This app is not taking step count and heart data correctly. I am walking for an hour and approximately 10000 step were recorded in other app and fit is showing only 2680 steps and 10 heart data. This is happening many times and I already re-installed the app many times but still the problem is persist . Kindly resolve the issue. I already try the reinstalling, on off the permissions but still the ste and heart counts are not correctly measured. Please share a link In which videos are prepared.

Why the white screen? Won't stop activities too frequently and have to restart Samsung 22 Ultra too often. Works well when it actually works. Too frustrating to not be able to stop recording activities and have to restart.

Sadly it was great back in the day. Now, it only tracks for a couple of hours after I restart my phone. All permissions are allowed, tracking, location etc.

It works when it wants to work. I'm just want the app to track when I have the phone on me. I'm not connected to anything just trying to use the app. I've uninstalled/installed the app several times & rebooted my phone. My GPS is on at all times & activities metrics set to be ON. It just doesn't want to track sometimes.

Fit is a nice and handy little app. I use it only as a companion to other apps, but it still has some nice features. It doesn't sync well between devices, unfortunately, even if they're on the same network. I mean, it does eventually sync. It just seems to take its sweet time to do it. I enjoy using it and do recommend people check it out.

Dropped 1 more star since it seemed to get even worse. Typical Google... Add great features but then bake I bugs. At least the iOS version is equally buggy in a totally different way, so there's that, I guess. There is no syncing among multiple platforms. Longtime Nexus and Pixel user that has finally stepped away to Apple and Samsung

Step tracking stopped working. Tried restarting the phone restarting the app. Manually tracking the activity. But nothing help. I have uninstalled and re installed. But this did not help. I facing this issue in another phone. There also it stopped working by itself. Atleast share the links of possible fix in description or roll out an older release till the issue is fixed. There is no WORKING developer email attached to this app. No fix from last 10days. Revising rating 5 to 1 star.

App worked great for 2-3 weeks. After that it stopped tracking steps. Tried uninstalling, installing, cleared cache, cleared data, checked permissions, tried in-app help and feedback, nothing seems to work. Left me with no choice but to uninstall.

Installed it a week ago. Worked very well the first couple of days. Yesterday it stopped working at all. No step counting no heart points, nothing. I've tried everything. Deleting the app and reinstalling, turning off the location and activities tracking access on and off multiple times. Battery optimization is off for the app as well. I really don't know what to do to resolve the problem..

Correction after developer Link: You can edit a weight that you added. I wanted to delete it altogether. I can only edit and save that edit but not delete the log altogether, so I have two almost simultaneous added weights. Which only bothers me in an OCD way. This resolves my issue enough and shows me to be careful of what I add. :)

I keep hitting both my step and heart rate goals, even getting the notification that I've hit my goals, and the next day the app will randomly drop two or three heart points from my prior day, meaning I don't reach my daily goal. It happens at least twice a week and I've started looking into better apps to replace this.

It's good. Seems to be accurate until this morning. I stopped activity and within 60 seconds of stopping, after I refreshed the screen, it doubled my steps and my workout time to a time that I did not do. And it won't go back down now

Update: I tried the recommended fix, counted 50 steps at a moderate pace, but the app reported only 3. At least it seems to track distance okay. Overall, it's a useful app although its counts are inconsistent. For example, today's walk was .21 miles longer in 1 min less time, but yesterday's walk recorded 6000+ steps and 40 heart points while today's recorded 3000+ and only 3 heart points. Both walks were on the same streets.

Similarly to many others recently, after many years of usage, I can report that Google Fit has stopped tracking all activity making the app useless. Reinstalling the app, rebooting the phone, following battery optimisation recommendations as well as ensuring activity tracking & location permissions are enabled all haven't solved the issue. Third-party apps remain working fine, but until this is resolved, I can't say it is worth using Google Fit.

Worst app. After walking for 20 minutes it's recorded only 978 steps while I moved more than 2000 steps counted manually. Normally 1500 of my steps make a kilometers but it is showing 0.8 km. Distance is wrong, steps are wrong, calories are wrong. Kindly improve your app. It was not expected from Google. Pacer app is 100% accurate and 1000 times better. Pace shows current counting of each and every steps LIVE while you not. We need to refresh it. KINDLY LEARN FROM PACER HOW TO DEVELOP AN APP

I still don't have my data before April, 2022. It's been so frustrating, you guys asked me to send an internal feedback, but nothing happens. After resetting my phone to the factory settings, I've just lost all my data previous from April.

Update: I deleted the app and re-install and it still does not track steps or workouts. I did went into the app and sent feedback once. Nothing is working. I am so disappointed. It used to be able to track my workouts on Sworkit and my steps on myfitnesspal but it is not anymore. It stopped working recently so whatever "update" yall did recently messed up the app completely.

Used to work okay but now it doesnt record properly at all. I was tracking a run, and the app was giving accurate distance and time call outs, but upon finishing the run, the recorded times and distances are off by almost 2 miles. I have the settings set to allow use of GPS at all times, but it always seems to think I am Jesus and can run accross lakes and ponds.

it mostly works very well, but I'm perplexed as to why a leisurely bike ride has so many heart points while no matter how many pushups i do during the strength training - I get none or one. and the nutrients recording feature is unusable when I can't pick basic foods like e.g. eggs within the app 😅 EDIT: I'm not measuring pulse, I've been trying to measure push-ups as steps during a workout. it'd be easier if I could just enter a number of push-ups — no linkable app allows such simple exercise

Used to work great, but now it doesn't track my steps. I disabled battery optimisation, cleared cache, force stopped it, uninstalled and reinstalled, but yet the app doesn't record my steps in the background. If i manually decide to record steps, it works only if fit is the only app on the screen and my phone is unlocked. Tried on multiple different devices with android 10,11,12, on OnePlus 6,7t,9r with the exact same issue. Have been using fit for many years, haven't faced this before.

Doesn't work. I have the latest Google phone (Pixel Pro 6) and yet Fit repeatedly fails to load my sleep data from the Zepp app, despite being granted full permissions. I have already reconnected the app at least twice. I got sleep data for a day or two when I first installed it but now I just see "no recent data available" although Zepp is showing the data. I gather this has been a problem for some time and for many users.

The app is broken yet again and won't track steps. Reinstalling, clearing the cache and resetting permissions is doing nothing to fix it. No idea why it's so unstable but it would be nice if the app was functional for more than a few weeks at a time and not so useless.

After completely draining battery and rebooting fixed the tracking issue. Weirdly it didn't fix earlier by simply restarting phone. Old: Please add tracking thing on "at glance" section on the pixel like adidas runner app does on pixel running Android 12, which would be really nice other than having widget all the time or temporary adding removing from the home screen after workout for tracking. Material You design would be really great to have specially on widgets.

Not tracking my bike rides. Did 10 miles only recorded I did 1.7 miles. Phone was in pocket and permissions is set right. Please fix app..... As of right now it is a zero star app. Update still broken did 34 miles only recorded 5.8 mile but mapped the whole ride. I have a screen shot if Google would like to see. Still a ZERO star. Google please fix

Not tracking anything. I do delivery for work, I made sure all the settings were correct and nothing showed up all week. I launched the app today to take a look at it logged 2.6km of distance this morning while I was browsing the internet in bed... I've already tried reinstalling, rebooting, even deleting all data not just the cash which made all my statistics disappear which I thought were backed up to the cloud... Distance is being logged correctly in Google maps I noticed yesterday it logged

I am appreciating the extra tracking features. I'd like to suggest adding a few extra things to track. BMI. More in depth "cycles" with a visual graph. 👌 this would help me declutter some apps. A notification to okay behind the screen tracks it's assuming with quick fill ins when you slide the screen down. This would help a busy mind like mine who forgets. I'll suggest the others when I remember them.

Very inaccurate on step count. Almost off by 2k steps a day. I use Samsung Health with my watch and that seems to be the more accurate one. Other than that it has some good features for tracking workouts and health options.

I want to give 5 stars but the tracking is not aligned with the map. I'm an expat based in China. I can use Google map without any issue but I don't understand why map in Google fit is not properly aligned. Also, do you plan on letting other medical devices with apps that measures bp like Resmed?

Doesn't work anymore. Hasn't since last year... Edited to add: zero steps the whole day again. Tried reinstalling several times over many months.... I shouldn't have to reinstall it every single day so it can track SOME of my activity. And then the next day it's back to zero. I'm obviously not the only person with this issue.

My application closes & hesitates even after phone is Optimized & use of Memory Clean. During Respiratory Rate it resets, hesitates & pauses at 80%. Freeze & resets while trying to enter Blood Pressure. During Pulse reading it resets & freezes.

This app is questionable. I have my smart watch synced with it, but even when I'm not wearing the watch, the app is showing I'm burning 45 calories every hour. And the calorie count is way off when I do wear the watch. I understand this is just an "estimate", but this apps "estimate" is off by at least 500 kcal compared to more accurate "estimates" from other apps.

Doesn't do the tracking correctly. Used it during last summer and everything worked fine (as I'm using it only for bicycle rides tracking). After some of the updates, it is completly inaccurate. Doesn't recognize the real discance passed, even though the permission for using location is on (while using the app) and my phone location is on. How come that it cannot simply recalculate the route crossed through Maps and than give the final status with the duration...Very frustrating.

Worked great until recently. No longer synching with my fitness devices regardless of all troubleshooting done. This is a known issue for many and Google has failed to correct it. Kinda pointless without being able to synch. Says it can't display devices. Honestly, don't waste your time till this known issue is actually corrected. *** As for the " response and suggestion to uninstall and reinstall" I have done that multiple times as well as disconnect and reconnect all devices. Didn't help

Fit stopped working, not tracking steps or any activity at all. I have tried all of the fixes suggested including battery optimisation, but of no use. I thought something might be wrong with my phone's sensors. So I've installed a third party tracking app, which was tracking all activities. So the issue is with Google Fit. I think its time to say Goodbye to Fit.

Smartwatch: Bought a waterproof smartwatch to track my swimming, unfortunately Google Fit does not support swimming... Great concept of tracking strength training, too bad a lot of exercises are missing (leg press and inclined bench press being the biggest miss) Too bad move minutes are replaced by steps. I cycle for over an hour and a half a day, this is no where represented in the step counter. Since last update it looks like I barely move, my step counter stays close to zero

Cycle Tracking has stopped working. Tried restarting the phone and reinstalling the app, but nothing seems to get it working again. This is the main thing I use this app for, so this is disappointing. I have already tried reinstalling and restarting the app. Location tracking is also enabled (though I would not have thought this is actually necessary for menstrual cycle tracking...). The app still force closes whenever I try to access the cycle tracking section.

Using OPPO Reno 7 Pro.. My oppo watch 46mm keeps disconnecting by itself even when it was excepted from battery saving feature.. And it is not syncing data with Google fit.. Please include syncing time options where we can choose on what interval it should sync to Google fit. The auto-sync is not syncing well. For example, in the journal tab, my sleep time is automatically totalled for a week and strangely, everyday it shows that my sleep time is 45 - 57 hours.

I don't get all the hate, the app works brilliant for me. Update: It used to work brilliant, but now it's adding random activities when I'm not walking. But some days it still works great ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Anyway it's no big deal, the app lets me edit the heart points & delete incorrect activities. Thanks for your kind reply.

I have my oneplus band app connected with google fit still the footstep count is not equal in both applications, for example today I got around 8000 steps according to my oneplus band and onelpus application and google fit was showing just 3000 steps. Horrible... Doesn't track properly at all and keeps freezing. I keep trying the same thing over and over as per the instructions. Turn off the "track your activity sensors" in the app, restart the phone, turn the setting back on. It starts tracking, tracks for a bit and then stops again in about 20 or so steps. I can't keep restarting my app and the service like 20 times a day. Turning on location made km tracking even worse - it can jump up and down randomly throughout the day and shows less.

This was a great app in the first few days of using it since then I am no longer able to add a new activity with out it replacing or renaming my previous activity with it. Completely messing up my steps and heart points I have tried to uninstall and reinstall it cleared cache and everything else suggested and still being met with the same issues. I am seriously considering going back to the Samsung health app as I never really had issues with that.

Please allow the feature to track steps but not activities. I cycle to work for 5 minutes, the app says 20. It's connected to a calorie counting app I use but messes up the numbers. I'd rather use my smart watch to do my cycling than Google fit. But prefer Google fit to count my steps at work where I can't wear a watch. Please make that a feature and I'll change to 5 stars, else I may have to delete it

Mediocre at best. I want to use Fit as the bridge between my fitness tracking (Wahoo, Strava) and nutrition (MyFitnessPal), but it's so inconsistent, and core functionality is not there. It occasionally reads my steps from my watch, but this is infrequent at best. Also, cannot see connected apps, this page has been broken for months *Update: tried to raise a support ticket, but that doesn't seem possible. Getting 0 heart points for walks/runs recorded on Wahoo Rival. Cycling is fine.

It syncs properly to my fitness app (Mi Smart Band 5). I had to link my band only from my fitness app (Google fit didn't recognize my band since the very beginning) and I had to provide permission to everything, including folder, contacts, camera etc.(both apps). Once I provided access it started to sync after 5-10 min. I've noticed that when I use my band and smartphone at the same time, Google fit always counts more steps than my band, under this scenario the steps won't be exactly the same.

Data accuracy is a big question... For same activity it shows different dataat different time... For example you are done with an activity and if check post 2-4 hours it shows you one data... Close the app and reopen it... It will show different data... Somehow it is not encouraging...

I'm hugely frustrated with this tool. I want to use it to feed my garmin data into another app which only picks up data from Google Fit. I'm trying to use Strava to do this, but although Fit and Strava appear to be linked on the surface, Fit is not picking up ANY data. Uninstalling both apps, clearing all data & caches and reinstalling doesn't make any difference...when you look at any specific activity, Fit is unable to load any connected apps.

It's so inaccurate and buggy that I could have gotten more precise information on the amount of steps if I had just used Google maps and divided the distance by an average step length😁 Guys, sorry, but your one-size-fits-all advice to check permissions and so on seems pathetic. There is some fundamental problem that has been scaring users off. I love the design though...

Would not recommend. I was originally using the samsung health app to track steps " automatically " while working out or doing any activity . I only dowloaded google fit for healthy wage , disappointed only because I was literally missing 4000 steps which in fact the samsung fitness app captured without prompt or opening the app .unfortunately I will not win the challenge on healthy wage merely based on google fit not capturing half of my daily steps goal . Thanks.

I am frustrated that the displays are not customizable. For people that struggle with eating disorders, seeing things like the number of calories and certain "health goals" displayed can be very triggering. These metrics are great for some people, but not for others. I would really like to be able to customize what information is shown to me. Health and fitness means different things to different people.

Long time user. For the last month or so the app will not track cycling unless the phone is on and the app is open. In my 6 years of using this it has never happened before. Please fix it as I'm missing out on QFF points. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled and I've made sure all the settings are correct. It was working fine and now it isn't for over a month. Clearly it's not just me based on the other reviews.

Google Fit on my Wear OS watch still insists on getting location from the built-in GPS and burning through the battery in under an hour, rather than getting location from the connected phone like it used to do a few versions ago. It's now completely useless due to battery consumption. Revert that change and bring back the good strength training rep detection, and my rating will increase. Until then, 1 star. Luckily the system app on my watch still works well so I'm uninstalling any updates.

Tried syncing with my Samsung Health watch by using HealthSync, so I could auto sync my data to Noom. My step and activity counts in Google Fit are WAY off, though - we're talking several thousand steps below what they actually were. So now my Noom data is all screwed up. This app is pretty much useless. I'm uninstalling and seeing if I can just enter everything manually, which is a pain. Just make it ACCURATELY sync with Samsung. Why is that so hard?!

If you're not a health nut, then this will work for you. I use this app for very bare bones workout tracking & really can't complain. I don't wear any type of smart watch & I actually have the pedometer completely disabled on my phone. This is my 2nd year using it to track bike rides. I was happy that it still had all my rides from last year saved in the Journal section so I could use them to plan for this year. Occasionally all the workouts will disappear or the data will be off in the list view, but it has always reappeared or corrected itself without major intervention from me. The only thing I wish I could do is access this ap on my laptop the same way that you can so many other Google aps such as email, calendar, sheets, keep, etc.

Google fit stops counting steps whenever it wants. My phone stays the same, I don't turn off or on my data, or my location, I don't restart my phone... It works fine and then suddenly it stops counting for no apparent reason and I have to restart my phone. Most times it'll stop counting for good after I stood still for a while. It's an app specifically made to track activities and it doesn't track them properly. The update didn't fix this, and I won't uninstall it every single time this happens

It worked decently for walking, if you wanted a rough estimate of your distance. Many times it would recalculate you out of a whole km once you got home. Bicycling seems like even with all the permissions turned on it has no idea half the time. My last trip it managed to record .37km out of a 10 km ride. It's pretty frustrating if you depend on it for motivation, and tracking - if half my exercise becomes bicycling, than it seems better to delete the app than have it taking up space.

Super inaccurate in bizarre ways on Pixel 6. Especially really really bad at tracking bike rides. This makes it too frustrating to use, because it is so far off. Also, it gets really confused if I bike somewhere, then do some activity. I get the impression it doesn't understand people who bike commute. Dev reply that I need to reset and turn sensors did not help at all.

Everything about this app on the Pixel 6 pro is way worse than on other phones I've used it on. The heart rate monitor isn't even close, being 50% off constantly, no matter the light conditions or angle. It even suggests to turn the flashlight on, yet hilariously, you can't use the flashlight when the camera is on... At least it's free, or I'd give it a 1 star. It barely even tracks your footsteps, and the respiratory monitor pretty much doesn't work at all.

Update. Still useless. Cleared it's cache. It works 50%of the time which isn't useful for fitness tracking at all. Like like I'm forced to use something far more reliable for training! Not tracking steps I've noticed this over the past months but today it's tracked very few steps and even less activity. I've spent hours walking but the app thinks I've only walked 24 minutes and a couple of thousand steps. Very inaccurate.

App lacks useful features that require the use of other apps, such as cumulative info on workouts over the course of a week, month, year, etc. And if it does have it, it's so hard to find that it's useless. Why is there no option to see far\long you walked\run over the course of a week, month for specifically tracked workouts?

I'm having the same issue many other people are having. Specifically the inability to synce other fitness apps with Google Fit. I've tried just about every troubleshootinging mechanism, but none seem to be working. I hope this is something that can be fixed soon. Edit: I appreciate you folks reaching out. Extremely buggy. Works on its own. Stops on its own. Some times you get heart points easily and some times no matter how much hard you try, heart points get stuck. Same happens with steps. Tried it on different smartphones. Used to work great but now buggy almost always. Google needs to rework this application from the ground up again. Disappointed.

Apps that have been linked to my Google Fit for a year no longer appear in the "manage connected apps" list.....no connected apps listed at all; theres nothing there, but a message saying " couldn’t load apps or devices". It's quite good application to monitor your activities. But it seems that has some glitches or minor bugs tracking step counts. While all other apps counting is just perfect.. fit always lagging..for 2/300 steps..even it sometimes decreases the steps after showing nearly correct steps.. if this bug is solved than it can get 5 stars.

And then it's crashing all the time ...! What's the point then recording, long duration & long distance, when it's either not recording or crashing.

"couldn't load apps, please try again later." Before you give me your box answer. Please get this fixed, it's the only option for syncing my fitness apps. All it's connected through this app

Google fit not syncing or connecting 3rd party apps, I used this app all the time until it stopped syncing... I've uninstalled EVERYRHING and RE-INSTALLED EVERYTHING I've done all the necessary settings and I still have no luck!!!! I see a thousand other people having this issue and apparently there's still no headway in the fix

The app just loses entire days' worth of data at random times, usually after looking at it 5 minutes before. Some data is shown in the journal, but not displayed at all. Can't manage connected apps because Fit can't load any info on them. Tried clearing cache and force-stopping the app. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Tried shutting the phone off and restarting. Tried various combinations of these. Can't give more than 2 stars because I can only see 2 days' worth of data.

Overall I like the app and the various integrations. But I can't give it more than 3 stars when it doesn't let you edit/delete erroneous data like weight. I have to go in almost daily and delete the bad data from the app Fit feeds, because I can't remove it in Fit except to delete All data.

The app seems to sleep every day between 7am and 8am SG time. Steps are not counted/gone missing (I have another tracker), sometimes the steps decreases many times over the hour. I go for my morning walks every day during this time and it happens daily without fail. Why Google? So unreliable!!

I ended up uninstalling - this stupid app is downright user UNfriendly. I'd like to just keep track of steps but those I've taken recorded automatically from the phone's movement ADDS to the amount of steps I manually record and it ends up being wildly inaccurate and I don't see a way to correct or change it. I'd like to not be forced to enter time spent or duration when it's an all day total, not an actual workout. I'll find an easier and more accurate way to record my progress.

This app is fully capable of everything I need it to do, good workout tracking, no ads, no iap's, but lately when I'm using it to track a bike ride, it doesn't show my current speed; it just shows 0 mph, only occasionally showing my speed. I have every permission enabled so I don't know what the problem is

Update: not a helpful response from developer. Clearly there is a bigger problem with the latest update on 4/7/22 that has rendered Fit unusable as a hub for other fitness apps. A more helpful response would be acknowledging it's an issue and you are working to resolve it. This seems to be a widespread issue that I am sure you can replicate easily on your side. Provides no functonally for more than two weeks because it doesn't integrate with other apps.

This keeps recording that I have walked more than my new smartwatch has recorded. It doesn't help that I use this to connect my activity with WW to gain weekly points. It is so inaccurate I find it frustrating 😒 I have done what the reply said and it is still not working. It seems to adding the steps e.g I had done 3,677 and then walked through to the kitchen and back my steps were the 3,933 and when I looked at Google Fit it had added them together 😆

"couldn't load apps, please try again later." Before you give me your flow chart recommendations to fix it, Been There, Done That. The app is broken. Will not sync to any other apps, will not even list other apps or devices so you can disconnect and try again. Not sure from when, but my guess would be the last update push to samsung phones a week or so ago. Since something gets broken every update. Please get this fixed, it's the only option for syncing my fitness apps outside of crapple devices, and I do not want to go there.

Since the past few days, I cannot sync with my 3rd party apps. Google fit says it couldn't load apps or devices in the connected apps screen. I've reinstalled google fit and all 3rd party apps, restarted the device, allowed permissions again. Looks like lots of others are facing this issue too. Google fit team, please look into this as it seems there is an issue with the app on Android 12. Please don't tell me to reinstall and restart device, allow permissions etc as I've already done this.

Similar disappointment as many other users. The app decides on its own when to stop tracking steps or cycling, so I cycle 5k twice a day regularly and sometimes the app only tracks 2k. Considering how Google knows everything about my location I struggle to understand why this happens. The combo Samsung devices & Google apps is SO frustrating. Edit: the developer response to my review is a bit meh. Not sure what additional permissions I should enable. They're all on. The thing just doesn't work.

Same experience as most, the app was having issues connecting to my Galaxy Watch 4 and syncing with Samsung Health. After I did get it connected it randomly unsynced and can't load any apps. MyFitnessPal gives me no issue nor does Samsung health, it's isolated to issues in the app but the response is trouble shooting for the user. In my opinion it should not be this much of an issue especially when multiple other apps are having no problem.

Adding this review again because it seems to have been removed without warning: It used to work pretty well but off late, it has stopped tracking activities altogether. I have updated the app, uninstalled and reinstalled. I have checked Google Fit help pages and followed their advice as indicated by a previous comment. Tracking and location are on. It still doesn't work. Even when I add workouts, it shows the time and distance but it's not incorporated into my daily heart points or my steps.

The synching doesn't work. It doesn't see other apps. Tried reinstalling, it's the latest version, rebooted my phone multiple times, all the permissions are authorised. Google fit barely does anything. It's a poor substitute for any of the apple fitness tracking systems. It never seems to record when I'm doing activity even if my heart rate is elevated. And I can't record when I have bold for 2 hours and get credit for it but I could record if I did that dance called flossing for 5 minutes. Seems absolutely ridiculous. Plus there's no way on the app to try and register any complaints or suggestions. It seems as if Google doesn't care about what their users want

I've tried "Step Counter - Pedometer," by Leap Fitness and "Pedometer - Step Counter App," from ITO Technologies, Inc. I also added Google Fit to the test. Google Fit gives me slightly *more* steps and distance than the Leap Step Counter. I'm a little suspicious given the distance that I walked this morning. (I suspect Leap is the most accurate of the three, but, given the variations, I'm not willing to trust anybody just yet.) (And you will note that I'm *completely* ignoring the calorie estimates so far.) I do like the fact that Google Fit allows me to record my weight and blood pressure, which will allow me to keep track of both on an ongoing basis. Unfortunately, Google Fit seems to be just as much of a battery hog as Leap. Leap does allow you to "pause" the step counting function, and that pause button, if you notice it, is on the main page. Google Fit, on the other hand, requires that you go to your profile, go to your settings, find that "Track activity" setting, and turn it off. Mind you, on Google Fit, once you turn it off, it stays off, and you save battery until you turn it back on again. Leap resets to unpaused and active counting every time you turn the phone off and back on again. Which means it starts draining the battery again ...

There are several things I hope Google can enhance. 1. The list of activities is too long to scroll through. 2. The frequent used activities at the top of the list should be more than three, or make it configurable. 3. There should be voice feedback during exercise such as running, walking, like distance, speed, etc. 4. There should be cadence monitor for running.

The UI is not consistent with Google's material you design language, and tracking blood pressure is not easy because the stats for it are both hidden away several menus from the home page, and the graphs and charts used to express the data are obfuscating and limited. App doesn't back up data. Not recommended.

Works fine for me for tracking steps/heart points, but the secondary reason I use it is to sync with my weight scale and BP apps, Renpho and Omron. When I first connected them, it worked great, but have since had issues and cannot either get them to connect to Fit, or to sync with Fit. Apps blame it on Fit, Fit blames it on the apps. Very fricking frustrating for something that should just fricking work. Has caused much aggravation. I would have given it a 1 star but it does work well enough for activity tracking.

Heart points not the same as what is entered into an activity after the update. I followed the instructions in the response and everything was good but after the last update it's even worse than it was before. The # in the notifications is often 35. The heart rate measuring is pretty nifty. It took me a minute to figure out I need to hold my finger on the camera facing the light so the light a can shine through my finger because l didn't have a well lit flat surface readily available.

Could we go back to the previous version, please? Until literally now when I updated, it used to track my steps from Pokemon Go and counted them, which helped a lot for caloric calculations as I'm trying to lose weight. Now suddenly all those walks are gone, and I wasn't keeping track of them myself because "Google is doing that", right? Bad choice. Wish Pokemon Go would let me use a different app for its Adventure Sync; guess I'll just have to burn through my battery during those walks instead. And yes, before I'm nicely being told to clear cache/restart/uninstall apps/reset permissions/etc., I've done all that. Multiple times. I still get the "Couldn't load apps. Please try again later" message when I check my connected apps in Fit. Thanks, Google.

I have several issues. I've been a user for over 2 years, but the GPS loses signal constantly which prevents me from being able to conduct interval running. Also, I do not believe the heart rate readings. I get over 20 heart points when I walk to the local cafe. Before, I could barely get 1 point. I will use my old watch to isolate these problems and update this review if necessary. But this watch and app did function correctly about a month ago, so I believe the problem is the app.

I did a 6 km walk, on a route I've known for several years and measured several times, using Google Fit and other similar apps. Today, Google Fit measured 4 km, because it didn't follow my route through the streets, but drew straight lines on the map, as if I were flying!!! I reported the problem in writing and was immediately contacted by phone. Unfortunately, it was a completely useless and inconsequential phone call. Result: I'm going to install another app to monitor my walks, because this one no longer works.

I am using this app for last few days. I have some doubt that the recording of the app. Usually I am doing my workout almost every day at a same route and also return. I have noticed that the app is making some wrong records, for ex. the kilo meter records are little wrong as it records the distance with 100-200 meter difference in different days. Also the counting of heart points with a 15-20 point difference for the same activity in every day. For Example, on 1-4-2022, walking steps were 8432 and today it was 7170. Like the heart points are 61 and 39. I feel some kind mistakes it committing. Please check

Connects and syncs with my other apps (kind of). It syncs with MyfitnessPal but it does not pull in my nutrition information. Syncs my weight with my Withings scale but not my body fat percentage. Syncs with my Polar app but doesn't sync my sleep. There are no options to really select what I want to track and what I don't want to track. Just a general " you are connected" when connecting 3rd party apps. Other than that it tracks some of what I do during the day. It would be nice to have a complete picture all in one place. I also have another app that is supposed to connect to it and I receive "Google Fit authorization denied" error every time. So if you want to get a picture of your health that is "clear as mud" this app may be for you.

this seems like a wonderful app at first. collating data in one place. free. tracks steps and distance moved etc. but then you start to notice all the terrible things. there is no web interface. trying to use the awful graph of (for example) weight is frustrating and an almost entirely useless endeavour, as the shifting y-axis ruins any attempt to scroll across screens (and only in jumps of 1 year, 3 months, month, week). trying to view historical data on a tiny phone screen is a joke when one has a lovely large screen on a PC. i dare anyone to be able to get a decent history of their activity, weight, heart points or whatever in the app. it's impossible. how is one meant to see what health aspects were in a good or bad place at various times in the past? how is one meant to see heart points vs weight, or steps vs blood pressure? exporting the data is a nightmare. i thought that i would just exprt the data into a spreadsheet and make my own graphs, not so. there is no native ability to export data. one has to dig deep into the google ecosystem to get to all personal data, export only the fitness data, analyse and parse the export files for the info in the app that you need, extract that via json to csv... you get the point. what is the point of data if you can't analyse it properly? you can't even delete weight entries! you can only edit them. so if you mistakenly add a weight to the wrong date, there is no way to remove it - you can only set it to an estimate, which messes with the data. or set it to (for example) 0 and then filter that out if you've gone through the herculean process of exporting the data to somewhere more useful. there is no way to reorder the tiles in the app! seriously? if i want to see my daily steps wuickly, i have to scroll. there is no way i can move that tile to the top. this also means that adding a (for example) weight reading requires scrolling to the weight tile and pressing add, or by pressing the add button on the home screen to open up a menu where i need to select weight. and heart points as the second tile? who uses this useless metric anyway?

Up until 2021 this app was working perfectly. Starting 2021 it stopped tracking walking distance. I've granted all permissions, uninstalled and re-installed the app and I still have to manually track my walking (by selecting 'track workout'). And I was never able to manually add my period. I have no idea why. It doesn't take any information to Flo nor gives away any to them even though I've synced Flo app with Google Fit. As time passes by Fit just gets worse for me. I really enjoyed using it.

Has stopped working. Again. Every 10 days you have to stop, uninstall, restart, install and maybe, maybe, it'll work again. If you don't need this app, you better use something else. Since the auto-answer already got back: yes, all troubleshoot is done. It is simply a very badly written app. The one-stars reviews will be posted as long as the app is behaving like this. Edit: now stops twice a week. Progress, right?

Needs a better way to put up data. I've using fit for a while and somehow it seems so basic and represents less data. Having more heart points makes no sense. More useful data is required. Comparing it with health app on iOS, the Google fit has very simplistic data which doesn't really help to track progress. Also i hate the fact that i have to unlock my screen to view the distance travelled, having it on lockscreen would be nice.

No ads, and some basic functionality. However, it gives me up to four times as many heart points when the phone is in my pocket rather than in my hand while I walk. It records the same distance in the same amount of time, about the same number of steps, but the heart points vary wildly. I don't wear a smartwatch or Fitbit. Baffling.

Worked for a few months. I had Google Fit synced with my Fossil Watch to sync steps and other health and fitness info. After some time, Fit just stopped functioning. Very slow to start up, displays incorrect data, would time out when trying to sync with Fossil, start or stop active tracking. I hoped that a hard reset of all of the data and cache would fix the issues, but upon trying to resync my Google account, I'm encountering the same slowdown and time out issues. It's literally unusable.

If you have other devices, a smart watch, a smart scale, use MyFitnessPal, then this is a good place to keep data in one place and act as a conduit to connect multiple app data. The tracking of exercise is wildly different from my watch. It also doesn't take into account heart rate when calculating calories, just time and some arbitrary burn number. If the app added intermittent fasting tracking it would be more useful as well. Maybe add that.

I installed it because, because I hoped that I could say while standing on the scale, "Hey Google, record my weight as X". This feature did not exist, so it was immediately off to a bad start. It got worse when I linked it to my calorie counter app (Lose It!), and Fit started writing random weights to the counter app daily. I had to disable and ultimately stop using Fit because of this. Fit also has an incomprehensible "Heart Point" system, and a strange way of counting calories burned each day. Fit also has a confusingly-named section for "body measurements", but it doesn't seem to actually have a space to put body measures (such as waist size, bicep size, etc). Instead, this was more of a vital statics section (blood pressure, respiration, etc.). Overall, Google Fit seems to have a lot of features, but all the features scream for you attention with endless notifications (until you disable them and get no notifications or reminders). Some of these features may be useful, the I wanted the app to be a central place to link my various fitness app, and Google Fit simply does a poor job a linking and syncing info to/from other fitness apps. The Fit app is just to confusing and clunky to be of much use.

Third time reviewing....previous reviews were apparently deleted by the developer. This app does not record any activity. I have sent feedback through all appropriate channels. Update ** - Got the s22 Ultra and installed this app again to see how it works. This time it completely misses the accuracy of my walks. It shows me walking through homes instead of on the streets on my 2 mile walk. Plus I can't turn off my walk until hours after I'm done. Why can't this be updated to work??? It doesn't track my walking accurately. It is consistently off everyday on my steps and on the map. Love the app but since the last update I've had this issue. Hope it can be fixed.

Not a really serious fitness app. While it can track a range of sports, it fails to track swimming beyond basic time in the water. There is not an option to enter distance swam and it does not track distance either. Thus there is no measure of effort expended. If you floated in the water for 30 minutes or put up a world record time, Google Fit would treat them the same. This is a major deficiency to the app.

After years of use, For no longer tracks my walking in the background properly and the widget will not update. It's not a permission issue, a battery one, or anything. This is just like how the weather icon on the home screen can be changed to F instead of C, but changing it back is a roll of the dice. Apple does background app refresh SIGNIFICANTLY than Android. Always has, always will.

Does an okay job tracking steps, bike rides, etc. However, does a terrible job tracking distance location for measuring distance traveled. Update: I had three identically displayed routes with three different distances recorded (one being less than half the distance of the other two). As for the suggestion from the developer, I am already having the app track it directly rather than syncing from a third party app or device.

This app always seems to tank after it's been working well for a while. I have it synced up to a MyZone heart rate tracker and it was working fine for a while. However, Fit now seems to ignore my runs. It just completely ignores the activity. What's more, it seems to lump my heart rate from different exercises into one exercise. Pretty frustrating as I do boxing training and I like using this app to track progress but it seems useless now.

It is not accurate with tracking distance. The daily calorie results for exercising are random and don't make sense when comparing to previous days. It randomly changes the distance walked in the past to lower amounts when looking at it in the weekly and monthly calendar view. It constantly changes the daily distance walked to lower amounts when looking at the home section. If there was another app like this that worked with Pokemon go adventure sync I would not use this app. 0 stars.

When it works, it's great, but when it doesn't it's so distressing. Logging the wrong kind of workouts or grossly misinterpreting how much walking I did. Sometimes logs workouts when my phone isn't even moving (just sitting on my desk, for one example). I use this in conjunction with a medical weight loss program, having to manually enter data is such a bummer.

Whats included is decent but it also kind of feels like its not complete, for example under "Browse" theres lots of categories but not many of them do much. I think it would be cool if the categories were for fleshed out, for example allowing you to set water reminders right from the app instead of linking a water reminder app and porting in the information from the linked apps. Also it would be great if it included a mental health tracker as well, since all aspects of physical health are there

Cannot describe the disappointment of not being able to track reps when strength training. I did not update my watch since 2020 because of this feature being removed in newest version... It was something I used every time I was at the gym. I was forced to update when my watch needed to be reset. I wouldn't be mad if you could do it in the phone app but you get no choice. Ridiculously bad app, which does nothing well. I installed this app as it is the only sync option for my omron scale, thinking I could have all my health info synced to the app, including my Fitbit... But oh no, even though Google owns Fitbit, there is no native way of syncing the Fitbit information. So instead I need a separate app to do the actual syncing. Since this app counts steps, it will double count after sync. This is just a gimmick (camera HR sensor?) Ad pushing useless app.

Usually works OK for me, minus the occasional glitch. However, it is completely on the blink today. I am walking right now and no steps are being tracked. Great when it works but it doesn't like changes. If I do aerobics one day & walk the next, it does not like the change. Even if I switch to the correct icon it continues to monitor the previous exercise. According to this app, I recently did aerobics for 26 hours. One day I walked 59 miles! Yeah right. I don't think so. I uninstalled the app & reinstalled it. Hope that works.

It has some nice features. At least, they would be nice if the program would work. It only records workouts, steps, and heart points if it feels like it. Even when it does feel like it, it's extremely slow to pick up data from my primary device/app combo. It randomly forgets workouts that it has previously credited. (Yesterday, it went back and forth between crediting my afternoon walk or my evening workout--but never both.) The reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 is that it is not my primary tracker so when it fails it's no more than irritating. I simply set what it calls goals and I call minimums to something low enough that I can still keep my streak even if it drops half what I do. When it doesn't randomly drop things, it counts steps pretty close to the same as my primary app, and I have the feeling that it counts calories used rather more accurately. The only thing I'd like to see different (other than working properly) is counting heart points on a rolling week instead of Monday to Sunday and then you start over.

This app is not accurate in the least. I regularly walk 3+ miles a day, using the park's markers to determine how much I walk. The marker will say .58 miles, but this app says .41, and after walking 2.9 miles, the app said 1.8 miles. There's no way I only walked 1.8 miles in an hour, when I knowingly can walk a mile in 20 minutes. Then it doesn't always accurately count the calories expended because, again, it doesn't accurately know how far I walk.

This app has improved tremendously since last May. It's not as buggy as it was. The sleep tracking is so much better now and the charts are easy to read. The paced walking is great. The sync between my wearables is much better too. I would only suggest competitions or a leader board and additional workouts.

The app itself is okay. Seems to track outdoor activities just fine but inside it's off by at least 30% sometimes more. I often use my watch to track workout and sometimes forget to pause or stop the workout when I get done which throws the metrics off.... And there is no way to adjust it.

The app is great, but although it has a large number of activities to be tracked, at least one (very popular during winter in the north areas) is missing: shoveling! Please add it 😉 And details about the activities could be better. My Coros app is way better on that. One more thing, please add a way to adjust duration of the sleep period since sometimes the app captures time before or after sleep, when we're just reading or watching a movie from the bed.

I use Fit's passive tracking to get an overall picture on my week-by-week activity to use in conjunction with running/workout data. Depending on my device, it can be very accurate. I wish I could set a weekly distance goal in Fit so I could see my week progressing in the widget. While I like the heart points goal the only other available goal is steps which holds no value to me.

Meh. Another Google app that showed great promise, but then does nothing really new and fails to deliver on the actual premise that would have made it invaluable. No one needs another step counter at this point, They're ubiquitous and many of them are far better at it. What would make this a great app is if they delivered on the promise of connectivity. Tie together the various device-based apps that do one (and only one) thing really well and put it all together in one place. I've got a Fitbit app with my steps, a Renpho app with my weight and other body measurements, an iFit app tied to my treadmill that gives detailed info on every run I take, but every one of them sits there out on its own. That's your sweet spot Google -- right there. Give me one place to track, store, and view all my fitness info, and you will have a total winner that I would actually pay for. Instead what you've created is one more app to track my personal info to help you generate ad revenue, but which gives me nothing of real value in return.

I like how it tracks steps, heart points, and miles. However, some days it works and somedays it doesn't. So it's useless for tracking weekly goals. I shouldn't have to re-install app or restart my phone every day to get it to work. And sometimes it still doesn't work.

Love Google Fit. This would be my preferred app for all things fitness except for one thing: my brand new Fitbit won't sync natively with this app. That's the main reason I bought a FB after hearing about the Google acquisition. It's confusing to me why this feature isn't baked in already. You can grant access to a third-party app to sync data, but thats the only solution I'm aware of at the time of this review. Otherwise, I'm really pleased with Google Fit. Accurate, intuitive, and features!

This app has soooo many problems and bad design/development decisions that it needs thrown out and coded again from scratch. Inaccurate measurements, confusing user interface, the data itself keeps changing and doesn't record correctly, 'heart points' is an arbitrary bad measurement forced in your face. Steps and heart points are the only metrics displayed and set as goals while other data I actually want is buried in the interface you have to hunt for. I'm super angry this is the Google option.

Disappointing for a Google app. Barebones activity tracking with no Google magic. I wish it automatically detected when I was active, paused when I was not, trimmed the time when I was driving and forgot to turn it off. Would be cool if it automatically guessed the meals based on a photo too. But it has none of these features which readers it pretty useless for my fitness journey.

This app is garbage. Doesn't sync with any of my devices that are connected to it. Only tracks through my phone and I refuse to carry my phone every second - especially when I'm exercising. It appears to be nothing but one more ploy to convince you to let Google track every inch that you move on this planet. Just stick with your fitness device of choice and the matching app. Kick this junk to the curb.

I've been using this app since March 2019. After a couple of rough patches due to updates, I'm happy to say that Google Fit is now performing as expected. When used with my smartwatch, tracking my daily activities is easy and informative. The journal feature allows me to go back to the very beginning and see my progress. The updates sometimes tend to take a step backwards but, they are usually corrected within a couple days and the new features are welcome additions.

Ben experiencing problem with displaying heart points on the home screen. It is tracking and recording fine in the Journal screen but not in the home screen. In the home screen, it is always showing zero heart points even though the distance and calories is getting updated correctly.I unnecessarily did a factory reset assuming that that would solve (remove) any unwanted malware that is probably causing the issue but seems like not. Some issue with the app that needs correction. Edit: Issue fixed.

I would give app a 5 if not for recent frustration. The front screen started showing 0 steps and 0 heart points even though tapping into both show correctly. If I walk 5 miles, the miles show on front page, but shows I did it in 0 steps and 0 minutes. Very frustrating. I tried deleting app and re-adding. I love this app, so I don't want to switch to another, but I won't put up with this for more than a few days.

Its so buggy. Suddenly my steps and heart points are saying 0 yet when I go into steps they are there. I use this to sync everything for an important health program and its very important that it is accurate and it throws off my results and progress tracking. I can't even delete incorrect weights and it syncs them wrong. March 1 shows up in the february week and won't even change when I edit it. Showing gain when there was loss. Its all messed up and these updates don't fix anything.

Just as others describe, the map/distance tracking is abysmal. If I walk a 4-block square route, it shows most of a triangular route, which doesn't correlate with my route at all. I've sent feedback on this before, and it's just gotten worse. I'm surprised that a company that does mapping and geolocation and can sense how many mph I'm traveling doesn't use the GPS sensors more precisely to see the route I'm walking.

This app is decent. The only reason I use Google Fit is because my smartwatch and workout apps sync to it so it's an easy HQ that allows me to see all my data at a glance - good job! Besides that, the app over-simplifies activity with things like "heart points" instead of active minutes. In my opinion is better for inactive couch potatoes than real athletes who want to see genuine data. It also doesn't include meal tracking and my walks and runs don't show a map 🙁.

Mehhh, could be more user friendly. if you made the app a little bit more friendly like the Samsung fit app I think you would have a much better quality app you can't really make any adjustments you accidentally put the wrong data in there for like blood pressure it's stuck can't make changes to it and then you can't just use your phone to automatically check your blood pressure using that app as well That's one thing and then the walks you can't just start a walk and stop a walk.

For some reason, the newest update that was meant to "improve" the app has now made the features I used the most non-existent. When linked with Wear OS on my smartwatch, I was able to track specific strength training exercises (deadlift, bench, squat, etc.), along with my sets and reps for each. Now those features are completely lost with the newest update & all that's logged is a generic strength training activity with no option to include any of the information it use to do automatically.

The most useful feature of activity detection and rep counts has been removed. Without it the new app is practically useless. The new simplified design has been over simplified that it's no longer useful in displaying even the basic information when walking or cycling. Lastly the calorie counter is extremely unreliable, if you put activity to strength training and just sit and do nothing, the calories keep going up at the same rate. I hope they fix this and bring back the activity detection.

Please fix the glitching, or app is useless. I've been using this app for months now for hiking, walking, swimming, etc. and haven't had any issues. Recently, while hiking, I will go to check my progress in the app, and all I see is a loading wheel as if the app has lost connection. By the time I finish my hike, the majority of my activity has not even been recorded, which means that the information is not accurate. Please fix this issue, or I will have to uninstall permanently.

The path tracking is all over the place. Sometimes it just cuts corners, other times it makes up routes fit for Spider-man. And this is while using the foreground recording functionality on a Pixel 4 XL, not exactly an obscure device with aggressive battery saving features. Edit: it worked for a bit as long as I did the recording(and ONLY the recording, no music controls) on my watch. Now, it's switched to not being able to acquire my phone gps, and randomly assigning 0 to distance.

This app is good to track walking and running. After upgrading to android 11, it started measuring less half distance walked. Funny thing is it shows the route map of walk which covers double the distance than it shows on home screen. Something changed recently which is very bad. Update: link sent in reply to comment is not working. All settings are done as required.

At first, I enjoyed the app. Now I'm not so sure. Why? My mother and occasionally go walking together. We found it interesting that for the same distance and pace our results were off. I mean way off. For example, her Google fit logged 7, 645 steps/ 2.77 miles and mine 3, 512 steps/ 3.21 miles. This has happened on so many occasions that I no longer rely on its accuracy. Yes, my tracking preferences are on. Not sure what to do.

The problem I've been having with the app lately is that when I finished my workout (for example) 3 miles, it goes back a little in distance and takes away my efforts. I just finished 100 miles for the month of July and took a screenshot of the month page. When I opened the app back up it went back to 99.75.

Your app has changed drastically, steps, distances. Not accurate anymore at all. Been using you for well as long as I can remember. And it's just occured in the last few weeks to a month. Fit is good at figuring out what activity is occurring automatically (walking, running, cycling). However, Fit undercounts the distances. The problem is Fit doesn't sample GPS data often enough, as evidenced by the Fit maps. Google Maps correctly shows the true path and distances traveled, so it's not phone or signal problem.

I used this app for mountain biking. In the middle I had to pause and then I started it again. In the end, it showed me the full route but when I finished my workout, it stuck to the previous pause point. Also saw discrepancy in speed tracking . Not sure if this was a one time thing or a bug. Switched to strava back. Find it more accurate.

It's possible this is my own fault, and if someone finds a solution I'll change the rating. It appears this app doesn't track sleep at all. The only thing appearing to be automatic is heart rates and activity. Which are nice features, but I was really hoping for a nice sleep tracking ability. Any suggestions beside manual sleep entry? *Update - 1/2/20 - so I've recently discovered that you need a third party app to integrate the sleeping data back to the Fit app. I use Sleep Cycle. Works Well.

Awful. Out of every workout I've tracked this month, NOT ONE has been recorded properly. Every single time it either pauses and deletes my tracking or shows me the results and then loses them. All my workouts that are 10+ miles have to be recorded into multiple workouts, which it will inevitably lose parts of. I'm deleting this and trying something that works. Shameful that Google of all people can't even make a workout tracking app that actually works.

This app is ok. Unfortunately, I'm never sure of the accuracy of my walks. It doesn't seem to be consistent with distance in relation to the activity and map. The map will show my walk ending about halfway through. Sometimes the distance will reflect that ending point on the map and other times it will be correct, regardless of what the map says.

Good, but basic. I like mostly everything about it, but there are some functions that I believe should be standard but are missing. Can you please bring back move minutes to go along with the steps that are now tracked? How about logging sleep? I've synced with the Strong app, but occasionally the workout doesn't register any heart points the day after, where it did accurately the day of.

I had to uninstall it because it kept crashing. Before this, it had a hard time telling how far I ran or walked, leaving out huge chunks, like half a mile. It also seems to ignore intensity, calculating repeated hill runs at a 29-minute mile walk, as if the repetition of two blocks six times was simply two blocks, and a straight walk rather than a very difficult run.

I used to love this app, but I really dislike the changes in the latest version. Like many other reviewers, my main exercises don't require many or any steps (strength training, yoga, and dance), and I loved having move minutes as a goal to aim for every day. Now that I'm confined to my apartment during the pandemic, steps aren't even really an option, though I'm still getting plenty of exercise. Please make it an option to choose steps or move minutes as the primary goal.

I would have given this app 5 stars, but Google made a change and now it's 3 stars. Home shows you steps, calories, distance, heart points, and move minutes for the current day. Journal displays steps, heart points, and workouts. It no longer shows total move minutes for prior days. I was using this app to track total minutes moved per day, so now I have to use a different app. Journal does not display calories burned. Otherwise it works well. Easy to log workouts. Easy to synch w other apps.

The app changed from tracking movement to counting steps, significantly reducing its usefulness and motivation. I can't even get into the app now because the box to set a step goal covers up everything. I really liked this app because it measured my overall activity, it tracks my time and gave active minute goals. I liked it a lot, especially during the shelter in, because I'm not walking far but I'm staying active. The update changed it to just another step counter. I hope the producers will consider allowing the app the track both and let the user choose which goal system is most useful themselves.

I've done all of the troupleshooting steps suggested and I still have issues with this app not working the way it is supposed to after a few weeks. Pretty good! Used to be perfect, but I recently started having an issue where the location is more inaccurate than usual when I go on a walk. When I first installed in September, 2019 it was great. I have my MiFit app attached to this. For some reason, it no longer keeps my move minutes and heart points. Minutes and points just disappear. I got notified that I had exceeded 150 heart points, opened the app and it shows only 64. All points from previous days were reduced or gone. I don't have my phone on me all day, so I depend on the data from MiFit.

It appears there's a glitch in the software. I decided to install Google Fit and sync my watch app with it. Well the Move and Heart minutes were correct for about 45 minutes then poof only a few minutes remained. The Journal showes my data though. I spent too long trying to figure out what happened. It appears I am not alone. Someone at Google needs to fix the code.

Horrible app. =/ 1. It doesn't accurately track footsteps. I forgot my fitbit at home and relied on this whole running errands all day. In the end Google registered two walks. One for seven minutes and the other for 11 mins. Sigh. 2. When selecting an activity you have to manually scroll to select the type. Booo, this can easily be updated to make searching more efficient, come on Google! 3. It is sometimes nonexistant to edit a workout. Overall a horrible interface.

I use my Fossil Carlyle HR smartwatch to track my activities. It's pretty accurate, but the only gripe I have is that I'd like to be able to edit the activity times/length. I forgot to end an indoor volleyball session and it tracked everything for 24 hours and now I can't change the end time of the activity. I know that the data would be difficult to manipulate when adding or removing time from an activity, but it would be a nice feature.

Frustratingly buggy UI. Different parts of the interface are frequently out of sync: the step count usually doesn't match what's shown in the graph. Other times, the step count will stop updating entirely for minutes at a time and just fade in and out with no indication about what's happening. I suspect that Fit will be on the chopping block soon, like so many other niche Google products. That's a shame, since it seems like it could be a solid app if it got a bit more care.

It was great, until one day it just stopped working. I uninstalled and reinstalled it onto my phone but it would not work without a wireless connection. Wish they could fix this little bug because I would love to reinstall the app again.

10/10/19: Data that was randomly deleted eventually returned. Apparently, the update caused a hiccup that was resolved. The app is decent when it is working properly. The problem is that it will retroactively remove distance at random. Given that I must use this app to support a different app, it becomes a big hassle when it reduces the distance walked. Additionally, there is no support for checking your walking distance in kilometers instead of miles, which is a disappointment.

Virtually no options and no settings page at all. Graphs are have little to no explanation and there's no way to get values for peaks/troughs or change axes (distance, time, altitude, speed, etc). No way to keep screen on or have the map follow the compass (it only faces north). No voice coach or periodic status (every x minutes or y miles). Only widget is huge and cannot be resized.

It's ok. Could be better. Should allow you to share and compete with friends and family. UI can also be more intuitive. I've also experienced the app removing a few heart points for no reason. Should also add a calendar view where you could see all the rings and if you closed them or not. Like what apple has for the apple watch. It's nice to look at your progress that way.

App mostly works (can be glitchy when you add activities manually) but you can't set/track normal goal metrics like distance or elevation. Stop trying to make "heart points" and "move minutes" a thing. Maybe they are a better measures of effective exercise, but are hard to plan around and motivate around. This app is complicating my life instead of simplifying.

Great way to track your progress. It would be even better if the app can connect directly to a device without opening another app to read the device. An example would be a body strap heart rate monitor, i dont want to run 2 or more apps just to read my heart rate on one app then moved the data to this app.

It's unfortunate, but this does very little to track the fitness level and goals of someone who is tracking with a watch. I don't take my phone on long runs, I leave it on the bench when I play sports, and its too much hassle to manually input everything. If it would connect with Garmin or Strava and add those steps, that would be outstanding! In the mean time, it does not really help. Good thought though!

The app is simple to look at and tracks walking pretty well. It encourages you and lets you know when you are succeeding. My only complaint would be the ability to look back at past days. You can see specific activities and point totals, but not time, distance or step totals (you can add the distances up yourself if you want).

I'm kind of disappointed with the performance of this app. It worked fine in the beginning, but several times I've opened it to find that it hasn't been tracking my steps, nothing but a big fat "0 steps". Restarting the app doesn't help, only after to uninstalling and reinstalling did tracking resume. I don't think it's unrealistic to expect better from Google, especially when most Google apps/products work excellently.

This app is flawed and broken. There's a multitude of better alternatives out there. GFit lost the ability to view logged weight from past. You can add your weight for the day, but after that it just disappeas into oblivion - you don't get to see it EVER again. Same thing with BP readings. GFit used to have a robust web interface allowing access to conveniently view your data from a computer. GFit has now also also lost the ability to do that. Forget harping about move mins - FIX THE APP first.

I used to love this app. It worked great, encouraged me to move around more at work, and even helped me progress in Pokemon GO. Unfortunately, it broke sometime in the last week. It tracks nothing. It has lost track of all recorded data since mid-May. Any attempt to start a workout hangs indefinitely and fails. Any attempt to change a setting in-app loads infinitely, then fails. The pop-up menus don't work. When I tried a reinstall, I couldn't login with my normal account at all. Fix it Google

Motivates me to get out and get moving every day, and I like being able to set goals. My issue with the app is with the measurement of my pace while running. Looking at the chart after every run shows my pace significantly fluctuating over the course of the run. Like constantly. Makes the graph very unhelpful and pace measurement likely innacurate. The fluctuations often show changes of 1 minute or more in my mile pace over a very short distance when I haven't stopped or greatly changed my pace.

this app got a lot worse after the update a while back. used to be very good fitness app for tracking lots of activities. it is frustrating that you can't edit the time of an activity anymore which is important if your phone dies mid activity. now if your phone dies, the activity keeps going and you cannot stop it. also you can't view and move the map of your activity unlike before the update. I don't really care about the heartpoints feature that was added either. just give me the old app back.

I got this to sync with g-plans. I have a Samsung sport smart watch/galaxy smartphone neither of which communicate with the app. so I guess I'm out of luck. Samsung fit and Google fit won't connect and Google fit "help" is not at all helpful so if the real issue is lack of intuitive design I won't figure it out. It has a clean look and didn't crash so two stars for the app that is useless to me.

Tracked perfectly for a few days, then lost an entire afternoon walk, 6k+ steps, the day after it was tracked. The activity is there when you look at calories, and the total miles are correct, so it must be a bug in the app. Make it more reliable, and easier to fix if this happens again! I would very much appreciate a fix that retrieves or recalculates my steps in the next few days while the step challenge is on, rather than just improving it down the road.

Overall, I like the motivation the app provides. When I check my progress while on a walk I can see whether I'm on track to meet my goal. However, lately I've noticed my mileage and steps walked don't coincide. For example, today the app registered 9.8 miles but only approximately 11,000 steps. That would be just over 5 miles. I'm more inclined to believe the step count. The GPS function needs attention. Thanks!

I'm not happy with this app. It doesn't sync with the apps that it says it's connected to (under armour: Record & MyFitnessPal, Glow by Eve, MobileFit, LFconnect; it won't even connect to the Fitbit and MapMyRun apps. I don't even see how to connect my Fitbit watch to it). I have to log everything manually, which is time consuming. How is it supposed to track what I'm doing if it's not reading the apps' data? My phone is not always on my body. When it is, it's still saying that im not moving.

Has become useless since update ... unless you only use it with a Fitbit or similar device... in which case there are better apps. The fatal problem is that if you edit or delete an activity, the total move minutes and heart points do not reflect the change. you end up with totals that reflect minutes and great points for activities you didn't perform. This is especially unfortunate because it is very easy to make errors while entering activities; the defaults are not all visible immediately.

I used to use iPhone all the time including my iwatch but my husband and i switched to Google Pixel and i now have a ticwatch. My biggest complaint in switching has been fitness tracking. Using this app is so inaccurate. I can't trust the tracker in this app at all. I will go on a 3 mile hike and it will say I've only gone 1.7 miles. I'll go on a 4 mile run and it will say 2.2 miles. I don't even use it to try and keep track because I'm so frustrated with the inaccuracy. Its also very slow start

Automatic tracking is not reliable. Sometimes it tracks me exercising but I'm just driving. Sometimes it doesn't pick up my exercising. It's just so frustrating. I wish they gave you a pop up question to see if you started exercising and then track the distance a little better. It does have other options to log your work outs and weight loss though. So the app isn't a complete bust.

This app has been simplified to the point that it's barely even functional anymore. I can't disable the automatic tracking that thinks I'm walking when I get stuck in traffic (the article says it should be in the settings, but it isn't), I can't edit a journal entry to change the intensity, I can't set long term goals. Looking for something else now.

I'm with a lot of other people. i used to really like the app but haven't found it very useful lately since the update a few months ago and stopped using it. I wanted to start using it again but can't figure out how to set goals all i see is steps, heart points? and move minutes. i want distance in a week goals like 25-30 miles per week. I'm looking for a better app.

It was doing great until recently. starting March 16th, it hasn't been doing well with mileage when matching the steps. I would have done 2 miles worth of steps, for example, and although the step count is right, the mileage will say I've only done like 0.35 or something way less. So because of that, it's messing up with mileage for synced apps such as Lympo and Pokemon Go, and hurting the progress in those apps. Been trying to contact but haven't been able to, so leaving concern here.

It used to be pretty good. The "update" was really a downgrade. The data isn't presented very clean, sleep data was removed from view. It just takes too many clicks to get the information you're looking for. There isn't a good way to compare your current level with your previous level... just bad design all around.

Stopped tracking last week and now i can't even reinstall properly. When inputting data, does not show height and weight input. I get to setting the move minutes and cannot advance through the setup. Was there a recent update? I have a pixel, so i figured it should be pretty seamless... Auto tracking is not the issue I am writing about. When I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, I am unable to get past the initial info. The tracking issue started on 2/19.

I find it poorly designed and useless as a fitness tracker for a long time fitness athlete it seems to be designed as a gimmick rather than a serious tracking tool. The flashy interface is no substitue for accurate tracking and the frequnt and inconsistent notifications are not timely. useful or accurate for anyone who is used to intense exercise.

Frustrating. it doesn't import any of my Strava results even though it's set to synchronize. and it doesn't let me make any changes or even delete the ones that get logged in my "journal" - i can see a "more options" button but it disappears when i try to click it. I'm amazed that Google would release an app with so many bugs !

Update gave up lots of bits of polish, which is fine. But the first day of the week is forcibly Sunday instead of syncing with Calendar settings like it did before the overhaul, fitness tracking doesn't monitor elevation changes, insufficient customization for activities such as detailed logs for strength training, and plenty of other quirks that leave the app lackluster at the moment. Feedback within the app is completely useless and support doesn't address anything when contacted.

Refuses to run in the background to keep data synced and up to date. Even when I run the app I have to repeatedly try to get it to properly update. Most of the time I have to go into the accounts setting of my phone and tell Fit to sync from there to get it to more reliably sync. Zero troubleshooting steps have been effective in fixing this.

Google fit on wear OS does not sync properly with Google Fit on my pixel 2xl. The numbers are all over! I've read the threads and this seems to be an ongoing problem. Jeeze Google how can your own apps with the same name not sync?? Get it together and fix this issue! It's been going on a long time! You responded thank you for sending in the complaint? I see threads going back to 2016 on this issue so you people definitely know this is a big issue. It renders the App USELESS! PLEASE FIX IT! Jeeze...Fitbit can do it but Google can't?

I see no problem with this app but I do not let it directly interface with devices. I let the software applications optimized for my device sync to it. Then this will compile the data points to give you a nice picture of your activities, heart rate, sleep quality, and more in easy to read form that motivates improvement.

Doesn't track accurately and then doesn't allow you you to edit anything to improve it's accuracy. Response to comment below. "I've tried that multiple times as instructed by the help section. However when I follow those steps the only sections it lets you edit are the activity title and notes section. It shows no selection box for changing distance, time, etc..."

i have been using it for about 4 months. It has real probls with rowing, or anything on the water. Entering new workout data or editing existing data is problematic. Progress graphs are aligned to the month, 3month, and calendar year, so it doesnt provide a very good veiw of your progress, especially on January 1. There is no ability to track calaries in, which could really help. I recommend looking for a different app.

I like the app as far as the info it records, but it would be my go to app for activity if you would add a sharing option when an activity is completed and even better a voice function that calls out your info every 5 minutes or so while walking/running. For example: "you have walked 1 mile, average pace, average speed, steps walked, calories burned etc. Thanks!

Google fit is ALMOST there as a fitness tracker app. but it leaves a lot to be desired as far as connectivity. It doesnt seem to sync with most of my favorite fitness bands or nutritional tracking apps, and so far as I can tell it cannot read the Heart Rate Sensor in my Samsung phone. it doesnt seem to have any support for sleep. lastly finding out what it doesnt do was difficult, other apps have lists of compatible device and apps, i didnt have any such luck with google fit.

This doesnt interact properly with watch version of the app. It detects activity when none is present: calls a drive to the store a walk for example (@ ludicrous speeds). You cant edit or adjust the data and when you try to delete entries they stay put. It can detect 24+ hours of aerobics and congratulates you for forgetting to turn it off. All these issues make this app beyond useless and in the realm of just plain annoying.

This really is not a very good app. Very confusing interface. The app tracks well but very hard to see good info in app. For example, still have not found a view for calories burned per day. Also, very clunky to switch days when viewing day stats. Should be able to slide left or right to view days instead of tapping a small right left arrow. I liked the Moves app MUCH better but sadly Facebook canceled it.

This used to be a great app. The GUI redesign is awful, and the metrics are vague. I want to be able to look at a day or a week or a month and see total steps, miles, and calories. Currently it's broken down into chunks of activity thru the day with no total summary. I don't know or care about 'heart points'

I love that this app tracks "move minutes" and " heart points" to help you track activity levels, not just number of steps. I hate that it is incredibly inaccurate. It constantly drops steps; you open the app, it shows a step count, then updates and lowers that count - by hundreds of steps, sometimes over a thousand. I have a smartwatch, and the numbers on the watch's fit app never seem to match the app on my phone; and when they do sync, the app defaults to the lower number of steps (apparently). I've watched my step count drop on phone and watch over and over. It does not sync well with other fitness apps; they overwrite the Google fit data. If I track a bike ride on fit, and another app also picks up the activity, but doesn't track correctly (because I didn't set that app to track), the Google fit data is overwritten by the other app - which only picks up about a third of my ride. It they could fix these issues, it would be the best fitness app I've used, but at this point it's so unreliable that I need redundant apps in order to get anything close to accurate info.

Used to have this on in the background all the time, then turned it off to save battery. Recently tried it again but disappointed. Doesn't do elevation gains like "stairs" or "flights" climbed stats like iPhone does. Hard to find exercise or hiking sessions eg. "Today, morning" or "Today, mid afternoon," etc... Needs a feature to sort a workout to the top to separate it from short walks to car for example. GPS areas covered and map drawings need some work. Not recommended app.

It took away everything useful and gives us move points and heart points. Two metrics that are only useful to fat old people. Who wants heart points?? I'm not recovering from surgery. Cardio progress maybe.. But it doesn't work with common trackers like Fitbit. I used to be able to keep good records of workouts, bike rides, and runs. Now it just gives me two meaningless scores. It's like there was no research done before the update.

I admit I only downloaded this app for use with Pokemon go as it will not connect to the fitness tracker I currently prefer but first impressions are not so great. It's not intuitive really in the least. I had to dig for the settings menu, it set goals for me automatically that probably will be perfectly useless for me. I love Walking but I'm not going to go just because some app tells me too. Sorry. Also it snows 9 months out of the year where I am so I can't possibly walk every day because it simply isn't safe sometimes to walk in blizzards and 4 + feet of snow. I will give this app one month after I can connect it with go. If my impressions haven't improved by then and/or I find it useless in some way it's going bye bye again. Just so you know I love walking and use a simple app called pedometer pretty regularly. It's a wonderful app that tracks steps taken, distance walked, and calories burned among other things pretty accurately. It isn't very robust but it does exactly what I want and need it to and it does it well. Only downside is I have to turn it on and leave it active for about 5 mins for it to be accurate but it's easy on my phone for battery and processor so with Pokemon go it's amazing even if I can't sync the two. Sorry.

Problem #1 Google will never read this. Problem #2 They "fixed" an app that wasn't broken, and in so doing made it mostly useless. It doesn't do what it used to do (track your fitness activities) nearly as well. It also won't allow you to edit the entries to fix what it screwed up, so when it mis-logs a combo walk & bike ride, you can no longer split them up. It also doesn't show app integration. Since updating it, I rarely look at it. If I do use it any further, I'll probably look for an APK of the old version. This is terrible. Google, next time you "update" an app, why don't you make a new thing and with a new name, but leave the old one alone!

This is a great step in the right direction for a fitness app. There are a few additions that would put it over on the likes of Samsung Health; adding an actual area of the app you can connect with others to help you with your fit ess goals. Adding as well a workout or program to help you meet those goals. I loved Samsung Health because it had running programs to build towards running marathons. And I could track my fitness with others on my age group. Sadly, this app has none of that this far. It merely tracks your steps. For the most part that's the only thing it's good at.

Could be better. This serves a basic function as an activity tracking app. However, the integration of heart points and move minutes can be confusing. Less effort was put in step counting which most use it for. For added exercises I would recommend adding the typical amount of heart points and move minutes because in most cases that is impossible to know.

I used to really like this app! Easy to use and clearly tracked data. This update it terrible though. Every time I add something, there is no update to my overall goal for that activity for the week. I don't get it. I hope the next update isn't as terrible, or I'm back to finding something that's actually useful. And, I don't care about "heart points". Just let me track my workouts for the week!

I like the experience so far, but a few things would make it better: 1) I downloaded this because I wanted the Google Assistant voice commands, but they're very limited. "Track my workout" is not intuitive language to figure out so it would be nice if I could just say "start an [x] workout" or the like. I would also like a full list of supported voice commands and haven't been able to find one. 2) I don't need to track my weight, so it would be nice to be able to turn that off and not have the big weight meter taking up space in the middle of the app's front page. 3) It's pretty clunky and slow to start tracking any kind of workout that's not a run. I can't run/jog and I can't do walking workouts outside, so please make it faster to start different workout types like yoga and indoor walking/treadmill!

The app is reasonably good at differentiating between walking and bike riding. I'm not sure how accurate the step count is. Significant difference between this and Samsung's fitness tracker. As much as 20% more than Samsung. Small bug when I actually start a workout activity (bike ride) When I end the ride, the notification of an active ride is persistent and will not close. I have to force close the app. No data is lost, so just a minor pita.

I hate the update. Go back to the usefulness of seeing the activities on the home screen, personal goal setting, and while the AHA guidelines are important I just don't care about "move minutes." I was using this to track my fitness goals and progress and it's more difficult to use for that purpose now. Going to start using a different app.

I appreciate that you refreshed this app, but at this point I don't see value. The app shows some steps data, but I can't drill down or even get a reading of the exact number of steps per day. I can't see information beyond a week. All the information the app records seems to be inaccurate and I have no way of verifying or editing. You can and need to do better.

The new version is okay as a basic fitness app but I much preferred the older Google Fit before. I liked being able to track my maps and my average pace. Now everything is a laid out more complicatedly. They made finding the exercises easier by putting it alphabetically but that's about it. All in all I think the app got worse instead of better. I can handle the new look, the heart points and everything is an interesting concept but I don't get the point of the points. But since they took away al lot of the features that made google fit awesome to use I may end up switching to a different app.

I like the split to Move Minutes and Heart Minutes in the 9.2018 update. That said, Google has work to do. Sometimes I get notifications of having achieved a goal, only to open the app and find out I have not. Some days I'll get this incorrect notification several times a day. To be fair, I don't use a watch, but I feel even the phone alone should be more accurate.
