On the website as well as in the app when you go to select next trip it'll ask you to select your route the only option you have is "done". After you have selected done there is no option to actually select the route you want. On both the website and the app it kicks you right back out to the screen where you're supposed to select what you want do. Again if you click on the 'select route' it only gives the option of 'done'. There is clearly an issue in the coding. Completely useless.

They now let you buy multiple tickets at once. App is still slower and crashes more often than the older versions.

Absolute garbage. Purchased tickets and received an email with a Redeem Now link that did not work. Reached out for support and was told to click the Redeem Now link - so helpful... Buyer beware, all sales final even if you don't get of the goods or services you purchased!

This is the second time I've presented a ticket from this app and had a driver say they've never seen it before and nearly denied me a ride. Is Metro Transit not training their drivers properly on recognizing the app?

Frequently goes down... can't generate trip without selecting stops from drop down... however drop down no longer generates....

the most convoluted asinine app. it used to be great, but this new update makes me angry I pay fares and taxes that went to paying the developer of this last update. It is seriously a 6 step process to purchase a single ticket. Then a three step process to activate it. What was this developer thinking?

I tried the first generation of this app five years ago and it was terrible. This latest version in 2021 is useful in certain ways but it has some clear limitations. I was trying to transfer my go-to credits to the phone. So it's less useful than I was hoping

It's a toss up if your tickets actually load in the cue. Then it's another toss up if they'll actually show up when activated. With the new update I can't buy multiple tickets at once.

This app is horrible, incredibly buggy. Got logged out just as a bus showed up and I could not log back in. Have to force close the app every time I buy a ticket. Very small hard to read text. Way too many button presses to get anything accomplished.

With the latest update (v4.2.4) it now takes much longer to purchase a ticket as opposed to the previous version. There is also no way of purchasing multiple tickets at the same time as you are forced to repeat the purchasing steps for a single ticket each time. If it ain't broke don't fix it...

Signed me out in the middle of a purchase. Then when I signed back in I couldnt make a purchase. I missed my bus because of this garbage app Edit: charged my account for a transfer that I never recieved.. Whoever designed this app needs to be fired. I better recieve a refund

Had to call Transit Customer Relations When you purchase a ticket it doesn't show that you purchased it. Takes like 3 days to post that you purchased a ticket. The old did ri away.

The metro bus is extremely not punctual, the app might show 5 mins away real time tracking, but takes 15 mins to arrive. The schedule might be 5 mins away, but the bus arrived in 30 mins. Imagine waiting 30 mins during winter in Minnesota. This is ridiculous!

Functionality has made a giant leap backwards, and though it would have been difficult to make the app more sterile, bland, pale and unattractive....they found a team that could do it. Sorry. Just Start Over.

Baffling decision to "upgrade" that doesn't allow you to buy multiple tickets at one time anymore, a massive downgrade aesthetically from something nice to an aesthetic I could only describe as terrible. When I'm getting on a bus and my phone is trying to connect to the transit wifi rarely does it actually work, slowing down the process of actually activating a ticket and holding up the entire bus of people.

This app is terrible. The user interface is horrible since the update. I was also unable to buy a ticket at one point. There's no way to buy more than one ticket at time. This app needs to be fixed.

You are messing with many peoples livelyhoods puting out an app so faulty claiming it can be used for travel. Randomly logs out or shuts down, when the only time this app is used is to purchace a ticket or show a driver, you can only imagine the boundless inconvenience......

Absolutely ridiculous. Slow, clunky, and I can no longer pay by PayPal, which I trust- I have to put my card information into an app that doesn't work very well? Time to keep an eye on my bank account, because I do still need to get to work. 8/9/2021 update- it randomly logs off and refuses to log back on, saying my account is frozen for too many password attempts... when I know full well it was the right password, I could see it had no typos and everything. Pardon my language, but it's s***.

Huge step down from previous version. Crashes *constantly*. Won't open much of the time, no matter how many times I delete and re-install. Can't quickly activate multiple tickets simultaneously for multiple riders. Also looks worse, for what that's worth! No more stylish little animation on the ticket.

Huge downgrade. Who designed and approved this as an "upgrade" to the previous? The previous app was perfectly fine, thus Ian huge downgrade. Nothing stacks, you can't buy things quickly, the interface is hard to navigate and all the buttons are difficult to differentiate from each other, you can't buy multiple tickets at the same time etc. This is awful.

To be blunt, I prefer the previous version of Metro Transit's App over this new version. Needing to purchase each ticket individually is annoyingly inconvenient. Also, the app isn't allowing me to make any changes to my account (other then editing my email/password.) I wanted to delete a credit card I added to the app, it doesn't allow me to (I'm not sure if this is a bug in the app or the way it was designed.) Either way... Switching back to cash... Using app only if an emergency!

The new updated map is terrible. The User Interface is not accessible, making it hard for me to navigate within the app. The functionality of buying multiple tickets is gone. The history of purchasing that made the buying simple is gone. The developer of the new app truly does not keep accessibility in mind.

Simplified? No. Knee-capped. I can buy tickets, but the menu for other functions won't load so I end up having to go to the website for NextTrip or Trip Planner.

Downgraded. The app used to be easy to use, but now all the tickets are just tossed onto the dashboard in the order they were bought, instead of having two buttons with the total # of tickets shown. And instead of being able to buy multiple tickets at a time, you can only buy them one at a time. TV is update is worthless and makes taking the bus harder.

Used this app for years never had issues buying single tickets or multiples to have ahead of time. New update made me take about 5 minutes to buy and activate my ticket where before it would just be 2-3 for the same thing. Too many buttons and screens to buy 1 ticket. Liked the activated ticket that switched from day to night when pressing the screen now activated ticket looks like a trial run screen. Also my card info was deleted with this update I really don't enjoy having to reinput my info.

The old app was simple, three click purchases, with a purchase log and purchase replay, and defaults that would be remembered. The new app requires three times as many clicks to purchase a ticket, which is much more annoying when trying to actually board transit.

This new update is terrible. A lot of functionality like buying multiple tickets a time and in app schedules are removed... New interface is ugly, unintuitive and works like some's first app they made in programming class. major thumbs down to what used to be a great app.

This latest update is a substantial downgrade. Identical tickets don't "stack" visually anymore, resulting in the need to scroll though a list of tiny text to find the specific ticket you need in a different spot every time. Way more button presses needed to activate a ticket as well. And most of the "tools" in the app still just link to online pages in the web browser.

update sucks instead of pressing 3 buttons to buy tickets have to scroll and click at least double the amount before.... how is this an improved ticket purchase?... looks like trash... fire the person that decided layout needed to be changed... drivers need more time to see the small text and looks fake compared to old version.. if this wasnt essential i would delete it

$120 down the drain... All my tickets appear as used, even though I only used 2 of them. Metro customer service redirected me to t mobile, who couldn't help me. The app also sucks in general, you have to restart it if you tab over to something else.

Developers, pls add a city name to this app, so it's easy to identify for whichever city this Metro app belongs to ! Instead of making users confused, and mistakenly download it. One simple update will help. Unless you are trying to inflate the number of App downloads incorrectly to gain popularity ??

It's fine, but it won't replace your Go-To card. The only built-in function is purchasing and showing temporary passes. Everything else in the "Tools" tab just re-routes you to the website. It's organized, but there's no way to save route schedules or planned trips for offline use. You also can't use your Go-To card from the app, or even apply the funds from it to a temporary pass. The app doesn't claim to do these things, but makes the app less helpful for regular riders.

Easy to use! You can check bus routes and schedules and buy your bus tickets without having to go a vendor or store to buy them. My only complaint is not being able to check a bus schedule again or navigate the app for other information once I have activated my ticket.

If anybody lives in Houston, get the Q-Ticketing app. They charge exact prices not an extra .50¢ during non-peak hours and $1.00 during peak hours. Totally legit. Screw these guys and their price gouging app.

Absolute garbage application. Worked for all of about a day when I first installed it, loaded it up with a few tickets and even used one. Next day it crashes every time I'd try to pull up or buy another ticket. Reinstalled it, and now it keeps saying I have no Wi-Fi/data/internet to connect to it despite having a solid connection to any one of those virtually all the time. It's petty cash, but I still have several dollars in virtual tickets that I can't use, and for that this app can kick rocks.

Keeps crashing whenever I try to buy a ticket or retrieve a ticket, it's an easy bug fix, if they can't fix this they might as well delete the whole app

Sometimes it works but sometimes when looking at the maps it causes a whole system shutdown cycle that I can only escape by hoping to restart and switch out from the app before it shuts down again. Also everything about this app other than the buying ticket aspect is just a web browser, as it uses my own system web browser but lacks any of the useful features of it when looking at schedules. The older app was much more stable and faster.

Its a great app, unless you use the express bus on non-rush hour times ($2.50), because the $2.50 fair for those times isn't on the app ($3.25 rush hour). This often results in the drivers being pissy about you using the local $2.50 ticket, eventhough thats what metro customer service has told me to use, MULTIPLE TIMES.

For the most part, the app is excellent. However, over the last few days, the app has stopped while I was trying to use one of my pre-purchased tickets. Fortunately, I was at a Transit Station and was able to purchase tickets so that I could get home from work.

Works pretty good. Real time bus tracking might be more accurate, but I'm not sure that's even technologically possible.

I've lost all my paid for passes once after having my phone reset and another time after having to reinstall the app. No way to recover them even though I used the same account. Also, it's overall more expensive than having a metro card. It is convenient however.

Under Trip Tools, simply enter where you are and where you want to go. The app will give you 2 to 3 options on available routes. I recently spent 4 days in Minneapolis/ St Paul and used the app several times a day. It never steered me wrong and I traveled from 7 am to midnight pretty much every day.

The website seems to be able to hide the fact that their buses are never on time. If the time says 4:37 the bus has already been there 5 mins prior then you have to wait for next bus which always seems to arrive 5 mins after the said upon time. The app now hides where all the buses are. Good luck trying to figure out when your bus is coming. Also, it doesn't show half the stops along the way of each route. It is just as half asked as the adherence to the schedule

The good news is that this app has come a long way in the past year. It's actually mostly functional now, and I'd argue more reliable than my GoTo card. There's still room for improvement though: like a running notification when you have an active fare to quickly summon your pass, the ability to "bookmark" certain stops or routes for quick access, or simply a way to prioritize NexTrip over the trip planner. A great step forward though!

100 times better then previous version. A must have if you catch the transit often. The app is pretty accurate with times and buses on its routes. At least for me ut is. No need for schedules or text the number on the bus signs. Stillnot perfect. Sometimes you can make a differenyt route if bus is on time but the app if it is with in 5 mins it seems wont use that as the fastest route.

App often won't load the "Buy Ticket" option. When it finally does load it gets stuck on "Purchasing". Tickets also often don't show up when multiples are bought. Poorly designed and not a very good UI.

Whoever designs Metro Transit's app/website really hates riders. The website got a redesign, which changed the app, so now instead of taking 4 clicks to get to a map to see where the bus is it takes 5 to 7 depending on how many digits your bus number is and 6 and a long scroll if you look up the number. This assumes the "View all schedules & maps" button doesn't need to be pushed a few times to work. I'm just bookmarking my bus' page on the website now. Much faster than the app.

Congratulations on making this app more painful to use. I take the same bus every day but not often at the same times and use it to pull up the schedule. I haven't counted, but now I have to go through even more screens than I used to. At least I dont have to go through the whole process after loading the map, so that is an improvement. How about you make it so that I can just save my favorite routes so I can go right to it.

I have an account and the correct password, but it refuses to allow me to login, I can login with the same credentials on a web browser. Also the create account isn't working either, tried making a new account for my spouse to use instead and just got an error message. Frustrated.

Not really useful for riders. Create account does not work (password is invalid); trip tools are the same as the horrible mobile-unfriendly web site. Drive. MTC can't be counted on.

For some reason the tickets I purchased had somehow expired in 1969, despite this app and smartphones not even existing at that time. I attempted to contact metro transit, but of course they can't be bothered to do anything. This app is a joke.

I have used this app and it's pretty convenient and you can save yourself a little bit of money I would have given this app a 4 stars but as of this afternoon things took a drastic down fall. This afternoon I had 3 daily passes and 3 non -rush hour fares only for them to completely disappear around 2:30 as I was getting onto the bus. I'm beyond pissed because I have no money left and no way to get to and from work. I'm shaking I'm so pissed. I had hoped the error would correct itself but and now I have no way to get home. When you go to the ticketing app the it shows that I have 1 Adult Non-Rush Hour Fare and 3 All-Day Adult Pass(es) but they none of these are not showing up in the phone app. I have my receipts and transactions printed out that I just made the purchases last night at 7:38 I'm so pissed!

Normally a very good app, great for checking schedules and planning trips. But beware when buying tickets. I just bought two tickets and they were both instantly expired when activated so that function is glitched right now. Will rate 5 stars when that gets fixed.

It's pretty sad when the 21 bus is supposed to be a frequency route and someone has to wait 30 minutes for the bus because of back to back limited stops only to 27th Ave S. I'll definitely start driving my car again since the bus system is unreliable. Perhaps the driver came and went from Midtown station early but a 30 minute wait is unacceptable. At least metro transit has confirmed the bus isn't reliable! I've watched 3 blue line trains pass overhead. It took two whole days to decide, NO!

Tickets shouldn't expire. Get scanners so they indicate redeemed. I opened tickets and never got to use because they expired.

your service keeps sucking and as the weather keeps getting colder your service goes down hill faster and i dont understand how it was rated in 2010 as a top tier transit system when it seems like every other weekend the light rail is closed? if you cant equally keep a efficient rail system open consecutively then why have it at all that also includes buses which are always late on your posted times and that royally sucks

I will continue to give metro transit a one star until they include non rush hour Express bus tickets. Since they allow drivers to not allow you to board with a rush hour non express pass on an express bus and expect you to overpay by 75 cents whenever you ride. (this has been confirmed by metro transit via email)

It keeps showing that it has no network access. I've tried it on WiFi, mobile data, and both those with and without VPN, but none of those network configurations made a difference. Given that the app hasn't been updated in nearly a year, is assume it was no longer developed. Metro Transit could at the very least remove it from Google Play.

The bus driver didn't even know what my ticket was and planning a trip is so much more confusing on this app than it was on the original one. Why they decided to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place, I don't know, but I definitely don't like this app.

incredibly unintuitive, slow response, low resolution maps, confusing layout. the schedule portion is done better via google search. payment works nicely, but finding the schedules for the stop you're at is a nightmare.

Occasionally will get an error that won't allow me to buy tickets. When I get that error I also can't log into my account. This has caused me to miss the bus on multiple occasions

Worked great till today. Won't allow me to sign in anymore. Restarted my phone. Uninstalled, reinstalled. Reset my password on the website. Useless now... Waited through 5 buses before I just called a lyft.

Easy to use and set up. I managed to run ahead two stops while downloading and installing this app, as well as adding my debit card as payment, and I managed to catch the bus in time. Worked right away, has a nice aesthetic, and is definitely the superior payment method for metro transit, since you can pay instantly with debit, credit, or paypal.

Really happy with this app. I can plan trips and see where to find the closest bus stop, buy tickets using my bank account online and see where the bus I'm waiting is at (in case is few mins. delayed) I think people is underrating this app coz they can't figure how to properly use it. I am a foreigner and I can tell you I don't need to know the entire city to know where I'm going thanks to this app. 5 stars.

I loved the stand-alone MyNexTrip app. With all the delays this past winter it was the best. I got a new phone & lost that app. This version has more stuff than I need. It would be super helpful if the developers added functionality to allowed users to save a quick link for a specific bus & stop.

It has so far been impossible to add value to my goto card on this app. I have tried to use 2 different credit cards and have continuously received the same error message about the card mailing address. No matter what I changed in the address, it did not work. This should be easy. Every other app that sells merchandise makes it a snap. At least offer the option of paypal. The second problem is reaching the shopping cart to see why it is giving the error message of only being allowed 1

it seems as though the people giving low reviews are simply just stupid. The app isn't that complex. set up is a bitnof a pain but it's really easy to manage and has been very useful in getting me to and from work.

Yeah the app kinda sucks but who cares, I can buy my ticket with paypal on my phone and it works. I don't have to worry about having the right amount of cash on me.

It was easy to buy a ticket. Only thing i suggest is use the transit app for mn bus and railway ride times. It is much more accurate.

Horrible app. Obviously made by someone who doesn't ever ride the bus. So convoluted and overly complex. PLEASE BRING BACK THE STAND ALONE NEXTRIP APP. It was simple and worked, punch in your stop number & everything coming to that stop is there. This app is a Cluster f&$#.... Horrible. Just use paper schedules & pray is a better solution than downloading this monstrous garbage!!!

Worst Transit in America. Dirty trains, people are smoking under AC. Having sex inside of the trains. People are injecting drugs. But wait where is metro police? Trains are always late. Metro commission is a fraud. Buses like 552 are fictitious. There is no way to see a 24hrs schedule like for NYC or Huston or Boston. It smells.

Don't rely on the app if you really need tickets or reliable information. Nearly missed a bus because my ticket wouldn't pull up quickly enough. Then it said the next bus arrived in 12 minutes, and then I see the bus blow straight by.

Update: Devs fixed the major issue with not being able to redeem the ticket. Additional options now exist for express buses! I've used it on the north star, local (rush and non-rush), and express. No issues since. One thing I do wish they would add is fingerprint login vs having to enter a password each time if you do not save it.

This app design defines minimum effort. Planning routes, buying tickets for those specific itineraries, and many other functions should be easier and integrated. Not making public transit easy for people to use is one huge reason so many chose to drive. The developers could learn a lot by studying the NL International app for trains and transit in the Netherlands. They have it figured out.

Presumably, you can use this app to look up transit routes and time, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how. Worst navigation and interface I've seen on an app since that one I wrote on a graphing calculator in 1994.

Can't login anymore. I bought tickets that I cannot see or access. I'd like to try uninstalling the app to see if that fixes things but it says I'll lose those tickets.

Cannot communicate with server error constantly after a week of working well. Major disappointment. Update 5202018 - still experiencing the same issue and I really needed to use this app as I was short a quarter on my bus card...

There are such things as express buses during non rush hour, but your app does not provide an option for purchasing them. Ripped off with no option except to overpay. Also the fact that I can find routes on Google maps that your app cannot find stands as added evidence for how worthless your app is.

Worked fine for months but suddenly the trip tools and help sections are blank. The app also deleted my tickets from my phone after update and will not let me transfer them to my account as it recognizes my phone as a different phone now. Awful!

Used to be clumsy and difficult to use but somewhat usable. Now that trip tools have been removed and replaced with a blank screen, it's useless to me.

While it is nice to be able to pay your fare on the go, the trip planner is a bit clunky compared to just using Google Maps. The one thing I was really hoping this app would do was tell you if your bus was running late. That would be extremely useful when it's in the single digits outside.

App makes phone use location tool all time and runs down battery quickly. Suggest turning off location to prevent this. Luckily I only used this when in Minneapolis and uninstalled it after I left. It was convenient for purchasing tickets.

There should be a way to save trip plans. It's annoying to have to exit the map screen to pull up the bus pass and then have to plan the trip all over again. Especially with multiple transfers.

Can't use on the bus You would think that even if you can add value to your card from the app that it would remember your card and you could scan your phone on the bus - but no this does not exist.

Worthless. Download ANGRY Birds instead. You'll have the exact same likelihood of being able to catch a bus. 1) No Express route fares. Stupid idea given rush hour is the most likely time anyone uses the bus. 2) As of 5/18, this worthless space occupier won't give me an option to purchase a ticket. Wow, what a great feature! 3) No option to just load a dollar amount so it works like a To Go card. For that matter, add a monthly option. I always have my phone... Seriously, other large cities have these options. All Metro has to do is swallow their pride and buy the software instead of being "edgy" and trying to write their own. If a bus in rural India can do this, these overpaid clods can. That or just hire the Indian company.

Same thing other people are saying- log in works fine online, but not in the app. Keep getting error connecting with the server message. I want to give you my money. I want to buy a day pass but I'd have to pay to get to a machine anyway, so... cool. So frustrating.

IDK app seems fine to me. I am from Los Angeles and am out at Fort Snelling - trip planner tells me which train and bus to catch. Franklin Ave Station, catch the 2bus and get off at Franklin E and 1st S. If you don't hear from me in a week - please send search party lol

I was delighted to see that MetroTransit created an app that I can purchase tickets and pay for them with either PayPal or a card. The driver was courteous and informed about the app & I had no problems with getting to my destination and back again. And I have been telling anyone who'll listen how cool & convenient the app is! I'm supposed to be getting bus cards from the county but my caseworkers are, evidently, otherwise busy. So I am grateful for the app because I could charge my ride to the doctor this morning. Thanks!

This is a dreadful app. The trip planning tool is nearly worthless. Maybe useful for purchasing tickets at the absolute most but I haven't tried that. Awful.

Finally got it to install on my Note 5. Was able to buy passes and use them for the family. Wish you didn't need to create an account though. Guest option would be nice.

I purchased my all day pass tickets during 2 days until the app log me out by itself. I tryed to log in and it's says my account doesn't exist and there is an error communicating with the server. I couldn't use the last ticked or buy again. Now I'm wondering is my credit card information save?

Amazing updates; now the only two things to fix are train your partners like SW Transit to accept and express passes (I've argued a half dozen times showing I paid rush hour fees of $2.25 for a non-rush hour express). Great work thus far!

Resident of Buffalo here. I was directed to download this site on the NFTA metro website. I thought it would be a convenient idea since I would not have to worry about physically carrying cash or a card all the time. Unfortunately the app or servers are not functional. I have tried to create an account multiple times but that function does not work because of the servers not responding. I would just be happy to buy bus tickets as a guest but it is impossible to do so without making am account

Installed the app and tried to create an account, server error. So I went online and created an account. Online my account works just fine. Try to sign-in on the app, server error. Uninstalled and reinstalled, same issues. I tried while connected to two different Wi-Fi networks, I tried while on 4G...same issue, server error. I'm done.

Not impressed with this app. After downloading the app, I wasn't able to create an account because of an error message (no server connection, even though the internet connection was fine). It's not a good sign when I can't make it past the first page of the app without an error message. Please fix

Cannot be used to buy EXPRESS bus tickets, even though it doesn't tell you that. The option to buy a bus ticket only provides one option: "bus/metro" for $2.25 and you would think this is good on any bus, but it is not. Apparently, an "Express" Bus is supposed to be $3. Not that you would learn this from the app. Deceptive and unhelpful. The trip planning tool is also frustrating to use.

I didn't believe till so saw it myself. This app is way below the mark. It can't even show your bought tickets once you log off and log in again. I had this one unused ticket which was valid to be used till 2018, I logged out of the app and logged in and can't see that ticket. It's like putting your money in a ditch. Such a waste. I wish your team had better developers.

Downloaded this app to make life easier . But I guess I was wrong. It worked fine for two days. On the third day I wasn't able to purchase the tickets. So uninstalled the app and then reinstalled. After that I wasn't able to login to my acc . What a waste of space on mobile .

I thoughts this would be a great and convenient way to pay for bus rides, not having to worry about carrying a card or purchasing paper tickets. However it's a junk app. After the update I can no longer purchase tickets from the app with out it crashing. I tried updating, reinstalling, resetting my phone nothing works. save the space on your phone don't bother with it. Maybe someday they will create an app that actually works.

Frustratingly unreliable, sometimes won't allow me to input a payment method to purchase a pass. When I can input payment it won't let me save it so every time I have to enter it again. Annoying that I can't save, broken when I can't buy a pass.

This app went from semi-functional to completely useless. I logged in to find that my CC info was erased and there were no options to add another one or buy tickets at all. They seemed to have fixed this except now the app crashes when you log in. Utter trash of an app.

Shortcomings are obvious in this app. You need to provide Express Route fares for your most frequent user base. As for myself I used the Plan section to find a price which worked nicely but there was no option to buy the tickets from that page. Frustrating is the word I would use to describe this app.

Started out liking it, then it deleted all my saved payment info, then got rid of anything to select during the payment selection option (seriously, I can't enter any new credit cards or anything), and now it crashes when ever I try and sign it. Is the Murphy's Law of mobile apps.

Drivers do not accept receipts of recent purchase so when the app doesn't show you bought a ticket (even after the recommended reboot of the phone). Most payments are lost without refund. Lovely app for wasting money to no avail.

I had bought 3 tickets 1 rush hour pass and 2 non rush hour tickets. For a few days I was unable to use my regular fare tickets but was able to use the 2.25 ticket.. that ticket is now expired and now my 2 non rush hour fare tickets are nowhere to be found.. I want either a refund or my tickets back. You can throw in a free ticket for all this inconvenience.

Update as of 5/10/17: the new app updates still don't allow me to use for Express rides which are all I need it for. Please add that option, and I will use it. 3/2017: Useless - I take a bus that's $3. There is no $3 option, and I'm not willing to pay $4.50 for a $3 ride. If I could buy a few $3 tickets at once to get over the minimum, that would be fine. Which brings up another point, why is there a minimum?! Basically this app is unusable. Uninstalling and will continue to pay $3 in cash and assorted coins.

There aren't any options for express trips. I have a monthly pass, but do not need express all that often. Also why doesn't it auto detect the time or allow for you to add which bus you're using and suggest a fare based on that? The extra fee just to use it is silly. I might as well just dig up change which just defeats the purpose of this being convenient. The next trip inclusion is pointless as it is the same as going to the mobile website. No points for a mobile website wrapper. There should be a way for you to add money or pay for your week or monthly pass on an existing card as well.

They only have $2.25 for weekday fares. There is a $1.25 option but it's only usable on weekends. When I contacted customer service about it, they were no help. Why would I pay $2.25 for a non-rush hour week day ride?

The only issue I have is when I try to use the ticket. The app would freeze on me. Rather than I had to factory reset my phone and I was able to transfer the tickets back on to my phone.

So apparently you can't buy one ticket at a time. Just buy a card with a 10% discount online. I tried to buy one and the minunun amount was for like 3 tickets.

Pretty much junk. Bought two tickets, was able to use one. Last Friday tried morning and evening to use my remaining ticket but it never activated. Bought two more tickets to see if those would work, and they never arrived on the device! Support has so far recommended I uninstall / reinstall, but nothing's worked. Total money-eating scam. :(

Title says it all. So today 12/16/2016 6:20 am I buy a all day ticket. It doesn't show up so I log out of my account and log back in then I see my ticket but when I try to activate it it just loops and doesn't let me activate it :/

Takes your money fine, but the fares never become useable. The GPS location finding for Nextrip doesn't work either. What absolutely useless junk that cost me 9 bucks because I decided to buy 4 tickets I can not use.

I contacted customer service because I bought tickets that never showed up on my phone. They said they are aware of the problem but so far have been unable to fix it. Shocking and disappointing.

The 4.50 minimum purchase with no option to use tickets at a later date, make this option 3 times more expensive than paying cash. Might as well call a lyft driver at that point.

It's barley an app. It's basically just the website integrated into a non-web browser. I hate when people release "apps" like this. Also, the GPS feature does not work on Android N (on the site, or the app). The ticketing feature may be nice for the occasional rider, but for the avid rider this is useless. Whatever metro transit paid was too much!!

Works great for folks that don't use Metro Transit a lot. Recommendation: Make the app full-purpose, so regular commuters can use the app instead of the GoTo cards - and use the GoTo card balance for buying tickets on the app. Also support all pass types in the app, including monthly passes and employer-discounted passes. Wish List: Also be able to track the location of buses and trains in real time so I know whether I missed the bus or it's running late.

NexTrip won't find location, the interface is just the mobile website which doesn't do a good job with specific stops. Use MyNexTrip instead if you're looking to get around the Twin Cities via public transit.

This is intended for infrequent riders that don't want to pay cash, an option that wasn't available before. Throw in route information that helps you figure out where you are going and you will soon realize this app is tha shiznit.

Should have a way to save my top 5 most used stops for easy access to NexTrip departure times. Also the ability to report a problem or emergency via gps tracking within the app would also be a huge step for increased safety!

Why would you limit the options for purchasable fares? Why isn't there a $3.00 Express Fare option? On top of it, there's a minimum purchase amount? What if I don't use the other ticket? Very poorly handled which seems to be par for the course with Metro Transit.

Nicely done app and a great idea but very sad they didn't bother to allow for a nonpeak fare on weekdays. Also kind of a bummer you have a minimum $4.50 purchase but I guess you can get one for later.

Nothing against Metro Transit, but I'm not going to pay extra to use my phone. I was hoping this would replace my go-to card, like the car2go app replaced that card. Is this a temporary issue, of will app users always pay a surcharge?
