month ago, I came back because I can listen to podcasts at work. I purchased premium so that I could listen to my podcasts without ads. Now I remember why I left in the first place. The only place I can listen without ads is if I go on the web browser specifically. I only have 1 account, yet if I listen on my phone or on the desktop app, I still get ads. I've tried every troubleshooting tip. At this point I just want my money back.

Spotify use to be my favorite music app that I had. Better than Pandora. Recently within the last month or so I lost the ability to preview songs before adding them to my playlist. This isn't a big deal when it comes to songs I already know, but makes experimenting with new songs and artists a pain because I can no long sample what a song is going to sound like before adding. I have read on several threads online that this feature may have been removed permanently? I hope not.

I'm not sure if anyone has been having similar issues but basically since March the app has been freezing and crashing. It won't load artwork and it takes five minutes for a song to load. I'm a very busy person who doesn't have time to wait for a song to load every time I turn on the app. I have switched to YouTube premium with music until Spotify gets it together. I have used it exclusively for the last five years but the app performance is so bad that I finally canceled my premium sub.

It's better to use on a console, because there is no automatic shuffling, you can listen to what you want when you want, and the "30 minutes of free listening" actually works. But on mobile, random songs will appear, you can't listen to a playlist/song without shuffle, and the "30 minutes of free listening" only lasts for like 2 songs. Also on mobile you get 6 skips per hour but on console I get unlimited. I give it 4 because of how it is on other devices but if it was the same it'd be lower.

I'm one glitch away from switching. I like using the queue function to craft vibes on the fly, but the function is infuriatingly glitchy and inconsistent. It disappears completely about half the times I've used it recently. I've researched the problem and there are certain situations in which this is a known error, but even when I avoid those, the problem persists. Imagine taking time to hand-pick tracks from different playlists & albums for your long drive, then losing it all for no reason. 🤬

App runs horrible on my S21 Ultra. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times. Honestly hot it because of the 9.99 for 3 months deal, but I don't think I'll be using after this. Constantly passes my podcasts for no reason, so I have to keep going back into the app to resume. I'm a truck driver so this is very annoying, seeing that this is one of my only sources of entertainment for most of the day.

The problems this app continues to have astound me. My qeue will randomly be deleted. I'll click one song and have it start playing a different song. Often, you press the little heart to like a song and it doesn't register. The whole interface has become extremely laggy. What's going on? Please fix these actual functionality problems and stop changing the UI for no reason.

Recently tried logging back into my account on my phone but was unable to. They would not send me an email or instructions on how to reset my password. There are also way to many adds. The app plays multiple adds in a row and rarely ever gives you an option to get 30 minutes of add-free music. Went ahead and deleted the app and got Pandora.

The app overall sucks. It never gives me 30 minutes of ad free music anymore, and when it does it crashes and gives me ads again. The categories on the Liked Songs never work anymore, usually it plays stuff from the category but now it's like the buttons have no meaning to the app. Please fix this. I've listened to Angst and it brings up all Happy songs. It also counts musicals as regular songs when it should only be musicals in the category. Just please fix this.

I've been using Spotify for a while now but I'd give it a 5 star, but since they took away the little preview for the songs and the ability to view other songs shuffled with it. The ad's are annoying but you get used to it. All I'm asking is to bring back the preview of the songs and to view the songs with it 😞😞

I love spotify. But sometimes it doesmt show the play bar at the bottom of the screen or notification in my notification center which makes it super annoying to find out whats playing. I also cant pause or skip while that is happening. Ive talked to other people about it and the same thing happens to them.

Update, no change still. They need to fix Samsung issue they are having. My phone was so screwed up after these customer service reps that i had to factory reset my phone, i ended up with 0 phone service during the holiday weekend over this issue and I'm so unhappy after 12 years of being a premium customer that I'm about to switch apps extremely quick if it doesn't get fixed ASAP!! It's been weeks. I need music with or without spotify. They refunded last month but that's not good enough

I have been a subscriber for a long time. Suddenly I cannot access Spotify on my phone, although it is still accessible on my computer. I also cannot update my email address, because it gives me an error message that my current address is wrong, because it still has the old email address. I cannot delete the account or pretty much do anything to fix whatever is wrong. Pretty frustrating.

Not the worst but quite bad, sometimes one wants to only listen to the things they like, yet sometimes the app will "recommend" and will force you to listen to said "recommendations" and if you skip them, then it takes up the already limited skips one already have, so that is quite annoying, and also, whenever there is an ad, they will multiply by three so instead of one I have to listen to three ads before going back to my music. So yeah not the worst thing in the world but quite bad

I love this app. Have been using it for years. However, I've recently switched from an IPhone to an Android, and I noticed that the quality of the app is not the same. Music skips or automatically stops playing during the middle of a song. Unlike the great quality I received on my iPhone. Which it's quite embarrassing when I'm riding in my car with lady friends. I have updated the app and my android is 2 weeks old with updated software. I don't want to leave Spotify. But, I may have to.

I'm currently using the student plan for Spotify and I think it's good for that price. I like the "functions" that come with the paid version, but I don't feel like it's right to practically brick the app if you're using thr free mobile version. Be warned if you plan to use the free version, as you'll get three to four ads every three songs, where the ads are almost twice as loud as the music

Was great until their June 1 update. Now, there are too many ads and too many songs that I didn't add but are based off of what I listen to. I'm fine with the ads but if I want a song added to a playlist I will add it myself and not have forcefully added by a bot. Some would say just to skip it, you're right, until you run out of skips. Then there is a constant pop up promoting Spotify premium. So you are now stuck listening to songs that you didn't add (and probably dislike).

Update: I'm back!!! It seems all the cool podcasts I love aren't available anywhere else or stops right in the middle of an episode, so here we are. I hope things are better with Spotify. Still like the ability to personalize my profile rather than just be a boring series of numbers (I am not a number, lol). I've found great new music from bands and artists I've discovered, especially Japanese metal.

Skips songs on its own. Even after restarting app. Extremely annoying and inconvenient. However. I enjoy the ability to play ONLY my playlists...I don't know how other apps are these days as I've used Spotify for years now, but, I remember wanting to hear only certain artists songs on pandora and it would play other "similar" artist on that station..hated that. Again unknown if that app still does that, don't care. Spotify just needs to fix the skipping glitch and I'll give 5 stars.

I use Spotify aton but the new update today is weird. I can no longer pick my song I want from my playlist, and I can't skip more than 6 times in an hour. Sometimes I listen with my family and a song with bad words will come on so I always skip. It's also strange when a new song comes on and I can't exit out of it, or replay my playlist. Can you please just go back... like take away everything you did for the update? Other than that I find no problem and use it alot. This update is useless.

Loved this app for years and have used it since 2015. However, just so happens that the ONE THING I use to make sure I'm putting the right song into a playlist has been removed and supposedly there's no plans to replace it! Thinking about deleting altogether due to the removal of song previews. Sorry Spotify, but this feels like you're just trying to force money out of people to get more premiums bought. Horrid.

I wish Spotify brought back the listen button, whenever I try to add songs to playlist I can't listen to a short snippet of that song. Another things is the constant nofication of Bluetooth output. Almost everytime I open the app it ask me to allow Bluetooth when I did so. All of this and the constant ads makes me want to go to another site.

It has been my go to music app for years and I've tried many. I love all the playlists and suggestions using your music tastes Spotify creates/provides. It's legit, I love it plain and simple. I wish they'd have a few more playlists though and the music would play louder and the sound quality was even further improved. But it's still the best music app out there, especially if you want to discover new bands and songs. 5 Stars for sure! I highly recommend you give it a shot if you never have...

Unless you pay for it, it's terrible. You can't even listen to select song you want to hear without listening to a ton of songs before. YouTube is easier, simpler, and it has a wider variety of music. YouTube is just overall just a better platform than Spotify. Its ads are even shorter and there's less of them. On Spotify I've deadass gotten the same ad 4 times in a row

Great app, but they make it very, very difficult to make any sort of change to your account. Logging in, changing my premium plan, adding a family member to a family plan--all things that have no easy way to accomplish, not even having the option within the app itself. Instead you have to go onto their website which is just about as straightforward. So long as you never have to do anything with your account, Spotify is awesome. But the frustration quickly brings a 5 star app to 2.

Fantastic app for listening to music and podcasts. My only complaint is that my downloaded podcasts don't show up offline. It may be because I don't have Premium, but the company SAYS I should be able to download and play them offline for free. Not that I'm ever offline. Dropped a second star for the update that removed song snippets. It was incredibly helpful to be able to play a few seconds of a song before adding it to a playlist. I'll bump it back up to four stars if that feature comes back

Your app has gotten worse and worse. I had to listen to 15 advertisements one after another. They aren't even interesting at all. I used to like Spotify but when I can only listen to two songs before it forces an advertisement then it's time to switch. And don't give me you usual sorry response. It's time for me to go elsewhere. Spotify is too outdated now.

App won't load downloaded music without internet connection. Queue system is designed poorly. My upcoming music is a "playlist" with a "queue" nested in it? So I add a song to play next (starting a queue) but once the song is over it disappears. If I hit back it plays the song from before the one I added specifically. Garbage.

Spotify has a huge library and has good recommendations. But, it seems to randomly decide to forget any downloaded music, and redownloads my entire 50GB library, which has already killed 1 SD card. Now, a new update made it log out when opening the app without internet, negating the reason for downloading entirely. The app continues getting buggier without fixes. I'm probably going elsewhere, and I'd recommend others do the same.

This is a really good app to use and to utilize as well!!!! You simply 👂 to the music you've "liked", all the while your own playlist is created off the songs you enjoyed!!!!!! Songs I'll hv forgotten about will creep on in to 🎶🎵 being played!!!! So like if you can help it, simply 👂 and try not to skip around as much, it's at this time that a song you'd forgotten about will have came on and took you right back to that spot in time, that place in time!!!!

Spotify app is completely broken on android, playlists stop playing and switch to a radio station at random times and the control bar for music disappears after not using the app for a few minutes. On top of that spotify refuses to acknowledge these problems even exist. Been a premium user for 5 years now but I will be moving to apple music as spotify clealrly does not care about the experience of their users.

I think the app is overall good to use with the amount of playlists they have and it is very user friendly. But my main thing is I mainly listen to music but have SOOOOO many podcasts popping up instead. I listen to a few podcasts and way more music but see more podcasts. If they could separate them that would be way better. Other than that it's not to bad.

I like spotify as a service but the app has been really frustrating for a while now. I wear a lot of PPE for work and I used to be able to load up the queue with stuff and not worry about it for a couple hours. Now it's pointless. The app just forgets things immediately and worse it insists on playing stuff I've just listened to! So frustrating that after at least 5 years I might just switch to a different music service.

First off I watch a video to get 30 minutes ad free....more like 12 minutes. I have never had it come close to 30 minutes ad free. Second...the music I listen to stops for no reason. I have to start songs over constantly. Third...I have had the app shut down completely and kick me out of it a few times. Lastly...why can't I skip more songs? That's the most annoying thing of it all! I love listening to the same ad 3 times in a row! It's so cool to hear how much you guys love to suck YouTube's coc

I keep trying to listen to music. So basically I pick a song and it automatically just switches to a random song. This is pretty annoying to me and I'm getting really upset and it is freaking me out how I can't just pick one song. And many ads pop up before I even get the chance to pick one. And The interrupted listening isn't even close to 30 Minutes and still annoys me. I barely use this app anymore and I need Spotify to fix this. Until then, 3 stars for Spotify.

For the last week or two, I can't play anything on Spotify. All of my playlists are either empty or have like 2 songs on them. But when I try to play a song it just stops before it even plays anything. Even official Spotify playlists are empty. Edited: There's been 2 updates this week and I still can't listen to any music. I pay for this and I can't use it. The website works but I can't download a playlist there so I have to use my mobile data.

Great... at first But they've made it too easy to like and unlike songs, the icon even appears on my phone's widget. I can accidentally delete songs off of my library while my phone is just in my pocket now! Absolutely destroying my library and deleting tonnes of songs. You can't even search "your library" for specific songs anymore, only artists. I'll be switching to YouTube music. Whoever is in charge of app layout should be fired immediately.

I won't lie, Spotify is a really good music app.. But that's only if you become a premium listener. It's really stupid to me that I have to pay just to hear the song I want when I want and to stop songs from shuffling into my playlists. And we can't play a playlist normally without shuffle. Why should I have to pay for functions that every music app should automatically allow you to use for free? Really frustrating.

This app is nice with how they recommend songs, but unless you have premium you can't skip any of the songs which is very stupid. It doesn't allow you to listen to a specific song and when you pick a Playlist it will play songs that aren't even in it. Sometimes the songs it plays for you aren't even in the same language. Hearing lots of good things about this app I was disappointed

Good app if it decides to work, but usually it stops randomly, doesn't allow me to control my music properly, or just doesent load stuff I have downloaded. My main issue is it will show nothing playing, and it will still play music, but I cant pause, skip, shuffle etc. The only way to turn it off at this point is to close the app out

I mainly just use the app for podcasts. I don't know why I have to pay for premium just to be able to pick the songs I want to listen to. Even my favorites playlist doesn't play my favorited songs, just their playlist of similar songs. And you can only skip 6 songs an hour. Plus there will be a glitchy add everytime you skip. I love the podcasts and the option to listen to music while I do something else on my phone, but I would love to be able to choose the songs instead of suggested songs.

App does not function properly, and is nowhere near complete. For instance, when I was on iOS, I was able to swipe on the player to bring it down, such a gesture control does not exist in Android, as far as I can tell. Let's also not forget the app REFUSES to keep playing similar music after my song ends, with the option enabled. Also I DONT CARE ABOUT PODCASTS. Ads were a joke without prem too. Update: about a year later, app still does not function properly. Even after reinstall.

If you have a free account don't even bother downloading the app. You can't choose what songs you want to play, you can only shuffle. On top of this, the app forces you to listen to "suggested songs" and will not allow you to continue to listen to the music actually in your playlist. A free account works perfectly on the web browser, but the app is actual garbage.

Update- love spotify in general but the app is super glitchy on phone and computer. It constantly turns off or doesn't show that music is on when it's playing Still true- Friends told me about this for a long time before I actually downloaded it. Now I can't believe I waited so long because the more you use Spotify the more it learns about your interests. I've made many Playlist and like many genres of music, podcasts and even books! So if you like exploring music this is super user friendly!

I can't afford premium, so i expect there to be ads. But 10 in a row during a mental breakdown when i need comfort music is infuriating. And there used to be a thing with "watch this ad and there will be 30 mins of uninterrupted listening" which used to pop up at least once a day. I haven't gotten one of those in months. It feels like I'm listening to more ads than music, which is not what I want from a music app.

I like this app, I can use it whenever I need music, but with every update, I get a step closer to uninstalling this app, I made a Playlist, and everything I try to go on there, it plays a song that isn't even on my play list, and I wish I could block singers from coming onto my list for recommended for you, because some musical artists I think sound like trash, and I can't do anything about it.

I've had Spotify now for a better part of a year. I am highly dissatisfied in how many bugs and issues this app has. Currently the is a bug to where they give you preselected groups of music from your liked music. While it might only play one or two of the songs from the preselected group and then jump right back into playing in order from your liked songs. Example you might have Rock selected and then the next song in your liked songs is rap. It will play the rap song.

I love this app. As somebody who spends a lot of time listening to music it's great. I do have a couple of complaints though. They took away the separate tab for podcasts, which is annoying, and makes the library feel cluttered and disorganized. Also wish you could see how many songs are in a playlist.

Music is good. The shifting "shelves" of topics constantly changing is annoying. Wanted to listen to some new albums in the "New albums for you" section, the section disappeared after only selecting one. Display all the types of shelves and let the user customize their position in settings and it would be better.

Coming from an amazon music sub I am very impressed. The ultrahd in amazon music IS of higher quality, but their app is always crashing so I switched to spotify and will never go back. Spotify app stability has been 99 percent uncrashable so far. Music library is much larger, I do a lot of streaming at work so I need to be able to let it play for long periods without switching albums or playlists. As long as audio quality remains high and the app is stable I will be on nothing but spotify.

Spotify itself is great. I can pick my own songs, rewind/skip, and do all the basic things of a music streaming service. The app ruins it all. First of all, if you choose a song you want, it "shuffles" it. What that means is it plays different songs than the one you specifically chose. You have to use up all your skips to get the actual song (which it doesn't let you add to playlists). Second, no FF/RWing. Overall, it's a terrible experience and I am moving to Tidal.

Horrible app for music, clearly do not like customers. If I'm going to use a free app and listen to ads then I at least want to listen to what I want, because I picked an artist or an album. I don't want to be forced to listen to what somebody else's computer might think is related when really it's not related AT ALL. This is a horrible data science experiment gone terribly wrong. Clearly there was no testing done. On the other hand this is a perfect example of why the term AI overused.

Yesterday I made a new playlist which consisted music such as mitski, etc. I go down to see more songs recommended for me today, and it is music that are in a different language from another country. I closed the app but its still there. Created a new playlist and all, it's weird and a little creepy.

i love spotify. yeah, it feels like you spend more time listening to ads than music but whatever. it's fun to use and easy to maneuver. but um. the snippet feature when adding songs to playlists got removed? why was that even an idea. having the snippets is the way i, and many others, found new songs and got reminded of others to put in our playlists. it was an important feature and i don't get why it would be removed. unless it gets brought back, this is staying at three stars.

For the last 2 updates it keeps replaying the same 5 songs on a playlist. Even with all songs downloaded, it'll play correctly at first, then suddenly only play 5 or 6 songs. It does this same error on all playlists. This is incredibly annoying, especially if I'm driving and can't pull my phone out to re-start the app and playlist so it'll play all songs again.

My app hasn't worked since the last update. It's not pulling up my personal playlists or the ones already on spotify by other users. No matter what I search it shows it's an empty playlist and my username shows as random numbers and letters instead of my nickname I set. If I log in on a web browser all of my stuff is still there though. They were sure quick to take my monthly subscription payment but not to fix whatever this is. Love paying for something that doesn't work at all.

Skipping, pausing, terrible playback experience. Spotify refuses to accept that there are major issues with their playback system at least on the Android app. Myself and several friends have random pauses, skips, and other bugs regularly during playback. It has gone on for at least a month. When I contacted Spotify they brushed it off and told me it wasn't an issue.

I never had a problem with the app. You can find lots of different music and podcasts to listen to and the app can run in the background as long as you don't dismiss it. If you don't get premium you do have ads around every 30 minutes but they are not that long. Unfortunately though you have to have premium to listen offline.

I've changed my review because Spotify used to be a great app for me but now it's turned out to be not that great. So I go into my favorites y'know and I press shuffle play but then it just keeps on playing the song I listened to last time. When I try to play my actual songs it just plays a little bit of it and then it stops and I have to go to the actual album to play it. Now when I first got the app there was no adds and I didn't have premium and now there is? Spotify please fix this!

When the app works, it's fantastic! For over two months I have only been able to listen to the app for a few hours before it will no longer pause, skip, show the correct information for what is playing, etc. I usually have to force stop the app and open it again or have to restart my phone completely. I'm a monthly subscriber and have been for over two years. I don't understand why this app can be so great one day then be complete trash for months after an update.

The app is amazing. The selection is broad, and their recommendations are on point. I dont use premium, but ads aren't too problematic. The only problem is that the app absorbs storage. I'm not sure why, because I use wifi and clear the cache, but the app still takes up over a GB of storage. It's a minimal annoyance, but inconvenient nevertheless. Overall, I would reccomend it.

This was an amazing app. It's still great for standard stuff but the thing I love most only works part of the time. And that is frustrating. Trying to get a group session started is almost impossible and tonight it is, it will not load no matter how many times we uninstall and reinstall. The group session bugs need to be fixed.

None of my podcasts are playing at all, my songs keep pausing at random times and then starting again. I have spotify premium, and even my downloaded songs/podcasts aren't working properly. It's not something wrong on my end because I've done everything I can think of to fix the problem. I also looked up what might be wrong and apparently other people are having the exact same problem. Spotify better fix this, I don't want to have to switch music apps but I will if this continues.

This app is STILL barely functional and buggy as hell. It just stops playing for no reason. Starts podcasts over randomly. App and widget are glitchy as hell, on a flagship android phone. Will keep playing even after the app is closed. The widget will show the audio is not playing when it is. Will show the wrong podcast playing when something else is playing. Ads will play over and over! Stunning that they havent fixed it yet. It keeps getting worse! Try Pandora or YouTube music instead!

Podcasts are not being played, all other music works. Though some podcasts have no playable episodes, and some podcasts are working fine, and some podcasts have episodes that are playable and some that aren't. There is no rhyme or reason to the episodes that are unplayable and the ones that are. Spotify was working fine until the latest update, which may the cause of the issue. please fix ASAP as the UUES (Unpredictable Unplayble Episode Syndrome) is affecting a few of my favorite shows.

I can use Spotify and hear other devices while controlling it with my phone. The internal player is just broken. YES, I have logged in/out uninstalled/reinstalled. Same result. I'm a millennial who used to love Spotify, and still do (when used at home). But in my car, the song audio changes but the name on the screen does not. Several other people have tried to connect their Spotify and it works with Pandora, so it's definitely a Spotify problem solely on my phone but when i contacted customer service, all they could tell me was something you would tell a boomer (uninstall and reinstall the app etc, all stuff I had already tried) so basically I'm stuck with this

3 years later and millions of songs listened to! Even though I don't have Spotify premium it's still amazing!!!!! Best music app out there! The only thing I dont like is when I'm scrolling thru songs and it'll give me ads and say 'enjoy the next 30 minutes of ad free music', I'll scroll about 2-4 songs and it gives me like 4 ads in a row :( I fall asleep to Spotify but sometimes the continuous adds wake me up.

Pretty much non-functional now. Won't download songs, crashes, requires many restarts to even begin playback, will randomly stop playback during songs, will skip playlists at random, plays ads even when paying for premium (supposedly ad-free - lies), etc. It's sad - used to be a great music streaming app, but it appears they've forgotten their main purpose - to play music.

Revert to an older version or fix your app!!! It is insane that your app has been broken for months. I've read articles how the now playing functions disappear so I know it's not just me. This should be something that could be fixed in a day once you were aware of the issue, and if you can't fix it, then revert to the last working version until you have the problem solved. It is beyond comprehension that I have to force close the app 5 times a day because I can't rewind or pause what's playing.

Currently 17, I have been using Spotify for the past 2 years in high school and it's helped me get through some difficult moments specially with the pandemic. The subscription prices are "ok" but they kinda pay for themselves if you use the app alot. If I could ask for one thing to be added add more subscription options so like no ads offline but you can't freely skip is one I would probably buy if it lowers the price slightly.

It's really good, the ads do get annoying but they made the ads way less common making me able to listen to 10-15 songs till an ad happens, but to listen offline you need to pay and download the songs which sucks as I like listening offline when I wanna play games with ads off. But apart from that it's one of the best music apps I have ever used, and the updates make it better every time. But one thing that bugs me is they don't let you preview songs before adding it to your Playlist anymore.

Love using Spotify, I do wish however they would consider adding an audio boost option for those of us with hearing loss. I'm HOH, and my old mp3 files from 2010 that still exist on my phone today will play with a very noticeable increase in volume versus streaming music from spotify. It almost sounds lightly muted when using headphones. That is my one and only gripe about this app, and I hope they attempt to accommodate this demographic in the future.

Pretty good, large library, app can be a little glitchy. Edit- Changed to two star. Glitches are getting worse. I have to close and reopen the app multiple times a day. Adds are apparently allowed in podcasts because my premium subscription only covers add free music. Downloaded music is only accessible with internet. Why have a download feature that requires internet to access, that defeats the purpose of downloading it. I miss google music :(

Good app but it has the worst feature. I always plays suggested songs, there is a setting that is supposed to turn It off but it doesn't. I happens when you are trying to listen to song that is not in you playlist and it sucks. If you don't have premium you can't get passed it because it requires skips to get passed it and if you run out of skips you can't do anything. I hope Spotify will listen to there customers and not think about greed and money.

It is super annoying when you get a notification of a recommended album, you tap on it to listen and it plays one song from that album and then the very next song is from something else. Example...Hans Zimmer Top Gun album/playlist notification came up. It played one song from Top Gun, then jumped to Kung Fu Panda. If an album or playlist is recommended and selected, then it should at least play only songs on that list first, then transition to other related material. Going back to Pandora!

Compared to the desktop version, the mobile app is really terrible! It's lacking important features that the desktop version already has. One of those missing features is the ability to reorder the songs in your playlists. And with the new update you have to push the "and more" button to see all the songs in it, and when you do that and click on one of the songs it doesn't play the whole song, just the short preview of it! Make the trashy mobile app function more like the desktop version!

I would give 5 starts for GUI and selection of music and podcasts. But I am so tired of having to uninstall and reinstall every day to get the player to work correctly again. The currently playing track controls keep disappearing even though I can still hear it. It also pauses in the middle of a song or a show then when I start again it starts from the beginning. I have already logged out/signed in, updated the app, reset my password, uninstalled and installed it and nothing is working. Like it is saying my connection is wrong and it is saying that playlists have no songs. I am very frustrated. The best out there in terms of music collection. But the way they push free users to buy premium, is absolutely abusive ! Simple ability to play a song from your liked song list, or playing a single song from your playlist is not possible !!! You have to shuffle play the whole list and you can not even go back to previous song of skip the song (within a limit) if you are a free user ! That's just wrong ! It works great 99 percent of the time, but it keeps moving my downloads back to internal storage when I set it up to download to the SD card. When I change the storage location back to the SD card, it transfers all the songs and then crashes and I have to uninstall/reinstall it. I don't know why this keeps happening, please fix it.

This is one of the worst apps I am forced to use. I loved Spotify and was happy to pay the $12 a month but for that I feel like I should get an app that works. An app that opens and doesn't freeze every 5 seconds when it does open. It's been months now and Spotify does this thing where it doesn't show It's playing at least twice a day and the only way to fix it is to restart my phone. You should expect to lose a lot of customers over this.

This app is horrible. You can't alwayd select individual songs to add to your albums, apparently that feature only exists on the desktop feature. When making a playlist, I can't select a specific song to start with, I HAVE to listen to it randomized. Also, the app just randomly adds songs to my playlists without my permission. I have been a premium Spotify member just over 10 years now. Any time prior to the last couple months Spotify was a 5 star app any day. But since the turn of the new year the app has become almost unusable. At times it can take up to 10 minutes to load a downloaded Playlist. Search results wont load. Constant connectivity issues, while on data and wifi, the list goes on. At the moment I do not recommend anyone waste money on this app. Hopefully something changes soon, or I will be switching apps

I only started using Spotify like last week because this is the first year they have a lot of obscure Japanese artists (Vocaloid, Touhou, etc). It's still not a huge selection but it's worth it because of how well Spotify curates and recommends things. Radio is MUCH smarter than YouTube or Apple. The main problem is the Wear OS app is very slow. I want to be able to Like songs from my watch without pulling out my phone, but it seems to sync over the Internet instead of being a Bluetooth remote.

Spotify provides great new music based on listening habits and everything you need to create the best playlists. However, in roughky the last 4 months, it consistently crashes and glitches when attempting to play anything and the playback menu conveniently disappears making it even more frustrating to control the music or podcast attempting to play. This app made me so mad. One day I opened the app to listen to some nice music and then I was logged out. I was like weird. So then I try logging back in and then my login dosent even work. I had the email and password correct and it just was not working. So then I thought maybe the servers are down. So I waited till tommorow and the next day and tried logging back in multiple times and it still didn't work. I had to create a whole new account and even lost my premium. Good job spotify.

Premium subscriber for many years, and I'm troubled by the increasing instability and new bugs. What worked perfectly for years now fails constantly even on completely different devices. For example, player control will disappear leaving you unable to control playback, forcing you to stop app, restart to restore control. And suggested music is far inferior to Pandora's genome. Seems that Spotify favors music that favors their own preferences than yours.

I've been a paid subscriber for many years, something isn't right these days. For some reason there are times that Spotify just will not open. It will constantly say there are too many devices with offline music and it's just not working correctly anymore. It used to be great until earlier this year. I could put up with some quirkiness, but it's pretty much useless on most of the phones I have. I hope they fix it.

I like this app in general, it's just that after the trial, if you aren't planning to spend any money, music gets really hard to play, like I would choose a song and it will play a completely different song that I've never wven heard of. I don't care if there's a trial or not, it just bothers me that I can't play music normally anymore. It's also annoying that I have to constantly keep my device on to listen to anything and I literally can't even edit my own playlists.

The reason is your only allowed to skip 6 songs and if you want to listen to a certain song you cannot you have to listen to the album of mixed that they choose for you ...so unless this changes I will be changing service. I've done all the available troubleshooting to no avail. While it works on my PC, I never use it there. So I'll be canceling b/c no one wants to pay money for something they can't even use. I'd rather listen to the radio. The ads have just become unbearable on the free service. I understand there are costs but at this point the level of advertising is beyond covering costs but a huge money grab and will ultimately drive everyone away. We can only handle so much. Generally great app for music streaming, but some recent update has screwed with the decades old control format of "Back, Pause/Play, Forward" in favor of "Pause/Play, Back, Forward". The controls are also now all squished on the left side of the control menu making it more annoying to hit them with just your thumb.

It used to be good, until I chose not to take the 3 month free trial then that's when the stupidity came in. I could no longer see any playlist, I had to click it and listen to only previews. That's retarded. When the free trial was still available, I never got an ad between my music, but now I do all the time. Number 3 is that I am trying to make a new playlist, and I add a song, you add 10 more. I want my music not yours.

Spotify used to be so good, but they keep making changes, like adding features and taking them away right after I adjust to them. The group session is handled worse than before, swiping no longer adds to queue, and I have to do a lot of work to view songs by artists instead of listing all artists in my liked songs like before. Great music options, great audio quality (depending on output device but still), over all really good. Except for one thing... The fuction of using the phone as a controller for laptop, consoles, tvs, etc. Is absolutley horrible. I play a lot of video games on my computer so it being implemented so horribly affects me greatly since I can't always tab out to change songs. Some frequent problems are: songs not skipping, songs not playing, and the wrong song being displayed. If it worked solid 4/5.

I've contacted support and got no where except the generic "restart your phone" going to un instal and re instal to see if this helps but honestly have little hope. If I wanna shuffle bc I'm not feeling a song it won't let me. The only option is pause. I'm about to switch to something else. I love my music to much to pay for this many issues. I deleted my previous review because I assumed that the problem was user error on my part. I cannot rewind my podcasts on the phone because the screen that allows me to move the progression slider never pops up and I don't know how to make it come up manually, regardless of how many times I open or close the app, or access the podcast or even the specific episode I'm watching. How is anyone supposed to even understand Joe Rogan's BS, if you can't go back and relisten to comprehend?

As an end user, I want my music player to play albums in their specified order regardless of whether I was on shuffle on a playlist. Shuffle should be the exception, not the default for anything I am listening to, album or playlist. Additionally, my ability to find a shuffle or other playback options shouldn't differ depending on what music element (playlist v album) I'm listening to.

Awful, I bought your premium and spotify only works on my computer and playstation, but not on my phone where I need it the most, when I open it on my phone and look at albums or my liked songs everything is empty, and there's a try again button, when I press it nothing happens. All my music is missing and everything I've searched there's not a single playlist that works its infuriating to me to have been a spotify user for years and there's nothing online to fox it or any customer service.

This is the only streaming app I use but recently it has started to crash too frequently to count. I can't get through a podcast episode without it crashing at least once. It's insane!!! Please fix whatever the issue is or I'll have to look for another app.

For the past month, none of my playlists will load. I updated the app, uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted my phone, all to no avail. I've done pretty much all I can think of doing to fix this problem, and nothing has worked. From the other reviews, this is obviously commonplace, therefore it's an issue on Spotify's end, not the customer's. Please fix this app! I've loved using Spotify for the past 2 years, but these new glitches have me considering taking my business elsewhere.

The User Interface has been needlessly updated multiple times in the past 6 months to a year. Now the play button is all the way to the left with the skip buttons not even close to the middle. It looks horrible! Put it back in the middle where it belongs. I also have a lot of issues where spotify has no connection despite being on wifi or data, and every other app runs perfectly fine.

Spotify is my "GoTo" music app!!!! I don't pay for the premium, I know! Having ads/commercials every so often is OK by me! I do, however, feel leary about some of the security of the app and how it seems to have different music for 'suggestions' that are NOT relevant to me in anyway?? Sometimes, it even shows I've listened/watched things I haven't! With that being said, customer support could step up their game a smidge if possible for attending to inquires when emailed! Overall, 💕it!

This app used to be great but now I can't use it no matter what I do. One day it was fine the next it would crash every time I tried to open, then I updated the app when I could and now every Playlist, mine and the Spotify made ones, all say empty. No matter what I do I cannot listen to anything or see any music at all. Very disappointing.

Great selection of music and podcasts. I like the intuitive nature of the playlists where Spotify will suggest similar songs to what you have added, plus their curated playlists based on your likes. However, the app is Hella frustrating at times. My version is up to date but app will sometimes require me to shut it down and restart it several times before I can use it and control it. Sometimes the music/podcast will play without having the ability to pause/skip/play. Love it, but frustrating

Awful. I switched to the USA version of the app and it says to buy premium to skip as many songs you want to.(There are many more problems with the app. I mentioned this problem only) That clearly doesn't make any sense. Spotify was better back in the day but now it's trash. Rather than waiting for a new update where they fix all of this get a better app.

This app is absolute garbage for listening to podcasts. When you are listening to a podcast is plays ads. Which I am fine with it's got to make money. What I am not fine with is when the ads gets done it skips 40 ish second or just skips the rest of the podcast entirely. I tried clearing cache, uninstalling, restarting phone, log out then in nothing works.

After using this app for many years this last update has caused an issue. I love listening to music while walking to work and even sleeping. When ever i turn my phone screen off Spotify will glitch and pause the song in the middle of it and then unpuase and its certainly annoying when im trying to relax. I might cancel my subscription and go to a different music app😕 as much as i dont want to this is just getting so frustrating

They really ought to update their UI. It's super outdated, not a lot of customization options for editing/sorting your playlists, audio quality can vary drastically sometimes. Other than that, the app is alright. It performs well for the most part.

Overall, it is a good app. I do not use any other music app. However, some of the updates will mess up the app. Thankfully I was able to resolve to problem with the help from others that had a similar experience of music and playlist not displaying.

I've been using Spotify for years. Only a few bugs here and there, but they're usually quick to update. I will say, lately, I've been having issues with the auto update. There's also this weird problem where the app will just start playing music even if NOTHING is open. It's strange and I'm not sure why it keeps happening, but it's not just me. Spotify, could you please try and fix this? You guys would be 5 star, but that bug has been getting annoying 😓

I have had Spotify premium for years now, but recently the app has been breaking on my PC and my phone. It's not a one time occurrence, updates don't solve anything and it results in a lot of frustration. I appreciate the song variety, and the offline features but I don't think I can justify giving a company 10 dollars for something that just stops working on a regular basis. It is unfortunate as I have stored thousands of songs on my playlist, but I think this is the last straw.

Frequent crashes are driving me insane, had a 5 star review but I had to change it because of my issues. The app has been glitching, where it will freeze up and I can't control anything. A song will skip and unpause, then pause, rewind, pause again and so fourth. Closing the app DOESNT help and it starts conflicting with other apps audio as well. You can't physically stop it when the app does this, you have to wait till the app completely crashes before trying to re-open it.

Been using spotify premium for a couple years now, and started the family plan last year, it's been great. But the last 3-4 months I've been having my songs pause randomly throughout playing, and I've tried everything. I've downloaded the songs, played them over mobile data and wifi, turned down quality of songs, cleared cashe, re-download the app, restarting my phone. I want to stay a spotify customer, bur I can't if this keeps happening. Please help, please fix.

I just have one problem with this app otherwise it's all good. The problem is that I put recive notifications and autoplay on one of my podcasts. And now even after stopping notifications, deleting the app and adding it again and again, still continues to auto play even after trying to fix so that it will no longer auto play. Fix this please. Started off well and got premium. New update makes the screen go black when in Google maps which is really dangerous considering it happens when driving. After the new update, they took the "enhance" button away from the liked songs Playlist which is 85% of the reason I started using the app. To add insult to injury, I've emailed support and it's obvious they don't understand what I'm trying to tell them in the first place.

Great content great features learning listening preference is very good. what else can one say. Except Android version falls on its face using "add local files". There is no way to specify which folder. So it adds everything. Voice messages, recorded notes. Ringtones , notifications, themes from other apps. Makes the option useless. However the PC version is well done. Maybe just a smarter team of developers. Hope the PC team will offer lessons to android team. All it needs is 1 folder.

Trash. Podcasts randomly change from one to another. I'll have stuff playing over bluetooth and it won't let me change songs, pause or play. It doesn't show what I'm listening to in the "now playing" section. It doesn't buffer anything far enough to handle even the slightest loss in service. I can't shut video off for podcasts.... I'd hate to leave and lose rogan but if the experience sucks what's the point. Joe if you read this, please leave Spotify so I can too. Not worth the money.

Something happened recently where I would play a song from a one of my playlists on Spotify then it would loop the same 3 songs over and over, instead of the just playing the entire playlist. I discovered when I play a playlist it adds the current song and the remainder of the playlist to the queue but not always. Don't know why a playlist needs to be added to a queue it's already a queue/list, seems redundant. I do see the need but I would like an option to turn off the queue feature.

Let me preface by saying I just recently switched back to an android after having an iPhone for 2 years. I have never had my spotify experience be like this. It freezes, takes forever to load and play music, most of the time it will not shuffle my music or it won't play off of my playlist. I pay for premium on a monthly basis so I can pick and choose what I want to listen to specifically. Not to have a buggy app that won't work 90% of the time. I'm very disappointed with the new recent issues.

The app has had way too many issues recently. Just plays the same 20 or 30 songs in a loop instead of the whole playlist. I've had to force stop spotify just play my songs somedays, and I love listening to music while reading comics or playing mobile games. But now the songs will stop randomly, not pause, completely stop. It gets on my nerves to restart songs and especially I'd the song was on a good part. At this point I wonder if I'm paying for problems instead of a music app.

Spotify is a great way to listen to music although the recommendations are aren't always great. I often listen to music that I don't want influencing the recommendations since they don't always capture the feeling or specific sounds that I like. I wish there was a way to prevent those songs from being used in recommendations even without having to use private mode. It would also be nice if there was more control over the songs added to the Blend playlist besides listening and hoping songs get added to replace other songs I don't want in there. Spotify connect is and the in app notifications from connect is annoying since I always accidentally press connect to TV or google mini. More ways to edit and filter playlists would be nice like the ability to filter playlists based on loved tracks, time (like on desktop) and statistics like most/least played track and artist. Also, being able to mark each song by the mood/feeling that associate it with would be great for new song recommendations and filtering.

Using this app for years but for the past 2-3 months is been glitching & freezing a lot. I'll be listening to music & suddenly it stops for no reason, i open my phone & the app is closed. Also when i connect to bluetooth it used to start playing music right away but doesnt do this now, i go to open the app & it plays music for a second then turns it off like i was never playing music. So many bugs, fix them.

It's annoying have to pay 10 a month just to listen to music and be limited on how many times you can skip to the next song or skip back to the previous song, if you stil have to listen to Ads you should Not be limited in how many timesyou can skip forward or back in a play list. Also the watch App has no way to fast forward or rewind tracks. The Free App that comes with the Galaxy Watches allows you to fast forward and rewind and skip forward and back in albums and play lists.

Ever since the update a month or so back the offline feature to save Playlist does not work. When you click into the downloaded Playlist it's just a blackscreen. Once you get data again it will work but why would I need to preload my Playlist if it's already downloaded. The new changes have also introduced multiple ui bugs without any extra functionality.

While I hear the premium version is good, the free version is really buggy for music. Specifically regarding the ads they use to support it. I've been using this on and off for years and I always have to stop after a few weeks, because of a bug that causes an advertisement to play on loop until the next update(which only stops the problem for roughly 2 weeks before it starts again). I've also reduced its score because of how poorly it compensates creators

Too many bugs & things that will drive you crazy! Been using this app for many years because it is so integrated into life, but it's terrible. Continuously has issues connecting to devices properly. Constantly has issues playing your playlists, especially liked songs. It will always just start playing once your phone connects to your vehicle regardless if you want it to or not, no way to shut that off. Never any info online on how to fix issues except telling you to update or reinstall app.

Used to be my go to music app. Most of the time I try to play music, I'll click a song and it'll play but will not show me the header of the song so I have no way to pause rewind or any other controls to the song. I have to either close the app or turn the volume complete off for the music to "stop" Extremely frustrating during podcasts because I'm constantly missing parts of it because I can't pause it. If this gets fixed I'll use spotify more but until then I'll live with ads on YouTube.

Every single time I use spotify (which is every day) It glitches one way or another. Switches to something different in the middle of a podcast episode, gets stuck on loading screen until i restart the app a couple times, says I have no internet connection when I do, etc. I am so tired of paying for this service when it is consistently terrible and never seems to improve. I'm going to have to find a different music platform if it stays this way much longer.

I do not want podcasts!!! allow me to remove them from my home page on the app. I listened to a few and that is all the suggestions it is giving me. This app is for music! Please let me hide them! Spotify is ok. Their random songs are not as good as Pandora's radio stations. I also do not like that Joe Rogan is so prominently featured. They could have spent that money for more features. All in all, it is just ok, when compared to their competition. Try the other services and see for yourself.

With latest update the shuffle button doesn't technically shuffle. It is either on or off. I could hit the shuffle button to mix it up when the mix repeats the same songs over and over. Still trying to figure out why Spotify stops multiple time during the night. Made all the adjustments I can find in my settings and it still stops.

I mainly listen to podcasts. When I try to resume where I left off, the podcast will skip to the end and be marked as played. Very annoying as I have to manually figure out where I left off and it will do the same thing if I resume. Usually happens after an advertisement, which now happens when resuming. Gotta maximize that cash flow over user experience, eh?

I'm starting to question the sanity behind paying for a music/podcast service that won't let you play a podcast or even 1 song without shutting off. If you get annoyed easily, can't constantly hit a play button, or want to listen to a full song without interruption, find a different app to listen to. I want to toss my phone out of the window multiple times a day because of this app.

I have payed for spotify premium for several years, but I can no longer tolerate the absurd amount of bugs that fill the app. A few examples: awful shuffle algos that don't play a huge chunk of my library, playlists being created then completely disappearing, frequently needing to restart the app to get it to work properly, and now, it doesn't work at all. The app won't let me play any music or podcasts, and none of saved content is showing up whatsoever. I do not recommend paying for this.

It's good but it's been bugging out the last few months. I'll have signal and it'll take a few minutes for a song to play; I'll close the app and open it a few hours later to my queue list being reshuffled, down to 2 songs left or just won't play so I'll have to force close and reopen. Doesn't play every song in order and jump off "main list" to a "based off" list.

While the UI is disappointing, it's the strange behavior of the ad breaks that make this app truly infuriating. I'll be listening to a downloaded podcast in an area with poor or no internet connectivity, and without fail, the playback fails to resume at a commercial break. But what makes the behavior truly bizarre is that the app will forget my progress in my current podcast, and pull up another podcast at random. Poor form, Spotify.

The app started out great! But now it won't play or even load my page. Anything I have downloaded won't play anymore without having a clear connection to data or WIFI. It's disappointing that it won't let me play anything offline anymore even though I pay premium. (Edit: reinstalling the app didn't help with any of these issues.)

5/20 - This new update still hasn't fixed problems!!! 5/1 - New update has bugs and crashes!!!! I had to change my 5 star review, hopefully this will be fixed soon. I've used Spotify for 10 years now and have never had issues like this before. The display at the bottom that shows the current song played in the app with the ability to pause, FF & Rewind disappears all the time. Listening to songs and mostly podcasts the song just stops playing which is super frustrating. PLEASE FIX!

Great and reliable sound engine. The functionality is very important to note being user friendly. Downfalls, asking for a specific track lends itself to push back. ie I'd you ask for a track.. the development is that the app God assumes that you are willing to wait for your track, lol nooo no.. so sniping bandwidth dedicated time is the goal for Spotify. Which is not a problem. However if you used your own app more in the appetite and pallet of your user base, I think you could make some changes

Alright, it's a good app and all but I have just a few complaints. 1. There are way to many adds, I open up the app to listen to music and I hear like 3-5 adds before it acctualy okay the music. 2. I am a bit confused why we can't choose the song we want to play and loop on mobile, but we can on the desktop version and on videogame consoles? It makes no sense.

All that needs to be said, unable to launch. Tried everything. Had to allow all permissions and go into recovery mode and "Mount System" and then clear cache and "optimize apps" to get the app to run again this time. Seriously Spotify, this needs to be fixed. I wouldn't be surprised if these issues and or constant problems cause a mass exodus of members from your service.

I live on this and songcloud all day everyday 95% of the time. Changes- lift the band on certain songs and or albums. If I'm paying for the service shouldn't I get to hear Any dang song I want when I want? But certain ones are blocked or "unplayable". I'd also change up the adding and subtracting of songs to playlists. Should be able to add more than 1 at a time. So can be very time consuming especially if like me and have 45+gb of music. That's a whole lot of music to be adding 1 by 1.🤘😈🤘

The app is getting worse and worse with every update. It's not showing me the people I follow. Plays random songs in the middle of music I'm already listening to. Doesn't show what song I'm playing anymore. Does not have podcasts even though i have premium. Does not let me view new songs by artists I follow and keeps giving error "something went wrong". At this point it might just be easier to use a different app than to deal with the hassle of this one

I moved from Apple Music to Spotify because Apple had way too many bugs. Lately, Spotify has had so many bugs and I have reached out, but it's always the same. A link to a forum that tells you how to do a fresh install which does work... temporarily. Then you're back where you started. I understand bugs happen but lately it's really felt like these issues aren't taken very seriously. For the record, I have an S22 with the latest software. I love spotify, but I wish it worked smoother.

I love that the app can be used on all my devices. I can instantly swap from my xbox to my phone or tablet, or my echo dot. The algorithm seems to do a great job of selecting and showing playlists I like based on what information I feed it. Only cons- I cant play the playlists from my own music I have collected over last 20+ years and it has a tendency to cut out when I am cruising on my motorcycle. I have to keep pulling off the road to get it playing again.

Its a good app, and has lots of the older music that you sometimes cant even find on YouTube. However, my main issue is that it adds songs to your playlists for you, with no warning. Ill play a playlist that Ive made sure is clean (christian family), and a song will pop up that is really gross, screwed up, and has way to much profanity for me to be able to listen to it. I would like it if this autoadd feature was removed, or had a way to disable it in settings.

It's hard to recommend the app in its current state. It crashes constantly unless I have it actively open on the screen. It will some times open and not play anything unless closed and re-opened. Clearing the cache helps sometimes but I shouldn't have to do that every time I open the app. Previously I had no issues with the app, it seems the dev team is more focused on making the UI worse than fixing bugs. This is all on a Google Pixel 5a.

It would be TEN stars... IF IT WORKED??? I've paid for premium accounts under two names on two totally devices and platforms, neither work. It crashes everytime I use it. I've cleared cashes, I've uninstalled, I've re installed, I've broken a phone due to my frustration trying to get anything to work properly. It's like I'm back in dial-up on AOL. A music app shouldn't be this difficult..... Especially for someone with an MS in IMS!!! I digress..... Go elsewhere for your melodies people.....

But for several months now it has been so glitchy that I'm am thinking I have to move to a different app. It's super frustrating to have it freeze constantly or be so slow it's not worth using. I'm having to force close the app and reopen it several times a day. Even uninstalling and reinstalling has not remedied the problem.

The ads have become absolutely overwhelming. Playing far too often compared to the music received. Some are incredibly annoying, such as the single earbud Snickers ad. I understand the push for subscription, but I might as well throw YouTube on in the background instead of Spotify. Less frequent and shorter ads with more customizable music options.

Spotify has so much potential but the smart speaker functions are so poor. It is constantly screwing up. Many times I will select a new track, it will play for a few seconds and then revert to the last song I was playing to. This is with the phone locked, not being touched. 4 years I've been paying for this and it has never been fully functional without issue.

Attention Android Users: unfortunately, there are better alternatives to this app. What's wrong with it? * Shuffle will very frequently NOT work, prompting you to restart the application. Shuffle will also frequently replay songs that you've already heard on a playlist. * "Skip Forward 15 seconds" - this feature only works if you have the app OPEN and are LOOKING at the screen. Otherwise, if you just double tap a bluetooth earbud, it'll skip 5 seconds at a time. Insanity. * Podcasts: as a premium user, it is UNACCEPTABLE to be forced to listen through advertisements, which are often unskippable. Unacceptable. The "skip ahead 15 seconds" feature FREQUENTLY stops working during ads... How convenient. * Further Bugs - the program simply is not optimized to be run on Windows or on Android. It's clear that Spotify was made on Apple, by Apple devices, FOR Apple devices. Which is weird, because Apple Music is a better service. Until Spotify addresses these issues, I cannot recommend the app. It isn't ready yet. Maybe in a couple years when the developers decide it's worth investing in Android devices, it'll be at a more stable, usable place. But until then, I recommend you download music files to your phone and use some music player to play them, instead. Spotify is lower bandwidth/bitrate than you'd get supplying your own music files, you won't have to deal with advertisements, and you also won't have to deal with the application absolutely shutting down and malfunctioning every time you change cell towers/wifi connections/bluetooth connections. Spotify just is not worth it. This is as lazy as a mainstream product could possibly be. Engineered enough to just barely work.

Mobile version needs a way to select multiple songs by now. Why can't I press and hold to have some kind of multiple files feature? I pay premium. Also, there's no way of requesting an album/artist that I've seen and when you search for the song you want you only find other people's local Playlist that you can't play. Why does it show songs you can't play? Just very frustrating, not like an app that's been out for years taking my money without any improvements.

Issues are becoming progressively worse. What was once great has been on a steady decline across a few different phones for me. Controls often don't show, linking to car audio for controls often won't work, randomly starts or starts on differing Bluetooth devices, randomly stops playing, displays incorrect song playing. I used to absolutely love spotify but now investigating alternatives.

Where is the now playing bar? The app randomly stops playing now, or It keeps playing and won't stop when disconnected causing me to relaunch to close the app. I can't pause, skip , or even see what I am listening to. I had premium before , but canceled it & had been listening fine for months without issues until recently. Pretty important feature to not be working, hope its a bug and fixed soon. Or this is a deal breaker for me.

The PC version way way better! This mobile app is pretty good for premium members, however if you have a free account you can't pick a particular song even though you're able to on the pc version. Just because this is a mobile app doesn't mean it should have less accessibility and less features when it wouldn't be hard to intergrate as they have already done so for the premium membership. Other then the free version not being the best, it's a pretty good app and Spotify is a good service.

Great selection, annoyed that I get Ads on podcasts when I pay for premium service, and issues with the "now playing" function not working correctly- example playing joe rogan podcast and its telling me nothing is playing. Updating to see if fixed. Took advantage of the 3 month free trial and happy to continue to pay for premium with the huge selection in music. Rarely ever encounter a song or artist I can't find on here (happened once). Easy to use and make Playlists as well.

Do you like your music streaming app that you're paying for crashing more often than necessary? Then Spotify is the perfect choice for you! Even with the screen turned off, it'll just crash and force me to reopen the app and restart the music in the middle of work. But if the app crashing wasn't good enough for you, if you have android 12, Spotify will just beg for more Bluetooth permissions than necessary, and the team is aware of this, but are working at a snails pace to get it fixed.

I love this app. I use it to listen to music damn near every day. But why in the HELL did the developers deem it necessary to rearrange the play and skip buttons in the latest update? I've accidentally skipped songs while trying to pause it so many times thanks to this update. I've also been having an issue for months where my music will pause on its own while I'm listening on my phone, and when I press play again, it starts over from the beginning rather than at the spot I left off from.

Love the app, use it all the time! But it's gained a couple bugs that are super annoying. 1) it no longer shows up on my lock screen or swipe down menu to see what I am listening to or to skip or rewind. I now have to open my phone and go to the app. Pretty inconvenient. 2) sometimes when I skip or Rewind a song, the current song will keep playing instead. I have to go into the app and rewing the song to the previous one the skip to the song I was just listening to in order to rewind.

I've been using Spotify for a VERY long time, I love Spotify because it has all the songs I love and it's easy to use. Though, I once bought premium and it went down hill from there. Once the subscription ended Spotify suddenly was super hard to manage. Not to mention my songs keep cutting out and pausing at random moments and sometimes I have to force stop the app then open it again because a song won't play. Before I had premium I was able to scroll through my songs but now I can't do that.

Used to be a good app. Now you can't even listen to your own playlist in the order that you want to, it just plays whatever is in your playlist randomly. Unless you buy premium. Not to mention there are a lot of artists and songs that aren't even on here (or blocked by premium) you're better off just utilizing the Watch Later section on YouTube to listen to music. Atleast they have more options and you can listen in the order you want to.

The audio plays fine most of the time, other times it drops entirely and I have to force close the app to get it playing again. The video player is an absolute joke. Actually plays video like 20% of the time, and even then it's out of sync with the audio. Currently dealing with a new issue, the songs are playing but my "Now Playing" queue is empty, so I can't use my skip buttons on the lock screen or car stereo. Plus spotify won't pay labels enough to keep their client's comedy albums in library

Pros: easy to navigate, good for playlists. Cons: I have consistent issues with the TV app. Sometimes it will not show up as an option on the mobile app to stream to the TV (great wifi, both restarted and connected). The group session is also a MESS. Eventually (every single time) my phone/TV will stop being connected to the session and I can't add songs to the queue even though it's my profile being used. Super frustrating.

I wish Spotify didn't constantly show up in my Samsung phone notification screen. No other app has this behavior. Every time I go to my notification screen, Spotify is there showing a play bar and the last song that was played. I've tried a bunch of different things (including turning notifications completely off in the Spotify app settings) but it always appears.

App works fine, but a recent-ish update makes the experience of using it frustrating. I use Spotify to not only listen to songs I know, but also to find new songs. There used to be the feature of previewing a song before adding it to your playlist, but it's not there anymore. Makes me use the app significantly less.

I've used Spotify for years now, and on the mobile app there's a bug that causes an ad to play after every single song, I don't know what's causing it. It's annoying cause it ruins my music vibe. I know I can pay for premium, but I should be able to listen to music with an ad here and there but not after every single song.

Am I the only one experiencing issues where this app will crash, freeze, and whatever you play (music, podcast. Etc) the background never changes and will remain the same despite hearing something completely different. I've listened to so many different songs and podcast yet the same podcast background has remained the image for days despite force closing and restarting phone.

Personally I have four problems with this app. When you dont have premium you get limited skips, you cant put a song on loop, you cant pick a song, and its only on shuffle. I use music to work on writing, art and other things, but with the fact that I cant pick my music without premium I find it difficult to actually focuse because I cant pick the song I need to suit the mood I have. And with having three to four ads in a row it messes with my anxiety.

I do love the app. But for some reason the Enhanced feature that I have for my playlist on the app doesn't want to work right. It either doesn't let me add a song through the feature like before or it says it can't play the song because it says I don't have internet. I have the data on most of the time and currently have the 5G network with full bars, and the wifi is in tip-top shape. I already uninstalled it an re-installed it after I restarted the app. Can you fix this, please?

After the update to ask for Bluetooth permission (which it already had???), playback has some issues. Starting up from pause doesn't start audio right away. Sometimes this is resolved in a few seconds (tho I have to rewind) and sometimes it means I have to quit the app a few times. One time I even had to turn Bluetooth off and back on. There have also been issues streaming from my phone to a Chromecast. The notification bar controls also stop working after a while, which is very annoying.

Almost everything I have ever wanted to listen to I have found in Spotify. The UI is easy to navigate, easy to make playlists, share playlists, and share the account with another person. I like that I can control pause/play/forward/back from the first screen of my phone and I like that it seemlessly plays in my car.

I literally unhealthily love Spotify but recently it's just gone down hill :( like the lyrics just will not work for me like at all. I've done everything humanly possible to get them to work, deleting the app from internal storage, logging out/in, etc and nothing works I don't get any lyrics but I can see in my liked songs the song that have lyrics I just can see or use them. now I have to redownload 1700 songs for no reason and I am really annoyed

Music and podcasts frequently pause/ won't play out of the blue even woth perfect wifi/signal. Used to love spotify but it is extremely frustrating having to reinstall the app every 2-3days just to get it to work properly for a day or two. Also the pop up to pause, play, fast forward and rewind will just dissappear and can only be fixed by reinstalling.

UPDATE: Issue has been resolved. Spotify is awesome. I love that I can make my own Playlist. Great feature! I enjoy using Spotify. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that I can't turn off shuffle play. I have tried everything. Also, I was told that Spotify no longer takes my MC debit card issued through my credit union for payment. I have to go to the store and purchase a gift card for payment. However, my daughter uses the same credit union and she hasn't had any trouble.

The problem with spotify is they constantly pressure customers to buy the premium version. Its one thing to advertise the premium version. Its another thing when they slowly ruin their free version so as to pressure the customer to buy the premium. The free version has an overly complicated and difficult to use UI. In addition they keep removing services from the free version. I used to be able to preview a song before adding it, but they, in addition to other services, removed that recently.

Normally I adore spotify. But it has been bugging out for the past month. I am constantly having to restart the app to change songs. The whole song bar will disappear. Sometimes when i have no internet, i cant get into my DOWNLOADED playlists!!! Also, I even deleted the app and downloaded it again. Still not better. Please fix the bugs! Thank you.

As others have stated since an early May update I can no longer use the app on my phone despite multiple re-installs and storage switches. I can't see any of my playlists and if I try to search it goes to a black screen, same when tapping on a song or artist. Have been paying for premium for over 10 years now this is the first time I have ever had problems but this is unacceptable.

When I first got spotify it was pretty flawless, never had an issue. It would play with out fail and never cut out at random moments. But as of the past year I have been noticing more and more flaws. Sometimes music wouldn't want to play, or it would play but it would cut out at random points and pause my music. It would be nice if Spotify fixed all of the issues. Bc like I said it used to be flawless.

I downloaded this a few days ago and have been absolutely loving it. The interface is great, the breadth of available songs is fantastic, and the fact that you can save albums without adding them to general listening collection is amazing. Edit: They've changed. The personal music page feels less organized now, but we're really here because the playing song screen changed. The controls are layed out in a while new way that feels really unbalanced and looks terrible.

I've always used this and never had a problem but just recently found a lot of bugs in relation to the performance of the app (so many crashes, takes long time to load, and sometimes just stays on the android splash screen and have to reset) when changing music it is slow in playing, album covers barely load and also sometimes stops randomly- other people I know and in the reviews are having the same problem and it needs an immediate fix! ** edit most crashes were fixed in May security patch

For some reason...My music is going fast. I have no idea what to do, or anything. I'm quite frustrated with something causing this. This the second time I had some kind of issue with this app, last time it was something to do the music not playing at all, speeding up without option to slow it down, and playing in the background after the music has been stopped. Anyways if anyone is having the same issue did you ever receive help? at all?

This app plays so many great songs and albums of all different types from reggae, rock, soul, mellow, oldies, rap, heavy metal, hip-hop, new artists, acoustic and on and on... You can pick and choose them yourself and it's free but there's ads. If you get premium then you don't have to deal with that annoyance and interruption of music but it will cost you on a monthly basis. You can also listen to the music with the songs 🎵 lyrics which is a great feature so you can sing along!

I love this app. No complaints here. I do wish there were more songs and remixes of certain artists, but I'm sure it's something settled between the artists and their labels. As a consumer, I hope Spotify hears me out. All I'm requesting is to add in an option, an automatic programming, to remove copies of songs from playlists. It would allow me, and probably several consumers around the world, to save a lot of time trying to edit our playlists.

I've had spotify for a while and upgraded to premium last year, it worked great. But currently songs will randomly stop playing half way through for no reason. I then have to go back into the app or close it completely and re open it and shuffle the song again just to start it at the beginning due to this. It's getting extremely annoying because it is starting to stop every half an hour or so. Please fix it so I can love spotify again.

I came for Spotify exclusive podcasts and they are the only thing keeping me here. The amount of bugs in such an established platform is puzzling. Every time an ad pops up your audio stops and you need to restart...a podcasts will be playing but the app doesn't show anything on the player so there's no pause, rewind, etc.... And quite frequently the audio drops out every 30 seconds until the app is restarted. Also the search function is useless in discovering new content.

Great customer service!! App stopped working suddenly and used the chat customer service. Super convenient when I was at work. Was troubleshooting throughout the whole day. Uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing caches, checking with a spotify test profile as well and nothing worked until it finally got resolved. Spotify is the only app I use my phone for besides calling and texting. I honestly didn't get frustrated because they didn't have me repeat myself. spotify addict still here!

So I've been using Spotify for years. Been paying for it for years.... Suddenly this past week it has been closing or crashing when I am listening to the songs, trying to add one to a playlist, or just switching songs... This is very recent. I don't know what's going on but I hope it gets fixed because I love this app..

I have been using this app for over a year but, recently the app has gone down hill. The ability to preview songs before adding them to playlists was removed making it 10 times harder to form a good playlist. Then there is the issue with the "30 minutes of uninterrupted listening." It has never and probably will never be 30 minutes which just makes it unbearable to listen to. Add back the previewing songs e before its too late, literally nobody is enjoying the removal of such a amazing feature.

I have had Spotify for 10 years and love the app, but what drives me nuts is that every once in a while they add a feature that auto-adjusts your volume for you and I HATE it; it's so annoying to set it up and then your music gets quieter when you didn't set it that way. The most recent add is the worst though, BECAUSE YOU CAN'T TURN IT OFF. Spotify, fix this. I have always hated this feature and I need to be able to turn it off.

Don't install if you have an Android phone and want to save your data to SD card. It constantly reverts to phone storage and bricks your phone at the worst time possible. Hours of frustration. Has been this way for at least two years. I have had Spotify premium almost as long as the app has existed. I can't recommend this app unless your phone has huge amounts of storage. Read all the recent reviews, you'll see it's an ongoing problem that never ends.

The app has suddenly decided to not let me change the order I want to play. Right now it's stuck on custom. I can't change it to artist, title, album or the latest songs I've added. Otherwise, the app works great. I've used Spotify for years now. I won't use any other music format. But I really would like to go back to being able to play the order I want.

Spotify is my favorite app for music. I don't use other platforms, and this is coming from someone without premium. Even with the ads it's still a good way to listen to music. Making playlists is pretty easy and you can add entire albums or other playlists all at once. If you want to get premium, there's regular times where you can get several months of free premium when you subscribe. Sadly you need premium to listen to individual songs, but it's not too bad. I think Spotify is worth getting.

Very unreliable for podcasts, it frequently just stops the audio as you're listening and marks your episode as played so you have to re-download the episode and try to find where you left off. It's had this bug for ages and never seems to be fixed by app updates. Considering how widely used this app is, you'd think they'd be more on top of things like this.

Some bugs on Android 12. Album artwork doesn't display on the now playing bar, when you search within a playlist the keyboard doesn't come up. When I'm playing on bluetooth and I open the app, the song will skip a bit. Small things but they've been going on for over a year during which I've switched phones and still have the same exact bugs.

So yesterday and before that you could go to a playlist and it would show all of the songs you have in those playlists and you could click on any of them and it would play it. But I woke up today to find that you can only click SHUFFLE!........I hate it! I prefer seeing the songs and playing what song you want in that playlist! PLEASE FIX IT! Thank you for reading this.

It shouldn't be this difficult to use a music app. I want to the app to play songs *in the order I add them* although it has a sort feature to select recently added, it starts in the middle of my Playlist, and not, you know, recently added. Beyond frustrating to have to force stop an app every time I use it to get it to work right. Absolute garbage.

I love Spotify. I defend it among my friends and recommend it to anyone who would listen. But this newest update, or what I hope to be a bug, is so hideous. Why is the play button on the far left? This is such a bad place for it. It's not symmetrical and it's extremely ugly. One of the main reasons I use Spotify is for it's customization options and the beauty of the app. But this horribleness of the pay button being on the far left and followed by the skip buttons to the right of it is awful.

**Update: May 13 - Just downloaded another "Update," but nothing has changed or improved. Still completely useless!** Last update killed Spotify! I've paid for Spotify Premium for nearly a year with no issues. After installing this latest update, early May 2022, I can no longer access my library, play music, or search for music. Literally, NOTHING WORKS with the new update. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but that didn't help. Please fix this immediately, or I will have to cancel my subscription.
